marriage, romance, travel, vacation,
A gondola floats o’er romantic tides
as you and I caress Venetian skies
laced deftly in exalted stars applied
by brushes dipped in hues of lover’s eyes.
A kiss beneath Rialto Bridge in spring
feels like our first so many years ago.
On every breeze, O Sole Mio sings
a serenade in city lights aglow.
This hope of love rekindled miles from home,
could be our chance to dream and reminisce.
Enlightened by a full moon’s wink, we’d roam
down Grand Canal in gleaming nights of bliss.
Our renaissance, a second honeymoon -
to Venice, we could not escape too soon.

Evening smiles at lovers
Whispering sentiments
Above the sparking
Waters of Venice.
I long for you..
Cathedrals recall
Clandestine kisses,
Moments spent lingering
Underneath its entwined castles.
If you wait...
Amber leaves swirl
Leaving vivid afternoons
Alive with romance and
Warm laughter.
..Someday, I will come
Passionate sunsets
Illuminate a thousand
Smiles
Treasured
As the rarest jewels.
To tell you that...
Slow dancing in the
Rain,
Brings
A promise
Of
Forever.
--I love you.

Without you, Emily,
I don’t want anything,

I desire everything,
From Connecticut,
Of fine musical,
Without you, Emily,
I don’t want anything,
With you, Emily,
I love everything,
To jump in a balloon,
Flying over New York,
Without you, Emily,
I don’t want anything,
With you Beatrice,
I desire everything,
To suck on lullabies
To write poems,
Without you, Beatrice,

With you, Emily
I desire everything,
To see the pyramids,
To steal the Mona Lisa,
Without you, ladies
I’m too sincere,
I can’t forgive people.

Lovers gather, yelling "carpe diem"
Lovers kiss, living with totem
Lovers fall, counting walls
Lovers forget, crushing falls.
Love birds chirping as one
Under a tree skipping one by one
Above the bassinet where cuckoos nests
Below the cradle are loving breasts.
Rush to me and sail with me
On a gondola in Venice we flee
Gaping romanticism in idealism
Dying dualism without ostracism.

Paris in the spring time,
As the world comes to life,
I'd be on someone else's dime,
Fall in love and forget my strife.
Los Angeles for the glamour,
I'd mingle with the stars,
I'd watch the paparazzi clamour,
To get the scoop in high end bars.
Fiji for sand, sea and sun,
I'd laze on the beach,
The nights would be fun,
My worries out of reach.
In Rio de Janeiro, I would dance,
In Rome and Venice, I'd find romance.

VENICE
In a gondola
with a handsome Italian
whispering in my ear
“Ti amo”.
He caresses my hair,
my soggy hair.
Drenched kisses.
Rain.
The gondolier
soaking wet.
Droplets of water
escape his hat’s rim
splashing.
He doesn’t sing
“O Sole Mio”.
The grayish buildings,
take a shower.
The soiled water drains
into narrow side walks
and further into the canal.
Under every dripping bridge
another kiss.
Water everywhere.
Romance drowns.
“Ti voliglio bene,”
my date whispers.
“I have to pee,”
I answer.

adventure, imagination, language, romance, sweet love,
Standing by my window this afternoon
I raise my glass to Venice in parting
Three days at the Venetian Lagoon
Down Rialto Bridge on a taxi we're riding.
"Buona giornata, Mademoiselle" greets
The room boy smiling, " Fiori per te"
I put the fresh bouquet on crumpled sheets
"It's masquerade ball tonight, my Lady."
"I will meet you at eight", was the letter
In awe of da Vinci's Mona Lisa
Mio Dio, I can't take my eyes off her
"We'll take our next flight to Casablanca."
He whispered with masked eyes staring at me
Tongue tied with every word my love goes on
An impression of love deep as the bluest sea
To you, my beautiful thinking, Godspeed anon.

Well, there is no free seat;
Fields run in the infinite green;
Yellow waves cannot win heat;
Such eyes, belong to a queen...
He saw the other short menace:
Pay attention to pickpockets !
In the crowded train to Venice:
No room for other prophets...
Dreaming all love's loving parts.
However, there is no warning:
Beware of the thief of hearts.
Will I meet you again, morning?

Venice canals, a gondola
A love song on the mandola
The notes I play ring clear and bright
They waft and float into the night
There beneath the light of moon
That shines on you, illumed, I swoon
But catch myself before I fall
Your beauty has me steeped in awe
You shift your body on the seat
Then look at me with eyes so sweet
You pat the spot that's next to you
For me to sit, and so I do
And then the greatest thing takes place
You place a kiss right on my face
Then say, "You know, right? Dos, I do"
And I respond, "I love you too"
...Cara Mia, Ti Amo Con Tutto Il Cuore...
