Falling

At first
love floats like a snowflake,
until it melts in your hand.

Then it falls,
like an Autumn leaf,
eventually swept away in the breeze.

Sometimes love offers mercy,
like April showers to rose petals,
but no rain can save from decay.

Love wants to be free like a kite,
flying colourfully in bright blue skies,
but grey clouds ruin its flight.

One day love will descend like sunset.
Maybe we are born to fall -
but love will always ascend again like sunrise.

The Snowflake

Young love is pure - like snow when fallen new -
and always I’ll recall one wondrous day!
Through dawn, soft powder fell; clouds lingered grey
until mid-morning. Splendid sun shone through
the gloom, and sky turned periwinkle blue!
Excited, we ran laughing, out to play
in snow, which all around us brightly lay.
But never did I guess what would ensue. . .

You chased me, until breathless, we both dropped
onto a blanket of sheer white, and then
a snowflake touched my mouth. Your fingertips
began to trace its shape, until you stopped. . .
Your gaze became intense, and that is when
you bent to kiss the snowflake from my lips.

'catching Words'

Missing words that drop from the quiet sky..
Some you just can't catch and let pass by..
Others are like tasting raindrops in the night..
Or trying to kiss a snowflake before its out of sight..
Clearer days and clearer minds let more land straight..
Now its easier to feel the thoughts from love not hate..

Season of Love

A glistening snowflake
blown by Winter's kiss
melts gently on a heart

Asleep in the arms
of a sweet melody,
as fragrant as the
soft Spring coolness
of morning's dew

A first awkward
touch that felt
of Summer's glow

A voice that echoes
from your senses,
like rain through
Autumn's cascade.

As time gives
a moment chance,
Love lends its loyalty
with such a deepening
Grace...

I Love Nature

So soft the fall in silent flight
As snowflake dance to winter's song
Like butterflies with wings of white
 A dance of beauty

As winter fades spring comes along
And blooms with colors to delight
Petals wrapped in a bright sarong

In summer sun they glow so bright
And songbirds croon all the day long
As clouds dance by fluffy and light
 A dance of beauty

In Hindsight

Afghan, around shoulders,
crocheted winter-white.
Mama’s getting older.
Love her in hindsight.

Quiet, pretty, charming —
wise with snowflake hair.
Little sisters arming
her with loving care.

Forgives couple’s absence,*
our shamed shoulders bent.
Mama’s hearthstone immense,
with violet scent.

Grumpy, petty couple
has no right to frown.
Mama’s silver supple
knees, deserve a crown.

Only You

As a yellow bird sings gaily
On a balmy summer day,
Crooning melodies so sweet
That honeybees stop and stare,

So my heart beats for you.

Like a solitary snowflake
Floating slowly to the ground,
Shining brightly, silver flare,
A majestic masterpiece,

So my heart beats for you.

As a solid oak stands regally
In earthen permanence,
Deeply rooted in the ground,
Unmoved by changing times,

So my heart beats for you.

‘Til my lungs are filled no more,
‘Til my heart beats its last,
‘Til my soul departs this body,
And from dust to dust returns,

My heart beats for you…

Only you.

Ohhhh Rain : Shower Again

A small romantic rain poem dedicated to hubby.
wrote by Mrs.Madhavi

"Ohhhh Rain..Shower again!!!!! "

Showering in the rain,
Draining the pain!
Enflueraging the essence of arenicolous sand,
Feeling blessed porting on this beautiful greenary land! Trees were roaming
under fiercing winds,
Thanks nature for benevolently so kind!
Sip of sizzling coffee With Caramalized sugar,
Cheers hubby to accompany me my gelling agar!
Wanna capture this Driplets of aromatic water nearby lake,
So that I can make an icy snowflake!
That's amazing, "but ohhhh God, I wish my honey is here".

Tangible Frost

genuine love
like a dove

chattel for cattel
cattel as chattel

frosty the snow man?
or the glow ran?

as wisps of flakes on the wind
God can you please rescind or resend

that snowflake that never duplicates
cause I sure like this one, so replicate

uniqueness got my attention now
but in itself it's lost somehow

like whispers on the wind never retold
how far do snowflakes grow old?

For eternal energy I'm fold
for a snowflake I will never scold

Tangible frost
a valued frost

She Said Yes

Seems like a long time ago..
Our first kiss under a December snow..
Each snowflake that fell, held on with care..
A ring in my hand as my heart was to bare..
The question to decide if our lives were meant to be..
The right answer would fullfill my life for you to see..
Now almost fourteen years later from that first snow in December..
The day you said yes to all my dreams , I will always remember..

December 1996 I proposed to Rosanna...

A Christmas Snow

A Christmas Snow

Twinkle Christmas snowflake bright
Icy star so pure and white
Glistening in the winter sun
This season’s antics have begun

Twinkle Christmas snowflake pure
Glistening frosting so demure
In silence falls upon this land
Causing chaos where you can

Twinkle Christmas snowflake light
Flurrying down from out of sight
Creating with your gentle touch
A Christmas scene we love so much.
                                                                     Heather Buxton 2014

Lightening the Candle From Both Ends

I have long lost you
In the wilderness of space,
My love for you
Like the flame of a candle
Was snuffed so long ago
By a light spatial breeze,
Forgotten and forsaken easily
Like a blaze of a blistering nova,
Evaporated like a snowflake
That fell in the angry sea.

I never tasted,
What you termed,
A tempestuous love,
Nor did you ever provoke
The dream of dreams.

I've grown angelic wings now,
Glide amongst the stars
Search for my own
Brand of rhapsodic happiness
I may find desire and ecstasy,
Or perish in the attempt,
I am prepared to take the risk
Can I light the candle again?

As She Sleeps

Why do you tremble like a falling snowflake
When my lips caress your waving chest?
My heart, your gentle lips can also take,
But now I will distress your calm rest;

keep your eyes closed as they are now,
some words must be written unseen,
my kisses are waving a solemn vow,
our dream will grow steady and pristine.

Oh, do you wake and do you smile?
Close, close your eyes yet again:
You must sleep truly for a little while:
The day is cold and you hear the rain:

Let’s hide underneath the bedspread,
where you find this poem to read…

Snowflake

I am like a snowflake.
There's no one just like me.
I came into your life as sparkling as can be.

I shimmer and I shine,
reflecting all your care.
A smile upon my face,
I am a child so rare.

There's no one just like me.
I am full of all things new.
There will never be another
who loves you like I do.

My gift to you this season,
unique upon the earth,
my smile...and love so special.
A treasure of great worth.

Love

Love

Love is a snowflake,
like a feather from the sky.
Fallen off an angel's' wing,
floating towards you and I.

It lays a blanket, like snow,
on the ground of our hearts.
From the highest mountain peak,
to where the frozen river starts.

Love is an icicle,
the weapon that we wield.
With the glasses' foggy mist,
they are our sword and shield.

Love is a blizzard,
the dance of our emotion.
Forever freezing our feelings,
into one single motion.

The motion of our love,
it works it's way forever.
Deeper into our souls,
shall it stop? Never!

Never let our love,
act as though it were a season.
It can never melt away,
or disappear,
for any reason.

The 8th Wonder

The warm glow of the sunset
The sweet smell of rain
A rainbow after a storm
The colours of autumn
The intricacies of a snowflake
The smell of a rose
The patterns on a butterfly
Wonders which question
if God exists
The look in her eyes
there is where I see
without question
of the wonders
where He exists

The Christmas Visit

The Christmas Visit

Dimly lit room with flowered wallpaper,
A bride chamber for a couple, 1920.
Coal dust between her fingers,
a strong back,
waiting for the annual Christmas visit.
“My husband’s coming to town, on the 4:00 train.''
Scented linens and a stern picture of Jesus Christ
New curtains to match the comforter.
Grandmother
Mother
Mother-in-law
Church woman
Daughter
Caregiver
Woman in love with one wish
Snowflake tryst while
Time stands still and is a giving friend tonight.
Invalid mother,
Rocks and prays.
Sits and sighs.

A Lover's Night

Sparkle sparkle flakes in flight.
Sparkle sparkle crests in white.
Snowflakes falling blowing bright.
Side to side in squalls pressed tight.

Cooling winds from upward gusts.
Frosted ice falls down in thrusts.
Foreheads cold in clammy rusts.
Frozen stiff 'till something busts.

Banks weighed down like heavy flour.
Snowflake pieces charged with power.
Hills and valleys waves that tower.
Simple curves much like a flower.

Dim and hazy light of moon.
Yellow mustard simply strewn.
Calm and quiet for a tune.
A lover's night to make us swoon.

Let's Get Started, Shall We?

Pretty me in colored twinkles
dancing
     in the swaying trees.
Tickle you in snowflake crystals
winking
    in the midnight freeze.
Wish me tight in gift wrapped
happies
    hidden close behind your grins.
Bring heaven in the front door
singing
and let the joy begin! ; )

Snow, Like You

I saw a snowflake drift silently past my window . . .
and I watched as it danced and turned . . .
It was so real ~
so full of life!
Finally, I could stand it no longer.
I swung wide my window and let it float in.
            It melted away . . .
I was left with a beautiful memory ~
a drop of water on my fingertip, my lips.

I couldn’t understand how it could have changed . . .
so quickly, so silently . . .
I only wanted to reach out to it ~
and care for it.
    Yet alas,
         a snowflake . . .
             as you,
               must be touched
                  gently.

The Autumn I Love

An aromatic whiff of evergreen greets my nose as I enter the Fall woods. And its scented breezes smell fresh and clean, unlike the stench of city neighborhoods. A pathway of pine needles and green moss leads me to a grove of ancient oak trees. And a chipmunk chides me like it's my boss; upset, I can come and go as I please. I wade into a sea of crumbled leaves; that crackle and crunch with each step I take. And watch bushy-tailed squirrels, nature's thieves; steal from stashes before the first snowflake. And a murder of crows cawing above, seems apropos; for the Autumn, I love.
