Love Poem: First Date

First Date

'Twas for a freshman dance called Turnabout,
  Her invitation was such a surprise;
She was tall and fair, exuding social grace,
  A bashful jock was I, so out-of-place.
Her brother drove us, a gallant gesture,
  I actually sat down next to him!
Left her fuming alone in the back seat,
  Fighting off tears, smiling a smile so grim.

The moon shone bright, the stars brightly twinkling,
  Heaven-sent alluring constellations;
Comets and meteors painted the sky,
  Midst planets with dazzling rotations.
Whilst down on Earth, a fair maiden's distress
  Let disappointment her fair cheek caress.
