Confessions of a Reject

You build me up
I fell, I slipped,
Secrets spilled;
I trust you.

I'm smiling from miles away,
I'm giving while you take
It's okay.
I love you.

I want to give all of me.
You say you want me,
take me, have me
Please.
No more whispered words in the dark,
no more squeezing into my heart,
just to jump out, leaving your mark.
I'm scarred.
Your name tattooed on me,
your song sung in me.
Your words are in my head.
I love you, I love you
I want you, I want you
Then take me, have me.

Here's my heart.
I'm sending it the only way I know how.
And I hate sneaking around.
But he looks at me with your promises in his eyes;
and when I kissed him,
it was with your lips in mind.
I don't want him to have me,
but I need him to want me.

When I fell for you,
I didn't expect to get up bruised
you were supposed to catch me.
Instead you left me
feeling second
 by your rejection
of my heart.

I wanted you to have mine
since I thought I had yours.
