If Love Does Not Live (Sonnet For Celene Crescent)

If love does not live so that love may live,
Wrecked on rugged rock like a pirate ship;
Tiresias speaks to hearts—no love to give,
Darkness and void with no inspired lips;

If love is quashed short of its golden prime,
Like dinosaurs smashed by a meteorite;
Crushed from its age of blossoming on time,
Like breath strangled from life not to unite!

Then O’ love, send me Pegasus to ride,
Spread your wings—lift us to Zeus in the sky;
Touching constellations with them abide,
Creating cherished crescendos for weepy eye:

Lightning life beaming love from golden clouds
Descending passion upon earth erasing shrouds!

My Blessings...

Steven, My Love, my best friend in life,

Parents that support me in whatever I do;

My two puppies Zeus & Eos (both mutts)

My heritage of Potawatomi, Huron and Sioux;

A family willing to lend me support,

A wonderful house to come home to;

A simple world I can call my own,

My siblings, out there to help pull me through;

My horses willing and full of heart,

And all of my friends - Old and New;

My semi-good health and happiness;

And the passion that writing allows me to peruse!

Love Letter Ii

Oh Aphrodite, Goddess of love
For you, my heart yearns for Olympus on high
As my lover's eyes scan sunsets above
They pour love into the birth of a sigh
I'll follow the course of a lover's stream
To argue with Zeus over what is a sin
As we leave Olympus with love and a dream
Love will cause us to be mortal again
To make love's diamond from blackest coal
And scorch landscapes with smoldering desire
Yet, be the flames burning out of control
With mortal hands, we'll light the raging fire
Oh Aphrodite, Goddess of love
My heart will steal you from Olympus above

Immigrant Girl

IMMIGRANT GIRL
Remembering this night of our last touch,
when nothing is between us we should know,
in love with loving you, and just how much
I wonder where in time do such nights go?

Forbidden like a box all sealed up tight,
or like the burning Zeus refused to share
with mortals such as we, and on this night,
Pandora's box is opened everywhere,

you are, this night, my first and only love
and always shall remain this part of me,
created from the earth and waters of
our night when Aphrodite let it to be.

And I am more than blessed for loving you
illegal though you are, it's what l do.

To Calliope, Chief of the Nine Muses

My muse sighs and leaves me unwell
and cuckolds me like faithless love
as if she's ne'er my god or belle,
afflatus or creative breath
who came from the summits above
to save me from poetic death!
"Why go, O Calliope!?" I yell;

her leaving brings about such woe
and inexpressible sorrow
that's too profound, too deep to tell:
I pray to Zeus I'll never know
     this Melancholia of hell!
My muse sighs and takes leave of me,—
I yell, "Why go, O Calliope!?

Love gushed and I cried
Slowly he pushed harder, joy
Pleasure in my heart!

Silence around me
Only my voice thrills out loud
Zeus must be jealous!

Rain fell hard outside
With his hands, the cold was gone
Only I burned hot!

Eternal session
Over and over again
Me being his doll!

My Athena,

How sweet is my girl Joan whom I adore.
Much like an ancient goddess handed me
then by Zeus great god known from ancient lore.
This my Athena, choicest maid that be.
To my heart's closed door she now holds the key.
All I have I give free on low bended knee.
This my love I have laid before your throne
A source for thy well being my dear Joan.

The Sleep of Endymion

The Sleep of Endymion

Endymion, a simple title I must impose upon
He, son of Zeus, fell in love with Huntress Diana
Goddess of the Moon, nightly she swooned
about him and bathed him in her light,
She went to Zeus, asking for his immortality- her plight
And thus Zeus granted her wish- for Diana to
adore Endymion every eve, he will be in eternal sleep.

His beauty, this simple shepherd, mythic
Diana's love- nightly shone from Olympus.

The Sleep of Endymion immortalized by a painter
Sits in the Louvre, for all to view
Anne Louis Girodet de Roussy-Trioson
Executed perfection in 1791-
The Maiden Moon and her lover
Forever as one.

Zeus

He’s there for me through thick and thin; Closer to me than my next of kin; With big ole feet, a long wagging tail; And a nose that’s never lost the trail; His long droopy ears have caught many a tear; But I always have comfort whenever he’s near; And I know whenever I am upset, He’ll be there, my loyal pet; He’s got my back, no matter what, My silly mongrel and devoted mutt; My baby Zeus, My faithful friend; The one that will be there till the end.

Your Beauty Is Eternal

Your beauty eternal -
Hazel eyes aglow!
Windows to your soul -
Beauty not only external

Long, black, soft, thick hair -
None other so fair
My heart races when you're near
Your leaving, my greatest fear

Your body, like Helen of Troy -
Nations it could certainly destroy!
A heart of gold you possess-
Your soft, feminine hands -
I love to caress

Your neck, so supple, and smooth -
When I kiss, feels like a soft rose blooth
Your lips like crushed, red velvet
Their taste I daily covet

Zeus himself would beg to marry
But my love, you'd never betray or bury -
Your love for me, true and unconditional
Yes! Your Beauty is truly Eternal!

Rekindle Our Starry Love:

The word planet means wanderer in Greek, Venus being the brightest of them all, In the Milky Way stars are there to seek, Pluto was once a planet I recall. When the Moon is shining none can compare, It's beauty and grace it captures the night, She shines for all and for all that is fair, The war planet Mars gives off a red light. Zeus is Jupiter for his massive size, All the planets can fit into his sphere, Father of the gods and gracefully wise, Many stars come out on a night that's clear. So lie next to me and stare up above, And we can rekindle our starry love.

Queen of the Night

Of what maze is time-
That a little petal solves?
Blossoming in dim light
Against the cliché it holds

Strong when the ends are-
Seen, weak when the ends are bleak
The tradition of-
Eon a burden long borne

Scents when the mind rest
Bloom when the muscles tremble
Like a ghost it breaks-
Free from solitary cage

As the bud blossoms
Shiny in the midst of trees
Showy it attracts
Femme-fatale but love to me

Zeus among it peers
So blemish like a goddess
Like Ozymandias-
She stands beholding beauty

My Design

Once, my birth was simple:
you made me up unwillingly;
I leaped from your forehead like
Athena did from Zeus'.
You were more than just a father-figure
and back in those days
you found joy in my design.
From a glance of you
I learned the light,
from another: the darkness itself.
I craved to know more
but somehow,
         you lost the will to teach me;
to finish my making real.
And now,
in the embrace of your torturing abandonment
I became my own midwife:
to learn my own creation,
to be my own design.

Selene, the Silvery Moon

Her golden crown shone brightly through dark-quiet.
Adorned, in robes of earthen hues and flowing
Fiery dragons pulled her silver chariot.
Clasping whiteness within her hands, love glowing.
Selene kneeled before her father to beg him.
Her love’s eternal sleep and youth, her new whim,
Nightly, now, she treks the skies for love treasured.
Zeus granted her wish, sleep upon her shepherd.

My Sinner Man

Lord, how I love my sinner man, my Satyr.

My copper skin sinner man with the hard body of Zeus.

My teacher of debauchery.

My leader into a life of hedonism, I am his nymph.

Heavens knows I tried to resist this flute-blowing faun.

I am unhinged by his lovemaking.

Yet I want to spend every wakening moment with him.

I hunger for;
His passionate seductions.
His gentle touch.
His warm embrace.
His hot breath.

Blissful is our hours together.
Blissful is our days in delightful pleasure.

What a new world he has introduced me to.
Lord, how I love my sinner man, my Satyr.

He Was Mine Till Fate

He stood in front of the mic resembling Zeus
Such a gift of gab, I caught my breath
Who knew that one day I'd have to choose
A decision creeping against my will like death

He was mine for a few seasons in the sun
joy and laughter was our daily bread
Love hidden like bullets in a gun
The sweetest sin, forbidden yet ever so grand

Seasons ceased and i had to let him go
Not what i desired but fate forced my hand
Watching him walk down the aisle was a blow
Pain washing over me like waves on sand

I will always love him with every heartbeat
In my heart he was mine right from the start
Though he ran into Luck and lost his feet
He was indeed mine till fate do us part

Laughing Eyes

Round and round we go,
the day won't last.,
it keeps a secret you can't hide..
no, can't hide it.

Eagle sent to eat my liver-
renewed each night..
Will Zeus feel remorse and forgive
me..,
giving her my fire.

Round and round again,
a captured cuckold heart..
touching that crocodile smile,
left behind right from the start.

Bring those baby rose lips..
you know I never blame them.
Eyes to breast lie fixed,
Winking laugh knowing,
there's no shame in.

Change of Season

as the cool air blows
the barren wasteland regrown
a luminescent glow
feeds the reeds
feeds the trees
photosynthesis reborn
the budding of fruit
nourishment
webs are casted
sails are masted
in preparation of the morn
of the sweet candescent norm
Spring is love
it rises in the air
like a gryphon's wings
as songbirds sing
they float
they gloat
to feel the air beneath my wings
does there happen to be a thing
which i wont do to then have seen
that view which eagles do see
as they look down from high above
is it not obvious why Zeus has chosen
as his form whilst unfrozen
‘neath the snowy mountain top
Olympus

They Are the Sun

They are the sun--
Hurting you with but a look--
Bewitching as the red rays of the morning dawn.
With only a glance Cupid is your victor--
Many times the better of even the mighty Zeus--
Alas so painful is their beauty...
So hypnotizing...
They are a slayer of men and women alike.
For so powerful be their attraction that like the Sirens of old
To linger upon would be thy doom--
A gift from the gods...a gift of Aphrodite...
And a curse of Fantasia,
Gigantomastia

Railroaded

Is that the sound of a train whistling
Or, the sound of my heart a pumping

As I espy you waiting on the platform
I wonder if you’re the vision of reform

En route to San Diego and looking fine
Rolling in motion on track twenty nine

Railroaded with me, our steamy desires
Threaten to drag this trolley through fire

Are you real? Can I touch? Just one hug
While the train steams away chug a chug

Let’s make love, while we rock the caboose
Two hearts, one great start, oh great Zeus!

We’ve arrived in great shape, so let us stay
Together molded as the potter and his clay

liam and mystic

Requiem Eternal

If you now leave, sun dies removed from me.
Thus made dead by your callous play of mind.
Can light soon strike this sickened soul which ye
have placed in a dark grave, which nay is kind.
Once new love flamed within self, mine heart’s keep,
not so now, maid, ‘twas foolish wanting mate.
Past days for me brought great joy, I’d dance, leap.
all laid aside in my rejected state.
Tip ye cups oh gods, you’ve won mightily,
poor soldier wanting victory less grave
than breaching high walls e’er nay to flee.
Zeus, I give thee such heinous name as knave.
Yon retinue laughs, goddess twisting braids.
All while this candle flickers yea and fades.
