It Was a Good Morning Until

It was a good morning until I got your letter You admitted you didn't love me any more My desire for revenge I would unfetter When I returned the key to your door You weren't at home as I’d arrived early So I put itching powder in your underpants I’d love to see that when you’re with Shirley Perhaps it would put paid to your new romance Before I collected my belongings I left you a gift I’d sewn a dead mouse into the hem of your curtain The smell of its rotting body would be hard to shift Bedroom action would be curtailed that’s for certain! Shirley

Steal clothed in velvet, her love was strong and sure;
Her touch, soft and warm, held its own allure.
Inspiring all through kind actions to help out anyone;
Recalling the words of her Lord and the examples of His son;
Leading us down the path of Love and service to others
Every movement that she made, was a vision of “Mother.”
Years of emulation, knowing I'll never be everything that Mother was to our family.

It was on a Sunday you chose to leave
And I was very sad to see you go
You had other family you needed to see
But I shall really miss you so

There was Mom and Dad and Brother Darryl
And of course sisters Donna, Shirley and Kay
Cousins Larry, Henry, Danny, and Kurt
That you will also see along the way

All the people you have left behind
Understand why you had to leave
We will always love you
This you really must believe

I know you are in a wonderful place
And my missing you shall never cease
There are others that share this feeling too
So dear brother please, please,
            Rest in peace

With Angels and Rainbows

.Rainbows reflecting the love left behind so thoughtful caring and above all so kind when the colours stretch across the sky thoughts cant evaluate the reason why. You were snatched away, from us all so soon there be days that are rippled,to a a raging monsoon. Because we all have lost, loved ones we desire to have them back for one time, feelings of fire. Shirl your everyday nature you did elude to the very last exhaled breath, did conlude. And the angels asked you, to say farewell and came away from us all,but yet free of pain.

Plump Girl Marie

Met this plump girl, who I called sweet Marie
We made love like the birds and bees meant to be
She let out a shriek
And hit me before I could peak
I the made a mistake of calling her my sexy Shirley

Breaking Away

BREAKING AWAY
I say I saw our future together. It was charred. His speech was electronically charged. Did he hear my plea? My memory is cascading. The new wounds kept forming where the old ones flaked. That was the problem with him, you understand. Nothing much was wrong with him. Nothing much except his vision of the world; monochrome. And his monologues. The white was white. The black was black.

So I walked away! To the adjacent . Still the folks called me Shirley Valentine.

I am happy with my new man. The future is bright; not charred. Said the grandmother.

Shirleys Place

Shirley Hawkins is a beautiful human
Interesting, wise and clever
Humble and unassuming
In her poetic endeavours

She cares deeply about world affairs
Injustice and its wrongs
Secure in speaking her mind
Assured and strong

What I love most about Shirley
Is her humour and sharp wit
A humorous attitude to ageing and life
Which shines bright with joy that transmits

So, l am popping around to Shirleys place
Picking up Gershon on the way
To have cuppa and chat
And laugh the day away

You are very welcome to join us
But only If you enjoy laughter and fun
Negative Nellies and Nasty Normans
“NOT” Welcome!

Limerick: Twenty-Three Skidoo

Flapper Shirley Shively sighed and thought, how could she?
She'd love to do that hootchie-kootchie dance, but would she?
Though the boys she loved to tease,
She was, sadly, quite obese.
Surely Shirley Shively shouldn't shimmy, should she?

Being Thankful

I am thankful for all things,
That God has given me,
For all the beautiful sights he sends
before my eyes to see.
I am thankful for his love,
And the hope of his glory.
Glory of the things up above,
As told in that grand old story.
I am thankful for His promise of eternal life,
There in that land of peace and rest,
Where there will be no more strife.

V-Day

A Valentine Poem, from me to you
I have no gift,so I hope this will do
My love is special and very true
With my words,I'll express it to you
All I can offer, is my heart
Your the love of my life, and a 10 on my chart
You make me happy, all day long
Your love helps me believe and keeps me strong
As my Valentine, you are my dove
Now kiss me, and lets make love

O Treasure Each Day While It Is Still Young

"O' Treasure each and every day while it is
Still young, and always remember to love
Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son."

"This is the day that the Lord has made
We shall rejoice and be glad in it."

"Give us this day our daily bread and
Forgive us our trespassers as we have
Forgiven those who have trespassed
Against us and lead us not into
Temptation but deliver us from all evil
For thine is the kingdom and the power
And the glory for-ever, Amen!

"Tomorrow is a brand new day with no
Mistakes in it yet." Anne Shirley of
Anne of Green Gables.

My Life Boat

Whirlpools of loneliness were pulling me down, you were my lifeboat. With all my effort I forced myself to push toward you. Your kisses, your smiles, your touch saved me from my lonely life.

The King of Pop

Micheal Jackson, was a great icon
I still can't believe, he is gone
What a show, he would give
A fulfilling life, he did live
With family and friends, always by his side
A true legend, has regreatably died
His love and legacy, shall carry on
In the future, we'll hear his song
And always know, that he is here
Bringing happiness, and making people cheer
So for now, we must say Good-bye
And though your heart is aching,Please don't cry
Smile

The Strictly Judges

Craig

If you can just remember darling
That if I find your dance alarming,
I'll appear to be mean.
I'll be booed on the scene!
Craig Revel Horwood can be charming.

Motsi

I'm Motsi Mabuse. I love this show!
Watching the dances gives me a warm glow.
As yet, no front runner.
Each dance is a stunner!
Anybody can win! Who? I don't know!

Shirley

My role in Strictly is just my scene!
I'm known as " The Latin Queen "
I want to see some sass
With a bit of class.
And I love a romantic theme.

Anton

I'm the new judge, Anton Du Beke.
For you to keep your skills in check,
Just follow the swing
Of the " Ballroom King "
And you'll receive high praise on spec!

Love

Love is a weapon,love is a toy
Love is special, between a girl and a boy
We know it hurts, it gives us fears
Love brings out happiness, and even tears
There is no meaning for this word
It is as sweet as the song of a bird
It brings people together, and tears them apart
LOve is a feeling that comes straight from the heart!

Merry Christmas Uncle DeVoe And Aunt Shirley

In a humble home, where love takes its stand,
Uncle Devoe and Aunt Shirley, a diligent band.
Hardworking spirits, like a flame that won't tire,
Kindness and warmth, they generously inspire.

Aiding thousands with grace, their hearts pure and true,
Selfless endeavors, like morning's dew.
Though time keeps us distant, and miles intervene,
Missed moments weigh heavy, like a forgotten dream.

In the quiet of Christmas, nostalgia takes flight,
Memories dance, wrapped in starlight.
To Uncle Devoe and Aunt Shirley, a heartfelt refrain,
From afar, with love, James McLain.

Ringlets

“Curly girl: It's more than just hair, it's an attitude.”- Lorraine Massey. With pretty ringlets in her hair, a princess she appears to be. Cute bows she wears give her such flair with pretty ringlets in her hair. With cheeks so pink and skin so fair, this darling child I love to see. With pretty ringlets in her hair, a princess she appears to be. Like Shirley Temple dancing, she enjoys flouncing her princess curls. How precious is my girl to me. Like Shirley Temple dancing, she performs for us, giggling with glee How gracefully my daughter twirls! Like Shirley Temple dancing, she enjoys flouncing her princess curls.

For My Dad

Last year on this day
the crewl world took my daddy away
I can't believe it's been a year
since I've been able to see your face here
People say: Death makes you stronger
but for your girl it will take longer
All I can do is remember your love
and believe your watching from above
A Guardian Angel we all know
watching us as we grow
Sadly missed and fondly remembered
Our memories of you will always be treasured

Philosopher's Philosophies 2

"All you need is love"
Can love be my life when I'm dying for love?
Can it fed us when we are starving for food?
Can love quench one's thirsty throat?

"Diamonds are forever"
There's no space for that never-ending forever...
Eternal infinity?
Perpetual immortality?

"You are gold"
Can you be my unlimited wealth of hundred-fold?
Spending your very last
Making me rich and famous...do not last...

"I'm out of my league once again"
Consciously hallucinating
Laughing with my idiosyncrasies
Asking desperate queries...

My Boy

A baby is a special gift
 something great
 to give you a lift

A little one
 for you to raise
To comfort and cherish
 threw the days

Although the years
 may go slow
You can watch
 your baby grow

Teach them what
 they are allowed
What you see
 will make you proud

Love and cherish them
 from dusk till dawn
Because before you know it
 they'll be gone

Daily Long Passionate Goodbye

Other wives watched Shirley kiss her husband good-bye.
Every Monday through Friday at the train station.
As if it was going to be the last good-bye.
They could not understand it, not knowing the full story.

One day Shirley and her man stopped coming to the train.
Was he no longer going to work? Was he on vacation?
He had passed from colon cancer, they discovered later.
Better understanding now those long passionate goodbyes.

Jesus my God

                  God
How I love when to pick me up when I fall
So much love for us all
I can’t explain the love I have
Of the loving God we have
Your love is so overwhelming
Like a waterfall overflowing
Nothing more I can wish for
No nothing at all
I sing with praise
Throughout these last days
When everyone runs away
You are shirley here to stay
No matter if I chose the wrong way
You bring me back to the right way
