Love Poem: Dangerous Boy

Dangerous Boy

Shy curious, cute and coy
is how a good girl acts with a dangerous boy.
Hurt, confused, played like a toy
is how a good girl feels with a dangerous boy.

Clock ticks, alarm rings, time flies.
Two years pass, here's what I find:
Dilapidated ship on a rocky sea,
you're trying to find where you stand.
Here I am, do you recognize me?
I am stable, I am home, I'm your land.

What was once fire in your eyes
is put out by water as you apologize.
What was once rebellion in your walk
is won by humility as you softly talk.
A sailor who once took in a lot of territory
now faithfully has eyes only for me.

Safe, trusting, warm in your hands
this is how a girl feels with a changed man.
