Love Poem: Ephemeral

Ephemeral

Here you and I are trapped today
Lest rain and flood wash us away.
We cannot leave, we cannot stay;
We each must go on our own way.

What we must do, we must do now.
We will remember, anyhow,
The rapid, rising torrent’s call;
The ephemeral storm we feel.

And when the storm has drifted past,
And we are free to go at last,
Lightning’s passion and thunder’s roll
Will follow us where’er we go.
