Autumn Memories

Spring chased old man winter from his place
And silenced him with her capricious face
Sometimes a tear, sometimes a smile;
She would beguile
My lazy feet
To dance in some leafy bowered retreat.

When dreamy delightful summer flies
And looks at me with laughing eyes;
She draws me to her clover fields
And my heart yields
To her winsome wooing
And her siren song is my undoing.

One day I saw the sudden flare
Of autumn's wind blown crimson hair;
She stirred the whispering leaves and then
I felt again
A yearning glow
Of years remembered long ago
And I lived the dream I never knew
Of lost memories and my love for you.

Love Leaves

love,
gently rustles silver leaves
gliding through open windows
a golden summers evening
               love,
like a cardinal's rubied wing
warming the brutish bluish soul
of winter's icy cheek
                            love,
like a spray of ocean blossoms
bursting from a magicians sleeve
into caverns of lonely hearts
rooting oh so very deeply
                                    love,
like a siren sweetly offering
a sextant for the wayward bow,
just before it strikes the reef
and leaves in a flaming howl
                                          love.

Indulgence

Sweet the taste of honeyed lips
Upon my own, now drenched in bliss
Nectar tempting, beckoning with
Passion's most consuming kiss

Outpouring tenderness so softly
Though hearts are heavy, they alight
Engulf each thought of rationale
As we succumb to this delight

Outside nothing else exists
While this rare moment we prolong
Ceasing fight and argument, now
We give in to the siren song

The melody we play entrances
As would hypnotic pendulum
Heart strings strum forbidden dances
As it beats a savage drum

Leading up to its crescendo
The rhythm pounds erratically
Pulsing, raging, beats the tempo
Until we find our ecstasy

Murmuring Waters

She is the whispering of the bluest waters
Standing in the stillness she calls to me
Within the sounds of the coursing river
I feel the ease of her comfort washing over me
Consumed by her soft flowing siren song
Cascading down the mountains banks
Waltzing in the descending whitewater
Coming to rest in a cooled pool of her caress
Illumed depths tepid in the evening sun
Enhanced of her life and ardor
Swimming free
Drinking her intoxicating breath exhaling out
My love is the river of azure water
Ever carrying me onward she moves
Whispering…

Reflection

Oh, innocence of trust unchecked
How stare you back at me?
T’was you who fled this heart laid bare
Oh, barren calamity

Empty now the heart ill used
So used to gentle dreams
No more to see the flower’s bloom
No song but silence’s scream

Tell me true, reflection mine
Convince these naked eyes
What errant way or walk or word
Did scorn this heart and thine?

Does not love, our love, true love
Still soar above the weather?
Or like Iccarus, did we dare too high
Then, fall to earth unfeathered?

I cast my lot on winds of change
Though the end be hard to find
His siren muse did have her chance
Now...I shall have mine.

A Woman Is Never Just a Woman

A Woman is Never Just a Woman
A woman is never just a woman, she’s Aphrodite’s daughter. She can beguile and captivate you; she’s an angel; she's a siren. A goddess, she can love you eternally, she can drive you crazy in ecstasy. So don’t ever take her love for granted for you’ll surely discover a woman is never just a woman.

How Could I Tell

I walk no more on soft green mosses,
Under the trees where green branch tosses;
Where scent of leaf and red rose flinging,
Perfume the wind with soft scent clinging.

I walk no more by the ocean dreaming,
Where sunbeams fly with grey gulls screaming;
Over the cliffs where wild waves falling,
Sweep up the sound in echoes calling.

I hear no more the sea shell's story,
Along the shore with sunset's glory;
Only the song from the dark cave's hollow,
That siren song I dare not follow.

Words you spoke leave me broken hearted,
For now I find you have departed;
For I loved you well but you left me lonely,
How could I tell if you loved me only?

Siren

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Siren,
your fluid
hymn lures
me past tense
gray gulls
who eye me,
anxious
for my safe
return
They circle,
keening...
and the tide
moves to
free me of
               my moorings
New Eyes
Before the rain came,
I did not understand the words.
They were simply beauty to me
     in a foreign language
     in a tempo perfect
that fit my mood.
     Rich and pretty ... and
         a bit oblique.
     But the seed fell deeply
when I looked away.
Sweet siren music I heard in ocean
        covered streams ... and
        salt water flowers.
I knew angels in waking sleep
        and watched my mind
        tell me lies.
I turned up the silence and grew still.
     Clarity sparkled in smog and mud puddles
and then I understood.  the words.
        and the rain.
            stinging cold ... and
                 purifying.
Wounded
The lines in between fade away
And I’m left standing in gray.
I cannot, dare not, go back;
Yet, I cannot find my way forward.
If I give up this fight
I will surely lose you from sight.
I cannot, dare not, say good bye;
You are the one I live for.
But my blood continues to drain
Leaving my fingers red-stained.
I cannot, dare not, let go;
But my fingers are cold, numb.
Your face is what I long to see,
What I want my last memory to be.
I cannot, dare not, look away;
Even as a siren splits the night.
I see the hope in your eyes
As my heart slowly dies.
I cannot, dare not…
Small Town Cop
Alternating red and blue, police car siren blaring.
My heart is thumping wildly. I wave and blow him a kiss,
But he doesn't notice. He is on the job, not caring.
And since I'm driving slowly, a chance meeting I'm going to miss.
Had he wings, he would be the Heavenly Angel Michael.
But he is an honest cop who watches for speeders on the road.
His manner is courteous; his aura is physical,
Yet, his peaceful brow is smooth, tending not to furrow hold.
Today, I see him at the curb writing a citation.
I wave, I wink, and blow a kiss as I drive on by.
Though my heart is bursting with daily infatuation,
It is those California girls who always catch his eye.
To a Silver Sea At Sunset
Somewhere beyond your misty horizon
where clouds bow low to receive the sun's benediction
of brilliant amethyst and gold-rimmed glory,
and where wind shapes the sharps and flats
of an endless siren song~
does the one I love still sail home to me?
Somewhere beyond time counted and gone,
as your waves come and go and come again
to the place on shore where parting once was sweet,
where now I wait as one half-alive and existing in the shadow
of a solitary memory~
will the minutes never bring him home to me?
Love’s Hearty Plea
Love’s in the blue, the sky, the bird, the ray. Xanthous flicker of light - the brilliant sun. And white, the vellum space - she spills her day. Emerald gown, her dress; hair golden spun. Across the tiresome sea, the divide’s great. Reflective waves imagine softest curls. Easygoing, flashy morning, this date. The reds turn black and storm’s a beast of whorls. Yet, he hangs on a crest of splintered wood. Seaman’s invested in a hearty plea. “Call me back home. You’ll find me all good.” He sings “Siren of mine, I will find thee.” It’s in his dreams, though waves do kick and bruise. She dreams it too, that it’s his fate to lose.
Before You
I never noticed diamonds in the sky before;
so mindless, let such moments pass me by before.
I never glanced a passing smile upon a face
of utter loveliness; it made me cry before.
I never hearkened such sweet, honeyed voice, so fell
upon the siren spell of Lorelei before
I never felt the brush of lips against my own
that were as soft as wings of butterfly before.
I never gave away the key that would unlock
my to heart be a caravanserai before.
I never suffered dawns sharp, stabbing agony
of partings, sorrow pain that I could die before.
I never knew it possible to soar so high;
and why? For there was not a you and I before.
Blue Hole
in the hollow
after midnight
i’m sinking
down the blue hole
that’s my mind
the memory of you
leads me by the hand
i’m falling
and your arms
are what i find
the moon each night
that lone enchantress
teases with her lures
she beckons ~
like a siren out at sea
and again i long
to fall down
that deep blue hole
that leads me
back to you
Happy Mother's Day
Compassionate lovely siren
You didn't keep your silence
Words you utter -  timeless
To you my greatest reliance
Your love as huge as a giant
As your heart immensely pliant
Needless more to secure a license
Evermore you're my loyal alliance
More than a systematic science
Greater than a credible titan
Guarding me not to be frightened
Always my ways you enlightened
More than these
More than a diamond,
That's how you are 'MA
My dearest Mama
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY.. :)
The Siren Sergeant -
One day while marching
on the road to madness
I fell in love with a woman
known as sadness,
she rode up on the shore
glazed in sapphire honey,
knowing no mercy
slapping the land,
forgiveness in her thought,
studed destruction in her hand,
our wit and sheilds calashing,
the battle a draw - together -
we as one collapsing to the sand,
we engaged in hot behavior
but the game was always in her favor -
My Lover
My lover
speaks fire
laughs smoke
she is madness
spilled from
my imagination
My lover
with raven hair
of wooded fire
midsummer night
kisses of
heated lightning
My lover
with zebra thighs
breasts of clouds
hourglass waist
lips of champagne
ace of hearts
My lover
mother of pearl
eyes of blue siren
sings for me
no one ever hears
yesterday and tomorrow
My lover
Monday through Friday
swims in the ocean
that I prepare for her
comes and goes
to the sky...
Mum
Mum A siren of Oogahs! fills her ears, But the cream of smile and care splotch her face, Tells you the loving tutelage she has for years, Cuddling and snuggling is me the little thing, As she wraps me and embraces me, In endless full love string, Onomatopoeic sirens of my helpless cry, To you might be a clear bother, To her is a call-in notification, To attend to me like an open door, Mama is the greatest being ever lived to cherish, Never shall I let her joy to perish, Thank you, mum.
Extraterrestrial Lover
You may not believe this
but my last lover
was an extraterrestrial
which caused me great distress
the way she transformed me
her out of this world dress.
She brings winter with her overnight
pseudo-snow fell rocket high
a siren unlike all the other girls
a pleasing form to my human eyes
making love underneath force field
captivating planetarium starlit skies.
Kisses of rapture times warp speed
circling around the rings of Saturn
I will follow her to the end of the galaxy
my lips locked to hers, I love her
beam me up my darling and kiss me
my lovely and beautiful femalien...
Passion's Song
I play my song on lute and flesh;
Fingers nimbly strumming along.
My voice sings out with bated breath-
Cries and whispers, the siren song.
My lover joins me in the duet,
Our tempo is sweet and slow.
Together we play passion's song
A tune learned long ago.
A melody of exquisite magic--
It rarely sounds the same.
Pray you to can join in singing the song
Known as Love by name.
Dearest Dreamer
Dear dreamer, yesterday broke your heart
Open it again and hear now softly whispering
This is the day for a new start
Yesterday’s a siren my dear, and her love is blistering
Her faint music lingers, but ah you must resist
See the sunshine Dreamer, this I must insist
Let the gentle wind of change break the chain
Wake Dreamer, it’s the new day - hope without pain.
Dearest Dreamer, will you, will you?
Sirens Song
Sirens Song
What pain did wisdom twist
What wrung was wrought
What sorrows spun
Out of earthly control
Forgotten long ago
Was I to myself
& in the clearing
where no love stood
lost
I stand...
Ready
To make first call
To risk an edge
To howl
To dance
This crazy dance
This Winken & Nod
This pheromone fight
This object we over go
Toward the staggering gasm
The guttural glow
Yet,
Some switch somewhere
Had to be flipped
Some element of inner magic
Ignited
Some list recounted
And tallied so that
Years of nothings
Could become
the wings of somethingz
Yes,
In Love I am
with the whirl of the wind
& on the air of this beautiful song
I will go
It's siren is too strong
