Love Poem: Death of a Loved One

Death of a Loved One

"Those we love don't go away; They walk beside us every day; Unseen, unheard but always near; Still loved, still missed, and dear." Quote_ Anonymous I will never forget when mother passed, with one last gasp her soul entered a new domain: her body died and she had peace at last, but the love that we shared will never ever wane; for I believe after death we live on, we are in two realms and are never truly gone. In a pretty cemetery she rests, but when I visit .. my mother's soul is not there: for I believe in this world we are guests, I touch that name stone engraved and say a prayer; my mother's soul surrounds me each new day, she is that bird song, the rain, snow and trees that sway. Heaven's golden gate will never be chained, and mother's soul I embrace ... until my last breath: for I shorn my human fear of the unexplained, I let go of ignorance about death; no longer am I blind in the darkness of gloom, each soul exists beyond an earthly tomb. I live each moment in the present now, accept that my mother's death I will always grieve: found my higher self on the path to Tao, and a new map and unique existence ... I weave; a way taking me to sublime insight, where each day I am bathed in golden sunlight. ____________________ April 02, 2023 Poetry/Rhyme/Death Of A Loved One COPYRIGHT PROTECTED, ID 04-1538-813-02 All Rights Reserved, 2023, Constance La France Written for the Premiere contest, Death Of Loved One sponsor, Unseeking Seeker, Judged 04/05/2023 First Place
