I Met Her On a Tuesday

Hints of lilac filtered through the garden
a pretty butterfly just sat at rest
me lost in amazement
soft rays of sunshine clinging to my chest

The stone bench held my attention
as love notes floated through the air
my heart was in a flutter
sensing she was near

Her eyes were sweet as honey
her skin had that special glow
her lips so moist they begged for me
to memorize the passion that they showed

I met her on a Tuesday
that's when the world for me would shift
the stars shot past the heavens
as our souls would forever drift

Back To Origin

People are commonly different
Symbol of diversity piece
Pure race doesn’t exists

Color and creed are just an identity
Believe only in human history
God sculptured them from clay

People are equally created
Having many opposites
But respecting others taste

When everyone is treated equal
Nothing appears but peace in hand
Discrimination, disunity and, suffering won’t be born anymore

I Know I'M Alive

I know I'm alive
when I find the sky is blue,
when I find the birds are flying over the sky,
when the spring wind touches me lovingly,
when the scorching sun of summer spreads the scent of ripen jackfruits,
when the umbrella comes with my beloved under the seasonal rain drops

I know I'm alive and fall in love
when you come back to me after Eid vacation
and make me wait on the bank of Buriganga river

What Is Love

Humming a beautiful love song as I skip around the room the smell of fresh baked cookies as I enjoy this Tuesday afternoon Watching children play in the leaf piles out in the neighbor's front yard Daydreaming of a family together between me and you Days of smiles and nights of warmth in a cozy little home upon a grassy noll Giant oaks and evergreens along with an apple tree filling up our hillside where we'll picnic in the spring Holding hands and living dreams what love is supposed to be A note I'll write for you my dear about a time I do foresee Where my heart is full the beats ring true and love is all we live

Friends Forever

Friends Forever

Little did I know
that so early
you'll leave and go

A friend like you
is so hard to find
yet you left so quickly
leaving me behind

It was not your choice
but God's own will
he took your soul
and made you still

To heaven he called you
indeed a better place
there he'll keep you
with love and grace

From this world you are gone
yet still, in my heart
you will live on,
forever.

Dedicated to my 11 year old friend Shaniece who died on Tuesday in a car accident. You
will always be there in my heart.....*Love Maryam

Nuptial Vows and Bliss

P-erfect nuptial vows and bliss
A-re approved neath the heaven;
B-ride and groom are one,
L-et their hearts be
O-pen.

P-ure nuptial vows and bliss
U-se the words of love;
R-ighteousness they learn
I-s from the Father above.
T-he fifty-third anniversary of their marriage has come;
A-ll through their lives, the couple are not numb.

A-s the children remember them
S-eptember fifth Tuesday;
U-nder the wide blue sky,
N-o cloud has turned gray.
C-ommitted until forever
I-s the partners' promise;
O-ne faith and one trust make
N-uptial vows and bliss.

To Make a Place Or Room For

What is it like,
to be a broken thing?
A glass,
carelessly chipped
on the edge of
the sink;
a plate
smashed in anger.
To be placed
at the back of
the kitchen cabinet
and forgotten,
or swept out with the
trash on Tuesday.
Careful, we whisper,
ashamed.
I am sharp.
Do not cut yourself
on my jagged edges.
Until one day,
if fortune is kind,
we meet someone
and find,
their edges
fit with ours:
like your hand
in mine.

Metaphor and Simile We Flog Them So To Death

Oh I am a little metaphor
I love to play a word,
today I am a fortress on
Tuesday I’m a bird

On Wednesday I’m a simile
cos I’m like a train, storming
into history,to play this wordy game

On Thursday’s I push the boat out,
ploughing through the waves, then
Fridays I’m like a scimitar, slicing
through the raves

And if you catch me weekend, I
won’t hold a grudge, just take me
as you find me, wink, wink,
nudge, nudge, nudge.

If You Love Me

Two a.m. on a Tuesday
Got to go to work in four hours
Still lost in last night
Still not feeling right

You said you really cared
But you left me here alone
Still lost in last night
Still not feeling right

We spent the day together
And dined out alone
You said you really cared
But you didn’t say love

I parked the car along the sea wall
And we took a walk along the beach
You said you really cared
But you didn’t say love

So now I am alone
In a shallow mystery
Not sure if you loved me
Or you were setting me free

Yeah I am not sure if you love me
Or I should feel so damn lucky
And consider myself free…

Happy Tuesday

You are so grown now.
11 years old and seem like 26.
No mom, just me, and you are happy,
Thank you, God, for the gift of patience.
Honor student, eminently popular and talented.
Long hair, beautiful eyes and just as clumsy as me.
So smart for one so young, innocence lost.
Still want to be tickled good night, baby girl.
Daughter, friend, roommate, partner, goofball
You fill so many roles in my life.
You have made parenting so easy for me
Thank you, daughter. No reason. Happy Tuesday.

Through An Angels Wings

Each sunrise, A new day of hope and peace.
Each day begins and the old day we must release.
Something is watching over me and I don't know why.
I can feel warmth all around me when I look into the sky.
My family, My friends, all those I love.
In my heart, I sing for the lost ones up above.
Someone or something must be watching over us.
Every fiber of my soul, I beleive that and I trust.
I'm so proud to be given,
This new day full of living.
Everyday is a gift that makes me so happy I could sing.
This is what it's like looking through an angel's wings.

-Good Tuesday Morning my friends.

Philosophical Poetry Week: Transient Tuesday

I am a misprint,
Ink blot on love,
I remain a maybe
Longing for fact,
No speck of lint,
A hand in glove.
Thunder; a baby
Will only react

When you etch
Parallel clouds,
Whistling on cue
To a dead town.
Dream a sketch
Of silent crowds
Becoming you,
This boiling crown

Chews thought
Into flagellation.
Holes in the walls
To spy through,
Seeking a sort
Of bricked-up sun.
A heaven of halls,
All leaving you.

Tanabata Knock

Medusa’d
dishevelled,
and snake oiled gleaming

That day of grey Tuesday was remediously teeming

Simply chilli,
chopped onion,
or tragedy-eyed streaming

Girls Gone Wilderness,
cling-filminess;
two sopping wet cupfuls

I opened, then poured some number of n-tuples

We were one o’ those
fight nail,
tooth pick olive,
and lemon twisted couples

Trouble Trouble Trouble

Trouble trouble trouble
Just seems to follow me around.
Rainy Sunday Monday Tuesday
Since my baby he left town.

He said that he would call me
As soon as he was settled down
And then I could go and join him.
But that damn phone ain't made a sound.

Seems the clock is stuck in neutral
And the days they're just dragging by
And when I can't keep my hopes up
I just sit right down and cry.

People said that he was trouble
And he won't hang around for long.
And soon I would wake up to find
That that man was just up and gone.

So trouble trouble trouble
Please stop following me around
I'm so tired of being lonely
And having love just let me down.

For Lesa

On this path I travel, weary worn from the road less tread upon.I see nothing so fair as Thee.Yet for when I close my eyes perchance to dream of such beauty fair.Without compare or equal to the memories I keep for times of need as theses treasured ones I have of You.Lifted up on them alone, within a place of longing for naught forgotten friends.A love that while kept so long, yet still it casts these fettered chains of mine far flung and sets me free. No No

No pen for a pocket
No purpose with a pull
No left with a reason
No right with a rule
No lessons on Tuesday
No Wednesday at home
No makes for the model
No data on the phone
No recess like play tag
No fair with a wheel
No loving in a leaving
No steady for a deal
No next with rear view
No backseat like here
No address at Taylor rd.
No love seat like dear
No easy with an answer
No always with a true
No echoes at here that
No misses there but you

My Luke

In memory of my Chocolate Lab "Jean-Lucca Raffiki Harris". I lost him on Tuesday May 12. He will forever be the best of the best.

      My Luke
Goodbye my big guy
We had a great run
I’ll miss you for forever
The love and the fun
You were my guy, my boy,
           my son
Now go and rest easy
Your work here is done!

The Other

And the sun rays
crack and break
over my arm
a Tuesday morning
drizzling something
I think is love
over my memory
and the curtains
hang
full of our
hazy secrets;
of her name,
and his name,
leaving
no space
for us in between

And my day will begin
shedding hollow fingerprints,
with the recollection
of the other
who held the window ajar
and
sprinkled sunflower seeds
so the blackbirds
wouldn't
fly in.

Deputy Dawg

Old dogs will not learn new tricks
Young dogs love to play heads and tails and chase after sticks
Give a dog a bad name
Hi meet my new puppy, I called him Saddam Hussain
Your the man now dog
You son of a *****, thats rich
Every dog has his day
Monday, tuesday, wednesday, thursday, fido, saturday, sunday
Alpha male
Beta *****
Running with both hounds and hares
Cant make his mind up if he is a dog, who cares
A not unblack dog was chasing a not unsmall rabbit across a not ungreen field
Meanwhile the white dog ran after a hare through the rape seed
Meaner than a junk yard dog
$50.00 for an old fender
Hair of the dog
Too much grog
Go see a man about a dog
Go get some more grog

Japan and the Earthquake

Japan and the Earthquake

Japan in mourning

Japan in crisis

Wanting to be safe and protected

Wanting to live purer and happier lives

Toxic air, water, crops and energy kill many

Will this devastating milestone bloom into it’s original beauty?

Let us pray

Let us hope and love

Japan will heal

Missing You

I miss you Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursday,Friday..
So happy to see you Saturday and Sunday.

You'Ve Been the Best

Do you remember that week
On a Tuesday night;
You said you were leaving
And we got in a fight?

I lay on your bed
And cried on your sheets,
I tried to hide it
I didn’t want you to see

I stood in the shower
Slumped against the wall,
Broke the skin on my knuckles
Couldn’t feel it at all

The pain was too much
And it burned in my chest,
And of all my friends, love
You’ve been the best
