Love Poem: Cold Winter's Night

Cold Winter's Night

I’m lying in my bed
the wind is howling,
rain drops splatter
against the windows

it’s getting colder now
I’m missing you even more tonight
the blankets a dim comparison
to the warmth you body

you can turn something cold
into something heated
ignite a fire with just your touch
how I need to feel that, especially tonight

the only warmth I have to cling to
is the message on my phone,
the promise that in just a few days
I will be in your arms again
where I belong
and this cold winter’s night
will be a distant memory…
