Shine

Shine as a source of endless light
whose rainbows of colour deter the night
where daydreams are gentle as doves in flight
and sleep the sleep of angels

Shine like a shower of soft moonbeams
Inhabit the sea of a thousand dreams
where laughter and love are timeless themes
and sleep the sleep of angels

Shine like the sun in a golden sky
On warm, sultry evenings, a fragrance, a sigh
an echo of summer as life passes by
and sleep the sleep of angels

The Promise of Spring - A Fibonacci

I
Will
Kiss you
While you sleep
Lady dressed in white
And melt your cold heart made of ice

Then
You
Will rise
Liquefied
High into the sky
And fall as raindrops from God’s eyes

To
The
Waiting
Buds below
Where now you will grow
With me - in the bloom of a rose

           ~~~
Author:  Elaine Cecelia George
* Note:  This poem is a Personification as well as a triple Fibonacci
Friendship
You said age's only a number, beauty's skin deep
Wise words to live by, now if I could only sleep
Humor never can be taken away, have no regrets
Live like there's no tomorrow, an elephant never forgets
Since the day we met, things have been so right
Thankful for our meeting, making spirits bright
No more feeling lonely, no more feeling stressed
Friendships have started, I am feeling blessed
Not a day has passed without a smile on my face
Feeling happy has now become commonplace
Brought together by chance or was it by fate
Any way you put it, my friend, you are truly great
Two Pairs of Shoes
Two pairs of shoes beside the bed.
Mine are tiny, his large instead.
His are steel toed, sandals are mine.
His dull and dark, but mine have shine.
Opposites yes, just like our shoes.
When I'm happy, he has the blues.
My secret to brighten his mood...
A large rare steak, his kind of food.
I like the soaps, he likes the news.
When I watch mine, he takes a snooze.
I can't stand to see people die...
Watching his news just makes me cry.
Even though, we might have a fight
Love keeps us together all night.
And each night when we go to sleep.
Two pairs of shoes, company keep!
ADULT LULLABY
In my arms you can forget your troubles
Close your eyes and leave them all behind
I’ll sway you tenderly to loving rhythms
I’ll comfort you to sweet musical perfumes
And protect you with all the serenity
Of a thousand starry midnights
Under feathery wispy lakeshore willows
That waver in cool late summer breezes
Close your eyes and leave all worries behind
You Reap What You Sow
If you sow seeds of kindness,
Then kindness is what you'll reap.
If you sow seeds of forgiveness,
You'll reap untroubled sleep.
If you sow seeds of anger,
of hatred or discontent,
You'll reap a crop of violence,
Discord and evil intent.
If you sow seeds of brotherly love,
Then love you will receive,
But if wickedness is what you sow,
Then wicked you will be.
The lesson here is pretty clear:
You reap just what you sow.
Therefore, strive to sow only good seeds,
And spread them wherever you go.
atop worn weathered concrete
pink petals gaily gather
entice lovers strolling
fingers touch  mittens vanish.
blushing halo canopy
tiny buds whisper passion
newly awakened  long sleep.
sky gleams dreamy hues
turquoise shyly taunting
more kisses  sweetest tune
sprinkle magic  love blooms.
Martha's Poem
I will love you like tomorrow Like the days that come to me Like the warmth of summer sunshine Like a wind that blows me free To hear the song of nightingales Beneath a crescent moon To share each simple pleasure On a rainy afternoon In the silence of a morning Deep within a restless sea Walking through the darkness And with everything in me For every precious moment That lives in effigy Love will grow within my soul To reach eternity And when we gather moonbeams After twilight steals the hours, Sleep with me through endless days Among a sea of midnight flowers.
To Write Of Love
If I was to write of love, then from my
nib your heart would flow. Dreams
would be the parchment on which I
scribe, and your fragrance the sentence
formed. A desire and passion would
flood my page, with intermittent kisses
instead of punctuation. Chapters of
grace would fill your eyes, the contents
feelings spill your soul. The ink from
deep and pulsing veins, would secrete
the validity of my emotions. I see and
do not see, for with your absence my
page is blank, yet in your thought reams
I write. Let this page be a blanket on
which those eyes could sleep, and
realize my love is not a dream, but
reality in reaching words.
Dreams Will Keep
Photo by Rhonda Pearson Smith
Thickening fog hung beneath the willow tree consumes dreams of your lost poetry. From sandalwood-scented sleep, I kiss you and weep. Love songs will keep, lustrous still. Silver lyrics creep to gold dust dawn from the deep creases of clouded sleep, where I free thickening fog hung beneath the willow tree.
I'm So Jealous
~The One That Got Away~
Here I lay weeping
I sing a sad song to sleep
Fire cracking bones
kicking, screaming, pulling hair
The moment, gone forever
The cutter
She went to sleep
closing her eyes
beginning to dream
of broken butterflies
tearing her lovely monarch wings
on faithless love that angels sings...
She finds shiny metal in kitchen sink
in an evening absent light
she finds peace in cuts of pink
watching crimson blood flow feels so right..
Starlight shines upon her tears
I whisper darling, you cannot bleed
all of your suicidal fears
at night when you begin to cry
I'll sing you a lover's lullaby..
My love do not wish that you were dead
dreaming of an absent pulse
laying on silken sheets bleeding red
I will offer love so do not bleed
give me your knife I am all you need...
Fly To Me
Fly to me my love on the wings of hopes and dreams come and be my passion a lover's symphony Be my guiding star light show me all of nature's best come and be my pillow where my weary head can rest Take my hand and walk with me on life's ever winding road keep me safe and steady hold me in our home Let's sleep beside the moon tonight camp inside the corners of my heart be my one and only my desire, my love, my start
Monsters
Monsters live in houses, like you and I.
They eat and sleep and go to work each day.
They laugh and they feel pain.  Perhaps they cry!
But they have different games they like to play
They need to have control. Therefore, most seek
a victim who is young or not so strong.
They think they are almighty, but their mind is weak.
Depraved, they pay no heed to right or wrong.
They may seem crude, but some of them are slick.
The ones with brains play too well at their game.
All monsters love what normal folks find sick.
They brutalize and rape, and feel no shame.
Beware! One could be living on your street
or be that charming guy you’ve chanced to meet!
The Dream
From the mouth of the ocean and the eye of the wave
You erupt in my being and leap from my grave;
A lover so gloomy, yet dreadfully bright
You're clothed with darkness but crowned with light.
You come in the spark, you soar with the fire
The mist is your pillow, the tornado your choir;
I will kiss you to sleep on the wild ocean crest
A sleeping volcano, an earthquake at rest.
When you feel the earth move under your feet
The sun will bathe you with her sultry heat;
Let not the stars dim the light in your eyes
Let not my passion find you unwise,
For all that you are is to be all that you can
For you are the dream, you are my man.
Peat-whisky dreams
Evening finds ascension
on a red grouse wing;
the brilliant copper sky
fades to twilight beam.
It wafts the weathered flora
of a season’s ending term,
as young skylarks soundly sleep
in the nearby bracken fern.
The purple hue glints playfully
on a steep highland muir,
with lovers lying blythesome
on the fragrant heather floor,
their drunk love on crescendo
with a piper's distant drone;
sharing peat-whisky dreams
amid the summer’s final gloam.
An Unpaid Debt
With less tomorrows than I've yesterdays
In looking back I have but one regret
Before that last tomorrow fades away
I wish that I could pay an unpaid debt
Back to a summer day so long ago
How frivolous we were with innocence
Two kids in love and way too young to know
Decisions made in haste have consequence
In tenderness I'd kiss away her tears
I'd tell her I am sorry for her pain
Give back the love I'd carried all those years
Convince her that her gift was not in vain
I'd ask for her forgiveness on my knees
Tears of contrition I would surely weep
Then thank her for life's sweetest memory
And with her blessing peacefully I'd sleep
Time Before Winter
September tries to convince herself,
Making pretend that she is really, truly,
A Summer month, albeit one of dying fire,
Holding at bay the chill of Autumn winds.
October plays temptress with her Duality;
Sun to warm the back of your flannel shirt,
With punkin' frosting nights, crisp and cold.
Air so clear it sears the throat like a glass of cider.
November comes dark, wet and gloomy.
An ancient harridan forced to bridal bed.
Chanting "fools, there's time before winter comes,
Still time enough for love."
December mutters in her sleep........
In your eyes I can find no disguise I can see in those eyes honesty You’re the one who by day is my sun From your glow I can feel your love flow Moon by night your light is my delight Like a quake is the love that we make Earth shatters and nothing else matters Sweet release In its wake I find peace Sleep, my dear When you wake I’ll be here Valentine I’m so glad you are mine Written FEb. 28, 2016 for the Valentine's Ellip Contest of Gigno
Morning Light
The calm that comes with morning light.
Lying here... from an untroubled night.
Alone, awake after restful sleep.
No tears left, no tears to weep.
Dreaming where dreams were never seen.
Free from all that might have been.
By myself with a pristine heart,
to begin again; a brand new start.
No more fear as I arise.
No sadness here to burn my eyes.
Only peace to guide my way.
No more guilt to mar the day.
My spirit rises in the sun,
as life again has just begun.
For Two Timing Husbands
How many tears must fall from brown eyes before I lay me down to sleep.
Where hurtful dreams of betrayal and lies hide in shadows they creep.
How long did you think you could go around cheating and not be found out.
With all your two dollar whores and think I'd not scream and shout!
See if they'll put up with your bullsh**, until the next one catches your eye.
As for me I'm done with your no account two timing a** once and for all...
                    GOODBYE!!!!
You Live In Me
I shall live in your legend to make
A new spirit now wholly begotten;
For in death, your memory will not forsake
Those words in my soul that are not forgotten.
Your face glows immortal in my heart to save
Even me, for I go too where all must die;
When I would sleep alone in a silent grave
With my love entombed, there you lie.
Your memory will be my triumphant verse
Which my mind has not created yet to read;
And a voice will sing of you to rehearse
Words of praise when the world must heed.
In me you live by the touch of my pen
And I breathe in you through the mouths of men.
When Violins Weep
such longing, such loving
sweet violins sing
where have you gone?
my true love, my light
violins ~ cry
my soul to sleep
forever in memories
my broken heart weeps
