Love Poem: Ah, I Loved Lassie

Ah, I Loved Lassie

There once was a dog with flowing hair.
She lived on a farm; they loved her there.
Her boy, Timmy, brushed her coat with care.
Inseparable, they lived as a pair.

Love stayed and shared adventures for years.
Timmy treasured tracking through the land.
Lassie was loyal, life never bland.
Their friendship brought joy, suspense, and fears.

Tensions never saw dry eyes.
If Lassie was ever hurt
Attentions, and fears alert.
As tears quickly flooded cries.

If ever Timmy was in danger,
By a critter or by a stranger,
Imaginations set to conjure.
Lassie ran for a nearby ranger.

Anyone who watched them, surely knows
He resolved risky problems, fought foes.
Lassie has battled wolves nose to nose.
Save and sound, Timmy's confidence grows.

I too, have enjoyed animal friends.
And loyalty that through years ascends.
Their persona and mine seemed to blend.
Watching them makes my joys transcend.
