mother, mother son, sleep,
In Kolkata or in Rome
With rose or tulip
Every night we are back home
In our fond fetal sleep
Our body on its left side
The torso a little hunched
Knees bent in a comfort feel
Mom in a flower bunch
Whether snow or warmth
The fetal sleep is a medicine
The depressed bird from the north
Flying towards a warm sunshine
In a colored unconscious so dear
In our sleep we love our mother

flower, longing, love,
I smiled when lilac tulip bloomed,
I prayed for amber wings in rain.
On fiery leaves with love perfumed,
blue angels kissed her blushing chain.
How oft fir-kissed drops fall as gems
absorbing pangs of thirst from stems.
My bare soul drenched in velvet chrome
longs to rest in her musk-soaked home.
When lilac tulip bloomed, I prayed,
I smiled for amber wings in rain.
With love, perfumed blue angels kissed
her blushing chain on fiery leaves.
Afar, yet my love sings along
if only she'd hear a thorn's song.

flower,
I’m a lovely daffodil, yellow like the sun.
See me in my garden spot; I’m the mellow one.
Nearby are my tulip friends; how I love their hues.
But a bright blue crocus has turned into my muse.
In the breeze when all we blooms tend to brightly sway,
I keep hoping that blue crocus wants to look my way.
Hummingbirds and butterflies are great to see around.
There must be a hive somewhere. Bees surely do abound!
There’s this little chipmunk. Such fun antics he plays,
but it’s never long enough that cute critter stays.
Since I’m whimsical, Daffy you may call me.
I’m being visited right now by a honeybee!

flower, love, mom, sister,
In the garden where the sun still shone,
A white tulip bloomed, silent, alone.
No seed was planted, no hand did sow,
Yet there it stood, a soft, pure glow.
Its petals kissed by morning dew,
A whisper of love, tender and true.
It bloomed for her, who once was here,
A symbol of grace, a sign so dear.
Through seasons’ change, it bent with time,
A quiet tribute in perfect rhyme.
No words were needed, no tear nor cry,
Just a tulip’s bloom beneath the sky.
A mother's love, though she is gone,
Lives on in the petals, so calm, so strong.
In my sister’s yard, the flower stays,
A reminder that love never fades away.

light, love, valentines day,
You may love someone though parted
By many miles and many years,
And that love remains like a
Lovely tulip opening and closing
With the dawn and the dusk.
Years pass and life goes on. . .
But that love is never forgotten.
It glows with a golden light
Within the heart.
Letters need not be written,
Words need not be spoken.
Thoughts are enough to sustain that love;
Thoughts, and memories shared.
When I light a candle, it is for you
In remembrance of the burning embers
Of our love that will never grow cold,
Even as we grow old.

cute love, flower, happiness, heart, love, rose, sweet, word play,
A rose for all the daffodils
In rows by our new house
A flower for everything you bake
(I’ll cherish everything you make)
((And kiss the flour from your nose))
An orchid for the empty rooms
Which dog –or kid- will fill
A sunflower for the happy days,
Our son picking flowers up the hill
A daisy for my love for you
Beyond the day you can’t see
A tulip for when I’m holding you
Lip-to-lip, together for eternity
(Wrote this when I was fourteen. See the play on words? Like tulip and to-lip? Isn't it cute? :) )

Enchanted by her month when all life awakes
Smiles from childhood lovingly resurrect
Morning dew, tulip scent, warm days, birthday cake
Italian squeaked from mom, in exciting tone
Delay the kisses and gifts till Dad gets home
Sweetheart- unwraps bows in absolute rapture
Yearly this feeling she attempts to capture!
Love you my Sweetheart-

I open my petals to embrace you in.
With every strike of the wind,
Vigorous color flushed through my skin.
Splendorous blooming fields,
All laying to form a bed.
Awaiting your sway,
All to emit their lovely scent.

I love you my dearest one
My love is the sigh of relief
You took on the day we first met
Out of my heart flows fresh waters of love
That nurtures the tulips of Aramia
My heart yearns for you, cause from your
Lips flows all wine from the fruit garden
Having you in my life makes me a man born lucky
Pearls and jewels I will debank only to have you
Your smiles of pride are miracles of
"Mûre bouché a bouchee"
My dearest, you are never alone
Cause your eyes communicates "myosotis"
You are like a tulip amongst thorns that is
Plucked with careful fingers and lowered
Gently into a fluffy basket
I love you my dearest one.

Egbu's menacing stature a spur on
I balled through dusty Mbaraobom
Bought agidi ocha at Mbaraicheku
Unfulfilled,I waltzed pass Ndoru
To Okpara Square,then Eleme
Golden Tulip held no solace
Rosie,a snooker consolation
I wanted more
Emptiness,my gratification
Then,you nimbly came
Greatness in physique was not your gift
But your brains over boiled!
That,I saw(I know you didn't know)
Our meeting was like
Bonnie meeting Clyde,
But in sameness of sexes!
And a new world was created!
If I love you,it is because
When a kindred spirit meets another
The communion gives birth to
A new world order

The Splendid Tulip
No other flower has been the cause of savor
There are 16th century tulips beds of every flavor
Oriental pigments suited for an exotic bouquet
Garden visitors buy tulips with pots made of clay
The sparkling tulip arranged in a basket
A layout of tulips found by a love one’s casket
A wish for variety of tulips never gets loss
Beautiful composition at the right cost
Red, yellow, white tulips of splendor
Tulips in the window not associated with gender

Her purpose in life is love.
Making people happy,
Bringing great pleasure,
Colouring the world
With pleasing shows,
Her voluptuous shape,
Poses displays,
Exciting minds,
Igniting and kindling,
Explosive creative power,
Impressively
A winner among flowers
Catching the eye of suitors.
Drawing into her blooms
Tulip thirsts for attention
Absorbing energies of passion.

I have drawn
a flower
Pink tulip here
red rose there
I take them off

She Wasn't In My Net
Couldn't we be friends
My cute little butterfly
Your flight plan is in my path
Everyday sunshine
You bring from your loving eyes
Our eyes lock for that instant
And in that garden
You spread your wings beautiful
Dancing for me, I had thought
You take to the rose
I saw you with a tulip
My heart stopped to grab a net
You kept fluttering
Racing to the moon and back
I caught myself just in time

Morning Air
There’s something in
The morning air
Love and friendship
Is everywhere
People smiling, and
Shaking hands
Singing and dancing
Throughout the land
The scent of roses
Fill my nose
Chills and goose bumps
From the cold
The smell of coffee
Lingers there
Pancakes and Waffles
In the morning air
Prayers and blessing
Hanging near
The morning tulip
Bright and fair
Rain and sleet
Falling down
While Ice and snow
Covers the ground
Children playing
Here and there
Bringing Morning love
To fill the air

Free like the birds in the sky
Tender like a newly budded tulip
A clear minded soul with no grudges felt
Bouncing here and there with naïve eye
Missingly missing those “maami’s” cuddles
Her warmth sweet bitter lineage appraisal
That at dawn interrupts my sweet voyage
And in turn gets me singing “one, two, buckle my shoe”
I can’t help but remember
“Baami’s” whip each time I go wild
Oxymoronically beating me, telling me not to cry
Now tasty but then sour
Driving along the street with rolling tyres
Handly cushioning the rain
Dancing all around the hood with pant but no shame
With much within to aspire

childhood, education, nostalgia,
Sister Aloysius rings the bell
iron-railing straight she stands
habit flapping blackly
her triple-bolted thin-lipped smile
pursed against assault, or love,
while children shuffle past
their tulip heads averted
from her scything gaze
Jimmy from the Chinese
chip shop, smiling, filing past
What is so amusing?
children freeze, ice-blooded
in breath-held silence.
"Lovely morning."
Sister Aloysius
unlocks her bolted lips
hisses a crack-small stream of air
allows a Yes to escape.
the children
march, backs braced
into the shadow
of school
