Love Poem: A Bachelor's New Year

A Bachelor's New Year

Thoughts in his head as he tries to sleep
Cause him to ponder, remember and weep
All the great things and all the mistakes
He knows there is a reason he is still awake
Can it be his Creator’s own guiding hand?
Or an epiphany in his mind set for foreign lands?
Alas, these are the headaches that cause so much pain
So much to lose, yet so much to gain
One can never set aside the dawning of the morrow
For it holds adventure, happiness, regret and sorrow
The thoughts of dear loved ones causes temporarily healing
Then immediately the anger is much more revealing
And as he scolds those there who are there to help
He pushes them away thinking “I am no whelp!”
The cold winter winds are wretched and fierce
Into his soul they demolish and pierce
He then falls to his knees and begins to pray
To anyone who help make this storm go away
Finally out of the winter abyss
A figure appears and grants him a kiss
A kiss full of passion, warmth and desire
It nearly turns this winter storm into St. Valentine’s fire
Immediately it stops, all the world goes to black
He is awake in his bed, safe from attack
The answer to his loneliness has become perfectly clear
This resolution will come in the next New Year
