Love Poem: A Friend To Call Home

A Friend To Call Home

A person is a person no matter how small
A friend is a friend, no matter how far...

My love for you will never unwind
Or unbind from the consciousness of my mind
Or my heart
It will never wade too deep into the caressing
Movements of the water
Or blush
Too hard to satisfy the foolish debtor
Never shall it find itself in the arms of another
Lover, pushing out the wrongness of its doing
Seize my heart, if it ever
Snickers and bounces at the sound of your name
Don’t you dare believe for a second
That it will look for satisfaction in
The land of a foreign mouth,
Where everything blends into
A jumble of uninterpreted words
For a minute, believe that a companion
Doesn’t just sit at the tip of the brain
But runs through the veins
Sending a cold mumble down
The spine and makes one wonder,
How well someone can know,
But no more than thee?
