lonely, lost love,
I sit alone as evening claims the day,
with common crow my only confidant.
I watch the sun sink slowly in the bay
while musing life and love so nonchalant.
As night descends upon my humble soul,
my furtive feelings ponder kinship lost.
I’m missing precious love that makes me whole;
my dearest darling gone at such a cost.
And woe I say, why did she go away,
and leave my heavy heart in agony;
behind, my shallow spirit here to stay;
she cast our love away so damnably.
Alas, I rue thee, my ascetic life,
and long to lance my heart with wretched knife.

Lotus
Lotus petals soft with shadows
Drinking from your shallow pond,
Blossoms that compete with heaven,
With the twilight hour you bond.
Aquatic in your very nature,
Deemed fit to float at Buddha's feet,
Your peaceful beauty calls awareness
Where such enlightened beings meet.
Sacred plant known through the ages
Your spirit dwells within my heart
And centered there, your spark of light
Assures me that we'll never part.

loss, lost love, love hurts,
Humble heart naked like a winter tree,
yearns for seasons to remain evergreen.
Furtive eyes have disturbed this reverie,
soul stands still like nonchalant figurine.
Walking away to leave one heartbroken,
her shallow soul left no apology.
Regret kills the tongue from words unspoken,
lost are lyrics from our anthology.
Wounds so deep, nerves drown in crimson fluid,
tears bleed sorrows lost to words poetic.
Ink seeks metaphors to show whats ruined,
so the heart feels peace like an ascetic.
In the midst of pain, veiled scars do not fade,
constant reminder of all mistakes made.

love, memory,
Humble this moment under skies of grey
Reading poems of furtive words wrote with you,
Contemplating where you are now this day
With an ascetic mind of times we knew.
The love we shared on a day once like this
A time so long ago the spring of youth,
My heart heaved in heavenly days of bliss
Speaking words of unmitigated truth.
Yet you went away far over the sea
With nonchalant parents on life’s voyage,
Waving with a kiss as you left the quay
Shallow sunset that swallowed the cordage.
I was only eight and you barely nine
Wondering if ever your thoughts as mine.

You’re a damn cute fellow
Our hands intertwined on the cello
With you, I want to sing the Sh-ha-shallow
Bougainvillea are purple and pink
Let me take you out for a drink
Together our glasses will clink
Oh, you make my heart sink!

love,
A soul mate is not perfection of shallow attractions
But a love that many read about so unique and rare
Realness that is deep and sincere - a lasting bond
One not sugar coated or glowing with bright light
What a priviledge to know - it would be so profound
To share harmony, such balance - ying and yang
Fitting like a glove with fingers out stretched
Neither held back together encouraged to grow
It's like pen and paper and mind connecting words
Creating a union of mind, body and soul

Desperate.. how can you be with someone and not love them. Desperate.. your heart is empty. Are you lonely? Desperate.. is it true? A shallow word? An empty meaning? Desperate..Desperate..Desperate, is it a rumor, the spread of words that ruin lifes. Am i invisable? I'm here. Standing in front of you. Maybe my glasses are blocking your view. I can change.. I'm not desperate. I'm in love, but then again what is love? An empty word. An empty meaning.. A rumor?

lost love
Shallow ground forgot to wept
all the words that thrown were kept
and if I were you today
I think that you had more to say
and if you were for me that night
then why all the burden to begin that fight
I shall not keep these simple rules
If you and I are just two fools...

life,
I am the light that longs for the dark
I am the shallow that yearns for the deep
Earth and sky, snow and sand, desert and ocean
The opposite that combine to make a whole
Gentle and fierce, strong and weak, love and hate
War and peace, youth and age, foolish and wise
Envy and content, sad and happy, birth and death
Twirling together creating the dance of life
Men and women a creation of yin and yang
Opposites belonging completing the whole
A never ending circle in time and space

angst, anxiety, emotions, feelings, heartbreak, loneliness, love hurts,
Unrequited love is shallow,
lacking depth; it cannot float dreams.
Yet, you will forego happiness
for a lifetime of silent screams.
Both tormentor and destroyer,
doubt devastates your sense of pride.
A heart that craves a love denied
will wilt and slowly die inside.
Wishes attack reality;
striking with irrational force.
Unattainable dreams fuel
frustration, anger, and remorse.
Truth defines the expectations
and anticipations of youth.
And yet, you have fallen in love,
acknowledging no other truth.
Feeling lost, nothing seems real,
drowning in tears, you cling to hope.
Yet rejected hearts tend to break;
finding it difficult to cope.

faith, hope, inspirational, jesus,
I'm drifting Lord, I'm all at sea,
You came along and uplifted me,
No rudder Lord, i'm feeling shallow,
Lord, be my guide and I will follow.
I'm drifting Lord, I'm all at sea,
Lord I pray,come, rescue me,
Alone was I to sit and cry,
You gave comfort by and by.
The world's so big, so cold and cruel,
Your love to me is lifegiving fuel.
When I am feeling close to You,
My world is safe and warm and true.
Friend, if you are feeling low today,
just get on your knees and pray.
You'll be amazed that when you do,
You'll find the Jesus Way is true.

love,
Before I knew your name, you spoke to me.
Before I learned the contours of your face,
or came to know your talents, or the place
you call your home, you'd touched me lastingly.
Before I understood your shifting moods,
or pressed against your skin, or heard you weep,
you were already in me, buried deep.
This never was some shallow interlude.
I loved you though I'd never heard your voice
or stroked your hair. It was just meant to be.
In some unknowable realm we made our choice,
without recourse to hand, or heart, or eye,
for these are carnal things, which fade and die.
And I have loved you for eternity.

introspectionmen,
On the surface she was beautiful
But she was ugly deep inside
Yet always she was surrounded
With many men by her side
On the outside she was ugly
Her beauty was deep within
She was always left by herself
Shunned by all the men
Showered with gifts and compliments
Never wanting for a date
Even though inside her heart was dark
Intoxicated with hate
Full of love and sympathy
Always lending a helping hand
Never receiving a single call
Avoided by every man
We can be so shallow
Deceived by our very own eyes
If we could only learn to see with our hearts
We men would be surprised

addiction, drug,
How deep this shallow vision lies
that holds a truth my grasp can't reach
will never last, too quickly dies
in veiled perception too vague to seek.
In colors daylight will never know
this euphoric dream can't come to fast
away reality, too harsh to show
those lost reflections of the past.
From darkened weakness a light is lost
of choices made, conceived in fear
but one is left to pay the cost
of songs of love I did not hear.
Will hope replace despair?
Is anyone left to care?

PEEPING DREAMS
White mushroom clouds dress ivory shades,
Shadow the moonlight,
peeping in purple,
lighting the darkness in our space,
I watched upon your hour of slumber,
A smile reflected enchanted face,
How much I wish a window to peep,
To share the dream within your sleep,
Herein I see the depth you hide,
Yet shallow the feelings you cannot hide
Then softly to kiss your lips to seal,
The moments slept you shall reveal,

water,
Water’s pure when it is flowing
down the mountain ever growing.
Streams may long rivers turn to be
God's water blesses you and me.
Shallow or deep, the rivers run.
Folks find great ways to have such fun.
They swim, fish, boat, or water-ski!
God's water blesses you and me.
Rivers run their course; by a shore,
we may find water is even more.
Who doesn’t love a big blue sea?
God's water blesses you and me.
Bottled, from a faucet or spring,
comes H2O. It’s everything!
We should care for it, but DO we?
God's water blesses you and me.

Turn and turn again atop a shallow bed of rocks; still
Lingering amid the mist these thoughts left dangling
As an autumns flower upon a virgins branch within winters
Silence waiting; to be awaken afore the frost takes its bite....
Icicles like thorns to pierce the hearts; cold as this may seem
When hopes die and dreams bleed; petals, falling from the sky!?

dark, dark, love, me,
If your breathing - better learn to hold your breath,
the waters deep and we're going for a swim,
the deep dark cold, it always creeps on back in,
to watch me, to smother me, why does it love me,
its love is suffocating, doesnt it see its a death trap,
the cave is dark and shallow and ready to fall in,
the deep dark cold, ready to trap me in its depth,
If your breathing - better learn to hold your breath
If it enters me, and you cut me, stab me in the heart,
ill bleed black, and my blood will just pour out,
the oceans deep, and we're going for a swim,
the world cant see that we're going in,
if your breathing baby - better learn to hold your breath...

Sailing the waves,
Bottom walk of depth,

With every breath,
Emotions taking flight-submerged,
Into her spirit mist.
Knowing,
Numerous await,
On dried land,
Casting reading nets,
Wondering,
What love will be about in her grace.
Soul smile imprint,
Left on their heart face,
Another fine catch for this reading season-

love, lust, passion,
For love cannot abide a troubled soul
Nor hold the trembling hand of aging fear
Lest it succumb as doubt makes it less whole
And yet deny its presence drawing near
For love is not a shallow water dream
It rages ‘neath the calm of surface lie
Its depth the chilling darkness of a scream
That knows its aching fever will not die
Thus, do the lovers dance ‘round fires flame
The heat of endless passion counting coup
Denying that two hearts could be the same
While both the dancing lovers know it’s true
For love is but a word misunderstood
By those who would define it if they could

know herself a thing
of perennial beauty –
of vibrant color,
entrancing scent –
the long-time
study of bouquets,
of sentimental verses,
of flawless princesses
and jealous witch's
curses – a rose who
never grew to cherish
the blossoming of gifted
being –
never looked more deeply
beyond the shallow face
of a painful moment's dark
crystal, into the sacred heart
of a bejeweled core –
all life are forms of
buds and blossoms –
man's duty
learning the husbandry
of seeing

each petal spent
a fertile encore
death a heartfelt finale
for tears and then applause

hope, lost love,
A full moon you blush in the condensed sky
Riding the lone cloud I tried to reach you
Furtive desire couldn’t grow wings to fly
Silver lines formed from your nonchalant hue.
You crossed the humble sky that I call mine
A turquoise trail you made in me you knew
I could discern my love glow in your shine
How to preserve the gleam I had no clue.
The departing night called the black clouds in
Gloom of shade spread on ascetic desert
The moon through the dust storm it hadn’t seen
Ripples formed on parched dunes of broken heart.
Clouds melted, your shallow lake filled my tears
I tried to find my drowned love lost for years.

Trying to swim; I sink to the bottom
Meet me here in aphotic darkness
Our devilish souls can create a tsunami on the surface
And obliterate all other love
Light hearts, ripples
As we drink their shallow cries
Unite with me as I swim your depths
Wave after wave of divine pleasure
Designed to realign my spine
Chew my insides as a piranha
Our love is worth the death of earth
I'll chance obliteration,
In my blinded sight just to
drown in the depths as you destruct my soul

Arr, Matey! Me ship has run aground,
In this shallow world, I search for character, but none to be found.
Through me spyglass, a foggy, distant world, unclear,
This incessant devil bird squawking in me ear.
A chest full of silver, gold, and jewels galore,
But what I treasure most is a love forevermore.
