Baseball, Bible and a Boy

~~ A Grandmother’s Memoirs~~

God, did indeed, more than bless me with jeweled, precious memories.
And a family living so near. That’s no small thing, these days, when you only see family, once a year!

I held my grandson since a babe, I fed and changed him everyday, while his parents worked to secure a future for them all.

I had the joy of seeing him taste his first drop of rain.
I watched him grow and master the piano.
And the best was ……he learned the Bible. He still studies it each day.
He made movies on my iPad, such a creative a child and pleasant tyke, he was!
A barrel of laughs he always was.
I cried when he had to go school, but picking him up daily, was my pleasure and the golden rule.

I have all his McDonalds toys, race cars, soldiers that still wait for him. But in my heart grieving for days long gone.

A Little Leaguer since age six!
Then Tournament baseball. I saw him less and less.

Sixteen years so quickly passed. I want them back, but they live on, in my heart’s chamber beating in the velvet folds of the night.

Now, he travels the states, and to improve pitching ….
He shall never know, how my hours, breaths
days, years, he made so enriching!

He just made the Junior Varsity Basebell Team.
Edward, my six foot, tall grandson-king!
