Love Poem: Eternalia -

Eternalia -

she danced at midnight 'top the bluff
quite high above those ledges, cruel
as churning surf that gouged the reef
was taunting mute the bleeding moon

her sway, seductive, 'neath the stars
was meant to tempt the hellion brood
but summoned, yet, one wraith, alone
the prince of dreams and ceded form

her limbs of charming grace obeyed
the movements authored of her loins
            flowed fevered blood, attendant souls
dominion, leagues from hope or grasp

the moon so kissed her faultless skin
and dressed her with its pearly veils
sweet bane of gods, bereft restraints
if naught but lips could press her own

and so when fortnight twice had been
dear Luna’s face, on Heaven, gorged
there, high atop the crag, she whirled
to tempt the phantoms, deep the void

and then, long last, that specter, lone
of shimmered aspect, come to dance
her faultless flesh - that sallow clay
with press of hands, he did compel

and there, o’erhead the battling brine
a bargain mocked and yawning moon
she joined her haunted scoundrel and ...
danced off ... to greet the mortal coil.
