I Love That Bug

In Deutschland they're called Schmetterling
Mariposa down in Spain,
And although they're called, by different names
They're really quiet the same
Borboleta sounds like fun to say
and Farfalla twist my tongue
But when they're seen in France
They're simply Papillon
But in the Scottish hills
Where they migrate with desire
They call them Dalán-dé
When trans-lated mean "Gods Fire"
No matter what you call them
When their beauty meets my eye
I have to take a moment
To enjoy the Butterfly

A Scary Movie

The kind of film most women love to see
is all about romance, thus women pick
a type of show that paints the fantasy
of love sublime, so it’s dubbed a chick flick.

I like the fun ones and the sad ones too,
but there’s another genre I like more!
Though dramas with great plot will always do,
there is one type of drama I adore!

There’s nothing like good horror and suspense.
Inside the theater there is a hush
as tension builds, and feelings grow intense,
for your adrenaline will get a rush!

The films like Hitchcock made I never missed.
I love a scary movie with a twist!

A Stepmothers Love

Hug him,
Comfort him,
Nurture him,
Her guise a sweet yet cunning ruse.

Break him,
Twist him,
Ruin him,
She was my fathers own to choose.

Hold him,
Calm him,
Kiss him,
A joyless game to play.

Drown him,
Choke him,
Smother him,
I almost died that day.

Breath taking,
Promise making,
Seraphim,
Two minds two worlds apart,

Soul faking,
Heart raking,
Psychopath,
I saw this from the start..

I Said Yes

I said Yes

Your passionate words took over me and to anything
I said yes
And the way you made my hair twist and the way you made my toes curl
I said yes
Or when you held my hand
Oh! I do understand
I said yes
Your positive aura asks me do I want more of….
I said yes
Given permission a collaborative composition
I said yes
Before giving in this was set for me to win
I said yes
Taking me everywhere
Giddy here and there
I said yes
My whole world is shaken not stirred
Giving me all the goods is what I preferred
And I said yes

Heat

Her songs come and make love to me
each note stroked so enticingly
they twist and they twirl
engulfing her pearl
I reside deep in Calliope

Entwined we are starved by the night
two souls that are holding on tight
'low passionate skies
entranced by her eyes
I make her my lunar delight

Tongue tips and teeth that desire
true love that's burning on fire
stare down our sure death
both gasping for breath
this heat can't get much higher

Acts of Faith

Each day begins as an act of faith.
We cross our thresholds and expect
That no cruel twist of fate
Will stay us from returning.

But the twists await us in their careless abundance,
Well we know, in our hearts, that one day
There'll be no more coming home again.

For many it goes this way with love.
Love parts, returns, then parts again
Through all the shifts and flux of living,
Oftentimes traveling a little farther out,
Returning a little later
With every passing day, until one day, almost unnoticed
It comes not home at all.

I love and kiss the CVS people

I’ll get to the pills with a twist
The scripts filled by my pharmacist
If there’s a hiccup
Delaying the pick-up
Watch out as I might just get pissed

Treasured Love

My children, oh...I love them so
So much...more than they might know
Know matter their twist or their turn
Turn the page...for they will learn
Learn my love, for they all have
Have held forever in my heart; treasured
Treasured forever, dearly...are all my children

Yoga

Yoga had me do the plow
Twist my spine I just said how
Reset my spine feet overhead
To calm myself inside instead

To be so calm when drama’s rise
A symptom of complete surprise
My temper better held in check
Yoga has my just respect

My Yoga headstand is the best
I see it as my simple test
So natural normal once and then
Have done before and will again.

Don Johnson 30-4-11

Yes Yoga is the exercise
makes you flexible true
i must make time if i'm half wise
fore my bones get black n blue

thank you Caroline we agree Yoga does instill
the calmness flexibility, so im less over the hill")

When the Air Bends

I just pulled a little something
Straight out of nothing
With pen in hand I wrote it all down

If you don't grab it when
You see the air bend
You have to wait till it comes back around

I added a twist
So the words would all fit
Cause I love the way rhyming words sound

It came with a melody
Blown in by the breeze
They went together like a night on the town

I blew off the dust
Removed some of the crust
Added a verb along with a noun

Bundled them up
In yarns of thought
Then wrapped them both in this poem neatly bound

Yearning For You

I lounge in a chair, waiting.
I yearn as I watch
your delightful dance,
guitars strumming, flute haunting,
xylophone resonating.

You swirl, twirl, pause,
stoop, pirouette, spin as I’m glued to my chair.
Your skirt whirls, arms flail,
hips swing. You twist, swivel
as beads of sweat trickle
down your face, like a rivulet of emotion,
smudge your make-up,
but still untiring, the show goes on.

Your eyes gleam, your face beams,
I hear your laugh.
Still I sit and wait,
The music slows in a dulcet melody,
I yearn to dance with you and hold you tight,
But all I can do is wait.

The End Result

Where did love go, after so many years?
Did it fade away, or was it oneday, just gone?
When did the laughter turn to tears?
Did we let it go too soon, or did we hang on too long?

Sadly I learned that love can turn to hate,
Something that I didn't believe.
I saw it happening, it was a cruel twist of fate.
Because the end result was directed at me.

These questions linger, though I'm not sure why.
It makes no difference in my life now.
There is no reason to revisit years gone by.
Once was enough, a second time, I won't allow.

In the Step of Morning Dance

you've been absent for a long time, as a whisper
colored pencils of living cells
I wasn't aware of which story to look for you in
without it, I have lost a lot
a leg
a hand
a kidney
my head
until my heart was filled with longing
from the wooden lungs.
when you are in love with each other
at the core of the earth
thoughts have roots that twist
throughout all the sacrificial actions
to turn into a blessing despair.
an echo lost in the church bell reveals
the truth through skeletons thrown into a hidden closet
sunlight sealed the door
wrapped up in the morning
the lips in a step dance
after 100 years of breathing per minute, life begins.

Her

My love's eyes shine like a dark night's star
She'd say they are plane, just to see
My love look in the mirror at who we are
They are beautiful because of how they see me
When I explain in her what I see
The creator gifted, and you are blessed
She'll quietly argue and wholeheartedly disagree
It doesn't matter how sincere I protest
A walk in the woods amongst your quiet grace
I'm with you, that's all I care
I'm blessed when that room enlightening smile crosses your face
I'm awe struck and can't help but lovingly stare
I see your beauty in every twist, turn, smile, laugh, imperfection, and scar
My love haven't you yet realized I love you JUST THE WAY YOU ARE

Dance of Emotions

Sorrow only hangs her head
While walking to the floor
Pride wants all the attention
While Greed keeps seeking more

Shame hides behind the curtains
While Anger demands his way
Fear is too afraid to dance
Impatience just wouldn't stay

Joy was dancing all over the place
While Lust's heart began to burn
Love just watched with stars in her eyes
While Patience was waiting his turn

Confusion didn't know what to do
While Surprise was doing the twist
Shock was so appalled of it all
While Temptation just couldn't resist

The Broken Hearts just sit and cried
While Doubt didn't believe it was real
Now you've seen the dance of emotions
So tell me, how do you feel?

Catching Fire- Poem

This poem is inspired by the second book in The Hunger Games Series. Warning- Contains
Spoilers!

Sparks aflame
Fire and rage spread
Nowhere to go
Nowhere to run!

The capitol want's revenge!
They will do anything to get it.
Back into the arena I am sent
Pitting Peeta and I against each other.

A marriage proposal
never to be fufilled
they tricked us
It will never happen.

I have to go on
a twist in the story
Tick,tock,tick, tock
The arena is a clock

All living tributes
taken out of the arena
a official is secretly a rebel
wanting to overthrow the capitol

But where is Peeta?
No where to be found
Caputured in the hands of the capitol
I must save him!

'girl With the Perfect Smile'

A pic i saw
on my P.C. screen!
Her smile was
mind blowing, amazing & clean!

When she smiled,
her lips formed a curve!
It was so appealing,
I was compelled to observe!

When i checked out her eyes,
It sparkled like a gem!
I'm sure if she'd wink,
It would create mayhem!

'You Know Who'
is the name of the girl!
Her sweet little smile
made me twist & twirl!

Ice Blue Heart

Your heart is cruel and made of frigid steel
a sharpened chisel is your angry tongue
and with your tool you carve the pain I feel
each time all of your hurtful words are flung

You slash me as you twist the words I say
within you no compassion can be found
as pieces of my heart are chipped away
and die in crimson piles upon the ground

I question what lies in your evil mind
you act as if you are too blind to see
the way you hurt me with your words unkind
and how your vicious tool has damaged me

Why do you say you love me like you do
when your cold heart is dead and icy blue?

Knot In My Stomach

Annoying knot right in the pit
Of my stomach, please stop it!
You twist and churn with fear and dread
Echo voices in my head

Have you any clue who I am
What I'm up to as a man?
What's your job, why were you hired?
I think you suck, that's it, you're fired

Here's your pink slip, now be gone
You been here now for far too long
Sorry there's no space for you
I've simply too much left to do

I wish you well, it's been a blast
Redecorate your room at last
Dust the Cobb webs, walls are painted
Furniture's been re situated

Loving life, this brand new space
Without you up in my face
Happy feeling at peace with me
At home, in love, completely free

Patriot Guard Riders
September 2009

No more classes now that I've been fired!
Patriotism is my job: I’m retired.
The Patriot Guard rides almost every day
to bring a flapping flag line on display.
We ride to work with combustion and chrome
to bring the bodies of our brave troops home.
In a strange twist for love of our country
This Arab Albrak was a volunteer
who gave America his youthful years
to make Iraqui people finally free.
He gave his life: I give my afternoon
remembering our heroes at high noon.
	Packed in ice, he came home to his Mom;
his body was prepared by an Imam.

Tapestry of Mist

Tapestry of Mist

But was it an illusion
through the tapestry of mist?
…an imagination's twist?
…a feathered filled delusion?

Perhaps, t’was the admission
tired of living to exist,
but was it an illusion
through the tapestry of mist?

An angel apparition
softly smiling love’s assist…
telling her to coexist
with love, His strong tradition.
But was it an illusion
through the tapestry of mist?
