Backspace To Love Unwound

Written: July 09, 2023 ______________________________________________________________ In this digital age, where love can be found, I dream of a world where Backspace is profound. If I could turn back time, oh, the things I would do, To undo the mistakes and start anew. I'd hit back all day long. Erasing the words that came out wrong Caps Lock would be my weapon of choice. Shouting my love with a powerful voice. Using the whole Alphabet, I'd say hello, Each letter is a reminder of the love we used to blow. And with seven numbers, I'd dial your phone. Waiting eagerly for your sweet voice to be shown. Tabbing through comments I didn't wish to hear, Using the arrow keys, your body I'd draw near. Deleting effluvial words from my lips, they would flee, Inserting "I love you" that I couldn't set free. I'd print out your photo, holding it tight. Kissing it goodnight, longing for you every night. Using the calculator, I'd check if we were right. If our love still had a chance, if it could ignite With a brush in my hand, I'd paint a picture so grand, Of you and me together, hand in hand. And when it's complete, I'd hit enter so keen, To show you the love that in my heart's been seen. But alas, these are just dreams, illusions of strife, Backspace doesn't work in the real world's life. In this digital realm, where love can be found, I crave a love that can't be unwound. So I'll cherish these memories, these dreams I hold dear. And hope that one day, you'll be near. But until then, I'll prevail typing away. Using my keyboard to express what I can't say Mastership will be keeping my heart in control. Escaping the lies that tore us apart took a toll.
