Love Poem: Cherry Picking

Cherry Picking

There was a time when cherry picking was a family affair,
An excuse to get everyone out in the fresh air,
No matter what they chose to wear.

Now when we hear the phrase,
It no longer brings to mind images of the fruit we praise,
Or gives comfort to those with a family to raise.

For all but a few country Bumkins,
And those who still grow their own pumpkins,
In its modern form it produces no healthy outcomes.

Now that cherry picking is mostly virtual,
Most things are not that factual,
Except for the high price of real cherries which is actual.
