Running Tide

Knee deep in surf
The water clung to her
Changing silk gown
To wrinkled shiny skin
Never had I envied ocean water so
But then t'was I who'd let her go
Drowning in green eyes
With fear of clinging ties
Holding me back

Covenant of Love

he looks at her eyes
butterflies surf dreams within
strolling twilight beach

shooting stars make wish
Prince wakes up serene Snow White
something melts the night

stream of passion flows
non stop chimes of Cupid choir
crystallizing breath

backdrop of embrace
pearl in heart of oyster blooms
covenant of love

Surf N' Summer -

Into the wake of waves he rides. The surfer glides like bird in flight. He slips, gets up, head on collides, into the wake of waves he rides. His graceful dance with winds and tides shows love for ocean at first sight. Into the wake of waves he rides; the surfer glides like bird in flight.

House By the Sea

In our house by the sea
the gulls fall silent
the gulf winds have exhausted
their supply of salty scent
we grow languid
our eyes close with fatigue
my head upon her bosom
my sweetest friend
is trembling

In our house by the sea
never remove your arms from my neck
or shy away your lovely face
embrace and kiss me endlessly
let the hours be lazy and sweet
flowing like the warm southern wind
as we gaze upon the purple sash of sunset
entwined like serpents in battle
soothed by the avid tide and eternal surf

I Wander About

I wander about
like a fish out of water
in the surf blue sea

Me a traveler
in the congress of gray rocks
where carcajous howl

A vacant lot mind
wavered in the breeze empty
land soul never rests

Heart sighs seeks haven
warm breasts of the beloved
in my country home

I see the river
boatmen singing love ballad
flows out of water

Love Never Lost

The patterns of my life
Sifted through your heart.
The calling of the wind
Gives you a place to start.
The crashing of the tide,
The bubbles of the surf.
The roughness of my fingers
After time kissing with the earth.
The golden ray of eyesight,
And the shield black with pain.
The rumble of the thunder
Then its calming, soothing rain.
The time you kissed my eyelids
As night turned into day.
The way that Hamlet felt
When his Ophelia sank away.
You taught my heart to sing,
And my thoughts to find their place,
Then you sang yourself to sleep
Still creating time and space.

Caregiver's Road

Beneath a heavy weight I labored,
misunderstood by those I love and serve,
illness raging, family demanding,
expending soul and physical reserve.
Like a thin smoke quickly dissipating,
spirit tenuous, weak upon the road,
on the precipice of breakdown trembling
feeling endurance and harmony erode.

Along a peaceful stretch of sand walking,
listening to pounding surf, the birds,
tasting the invigorating sea air,
hearing in my heart God's voice, His words,
inviting nature in to permeate
my being, soothing the aching pain . . .
spirit at rest, on God's glory feeding,
I can go home, begin my work again.

Hand In Hand

Slowly we walk on the sandy white beach, hand in hand
A perfect Caribbean night, with sounds of the steel band

A little kiss, a little hug, a little happiness from above
The two of us together in paradise sharing our deep love

Making memories on the first night of the rest of our life
That beautiful vision sent to save me, is now my wife

Playfully we both frolic in the surf, as the tide gently rolls
Not a care in the world, two free spirits baring their souls

The harvest moon is beaming high painting a perfect setting
Two lovers absorbed in each other, forever remembering

Free As a Bird

Breathing wind
across ocean currents
Waves of a sea murmur
under tides turn over emotions awakening
Satin white washed surf

Beholding
upon the rocks
Beloved apex
a sunbeams brilliance

Wetly kissed
under a rainbow arch
Throwing light
of the moon spotlighting
dancing with the shadows

Crouching where the sun rests
Twilight fires burn amber
within clouds shooting gunbarrel grey

Winter On the Boardwalk

All of the summer tourists have gone away. Only a few residents like us will stay. Here we are on the New Jersey shore. The boardwalk, sand, and surf are what I adore. It is winter now, and quite cold outside. I still love the scenery, and I can't stay inside. Entrance into the cold ocean waves I don't dare. I can still take in the crisp, salty air. There are many seagulls flying around. They are making their laughing-like sound. Yes, you can see there remains much activity, That's what you can expect if you live near Atlantic City.

Life's Shores

Perpetually persistent, the sea will polish
its ragged rim - stone, no greater foe
than bone or shell, time makes all the same,
all to sand and then to dust.

My mind, intoxicated by horizon's edge,
a visual vixen, while the surf beguiles -
pulsing hypnotically.
A love, a passion that can never be owned,
always shared, and happily.
Space where predetermined fates become

infinitely miscible with all that has been -
all that will be. Here, where life
crept from water's womb,
I'm beckoned again and again
to revel on its shores.

The Island of Love

"The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever." ~ Jacques-Yves Cousteau

When Cupid’s wishes surf on the tail of a comet,
eventide envelops the tender skyline in stillness,
mirroring sparks of neon stardust on the shore.
Stroking the salt-laced sand in silken rhythm,
while hushed leaves surrender to the sea’s songs,
curating a silent reverie of drifting dreamers,
filling the amethyst air with indigo blooms,
as wind and waves merge, echoing secrets~
like heartbeats aching for a kiss of moonbeams,
amidst fluorescent tides twinkling in tune,
erasing tears in the blush of forgotten sunsets.

Surf Therapy

Mother Ocean please
Send me waves of such beauty

Surf

The sapphire surf is a lover
and few can deny her a kiss
that under her bosom hover.
The sapphire surf is a lover
and once lured beneath her cover,
she swallows you in her abyss.
The sapphire surf is a lover
and few can deny her a kiss.

Oh What a Love

The good looking dish and the man.
Were standing in surf on the sand.
   Her hand it did rest.
   Upon this man's chest.
Their eyes meeting as best they can.

They were wed on the beach it is true.
With such a big party and crew.
   Sweetheart from the soup
   took Ron from the group.
Two became one as winds blew!

They're happy as newly weds are.
Making love out under a star.
   They'll come back to earth
   when she does give birth.
To a miracle child. Oh my, by far!

Breathtaking Sunrise

Pacific murmur
Blond eyelids wake up seagulls
Happiness alive

Surf and rays in love
Paintbrushes escape from box
Immortality...

Tempera of Soul
Obsessive Golden Spectrum
Rip open my chest

Don' t need oxygen
Growing gills, play with dolphins
Sun alive again...

In Paradise

I close these eyes flower of destiny
as thoughts became fixed upon a crowned rose
sailing the seven seas overflowing joyous dream

Pouring out the highlights
the inner voice sings warmly chants
whistling with overwhelming happiness

Today waves touched deeply
in the rain I hold my hand out
wishing to kiss your fingertips

As love inside this ocean opens gate
unto salt of this earth footprints remain
pearl drops fall worshiping such beauty

Swept away into another world
washed pure is the surf
that kisses you my love forever

The Future Starts Now

Darkened clouds danced mightily for days thunder shook and lightning struck children took cover and old men wept finally the clouds stubbornly have been pushed away a loving sea breeze takes anchor and warms a chilly day I stand on the shore captivated by her beauty hues of orange and red fill a brand new sky a salty mist caresses my lips "somewhere over the rainbow where blue birds fly" resonates in my mind Reminding that there is hope and it's going to be okay White foam surf crashes into me and I can't help but smile for The past is long gone and the future starts now

The Ocean

I need the ocean to protect me,
                            with its pounding surf.
                         Able to beat back,
                             my strongest fears.

                          Building sand castles,
                              up to the sky.
                          Standing behind its ramparts
                              defending my soul.

When you are away from me,
                                     I need to oean.

Dead Poets Dance

We sing
Act
Die
Cry
Dance in the sky
We form societies
To read aloud
What others dare not say
From Shakespeare to Byron
Poe to Moe
We sit around smoke filled lounges
Spewing words forth
Love, hate, Hemingway’s mojitos staring in mirrors
Whiskey permeates the air
Smokey flavors absorbed into flowing ink
Towards the graves
We always gaze onward towards the graves
From the inside out, and looking up on coffin roofs
The seas of depression like waves to surf
Some might say we any maniacal and crazy
Today we welcome a new member

Tropical Love

Tropical Love

Colorful petals, huge tender soft leaves,
Intricate patterns, the type spiders weave.
Gentle breezes, smelling the ocean salt,
Embedded crystals where the surf may halt.
Bright colored finches flocking through the air,
Loud racket is heard from a hidden lair.

Rainforest splendor, how precious it sings,
Tropical colors on butterfly wings!
Georges blossoms in an Edenic bay,
Colorful orchids take my breath away.
Gigantic geysers spraying in the air,
Lava is flowing, too hot to be near.

My passionate love, as we stop to rest,
Relaxing in comfort against my chest.

Eternity Glows

Circle of a world
you warmly surround me
Holding visions of a dream
Melting chocolate to the soul

Cupping hands together
captures pulse beats awakening
sunshine through misted bridge promise
dewdrops each morning

The eyes opening crystals
those of a deep ocean wave takes hold
Satin touching softly velvet silk
pearls washed pure fragrance

Within a starlight kisses cheeks
singing rivers in delight
Beholding you beautiful
Arrowhead of Cupid Striking

Surf falling down deeply
sweeping winds rising
an angel the heart's wings
flying with grace sparkling back
