Beyond Words

Like the empty smiles Addictions hide behind Her grief secret, silent Coloring her in a heavy doubt Darkness speckled in glimmers Hope that could be read In the moments, breathed On the song of stardust Dreams, reflections poured out In lavender creams, gentle Like a rainbow’s end stalking The storm, threatening To lift the shadows of streaming Echoes, feelings erased By melancholy and rainwater Like the lazy melody Pulsing from yesterday’s inspiration Her prayers go unnoticed Nobody knows her anguish Sin follows her, breathless From the darkness that stills light Luring tears who slide, quiet Like dewdrops over a petal Leaving only the hint of moisture To remind the heart of its presence The embrace of feelings, Emotional mysteries and pleasures Promising to sooth away Each fear, all the worries, the dread That dims even the breath The life that is stirred by firefly wishes Like the persuasive pen Writing hope into novels, poetry Drawn into the antiquity By forces from spilled ink Shed by bloody hands Who play with nouns and verbs Sketching darkness with words Depicting death and life Stealing and sacrifice Rumors of wars and strife Along with gifts of grace, insight Into the soul who abides With endless tales, stories Arousing faith in the One Who knows that our hearts, Like candles in the wind Need only to be blown upon By the gasp of His acceptance His mercy and forgiveness The suspension of all guilt Shame is lifted – hearts are glistening With the promise of heaven Where there is forever peace and love Impressions that come from above Like the faded feelings Gentling every misgiving With appeals for His wisdom Reassuring, erasing the iniquity Restoring grace and living In the warmth of His light, His favor Where love abides, smiling On imploring lips, Glorifying the creator of us all The One who is light and love The peace from His spirit The eternal promise, the conviction That redeems and delivers Rebuilds the relationship between The sinner and the Savior Awakening a sense of fulfillment That comes alive when we admit He is everything – He is the way To make peace with the past To silence the anxiousness To know what it means to love With a love that only He can rouse… Love like this is pure goodness, Kindness, decency, virtuousness The wholesomeness of grace Love like this is the promise of faith… Abide in His light – His love And forever find peace and hope Wonder that restores the heart Salvation that leaves the soul whole!
