Alone I Walk

I walk and walk
and in my mind
I walk toward
something someone you

I walk and walk
in a motion I wish was soothing
somehow it’s nowhere that I walk
never getting closer

I wonder how it is I’m walking
riding life’s evermoving sidewalk
going against the tide against the grain
never getting closer

static not getting anywhere
and not getting further
I’m left alone with my illusion
of somehow getting closer

Once Is Enough

Oh for pity's sake put some clothes on,
the bracing air will steal your breath..
and I need you to stand and stay strong.

Cold comfort thrills from your chill touch
help me recall why I adore you so...

A chin of the ages rests on my shoulder in sweet affection,
two arms encircle my world in every direction.

Redtail hawk riding a thermal looks down..
what caught its gaze I wonder..

Will the day lend a hand through a pestering cloud,
or roll its eyes in thunder?

Such a fine firebrand you've stoked,
as I shave my face and call your bluff.,

Wishing the once would last forever..
though once was more than enough.

A Gentle Kiss

A gentle kiss, that I really must send To another true, and very dear friend Pucker up babe, it's coming your way And riding a storm, so it should be there today I licked my lips before I blew, so I know it's going to stick But with all the lightning, it might have a little kick So when it hits your lips, it might give off a little spark Now what started off as a gentle kiss, might be leaving you in the dark

I Lay My Head

I lay my head  upon the softness of its mane
My white charger, no knight for a swain
as I am the gallant rider looking for love.
Riding the green valleys with mountains above,
looking for hope in natures  fertile plain

A dream, a carousel  of  tears  and  pain
With bobbing horses making  a colourful train
Flying above a sure sign of hope, a dove
I lay my head

Imagination in play as I search in vain
Why from happiness  must I abstain
My empty heart crying out to those above
Praying each night, please bring me love
Grabbing a handful of the silky white mane
I lay my head

Paint Us As We Are

Thinking of you I’m painting of love
Ascribing endearing brushstrokes
Ambivalent of my reach to inform
As I adumbrate upon soul’s canvas

Come build this portrait with me
Emblazon those empty spaces
Color them boldly as you please
Embolden contours of your wishes

And when your heartbeats speak
Indulge them in enamored feelings
Savoring love’s treasured meaning
As flame of passion ignites within

Clasp this wave beckoning now
Lift us, dear, to crest from trough
Glide merrily riding tides of awe
But paint us, my love~ as we are

There's a Sport For Everyone

"There's a Sport for Everyone" is a children's song, sung to the tune of "The Farmer
in the Dell".

There's a sport for everyone,
There's a sport for everyone-
Baseball, soccer, basketball;
Sports are so much fun!

Bonus activity: Ask each child which sports they participate in or would like to try.
Explain that there is a sport for everyone, no matter your physical capabilities. Some
sports like English horseback riding may require more mental skills than physical. Tell
children, "If you try a variety of sports, you're sure to find one you love!"

Through the Mist

Through the Mist
It feels like a lifetime has passed since my beloved I last saw, Bedecked in shining armor, my brave Geoffrey did gallantly gallop, Riding his silver steed, through a soft silky blue morning mist That like a tender lover enveloped and amorously embraced him.
Now overtaken by dark despair, silently willing my love to reappear, Despondently I peer through this most mystifying mist, realizing that On this fateful day twenty years before, he had unwittingly succumbed To its seductive allure because man and mist had merged becoming one.

The Tale of Prince Aaron

Once upon a time a long long time ago
Prince Aaron was riding his unicorn
When he met his precious princess
In the enchanted forests of the Ottawa Valley
And saved her from flying fiery dragons
He was so strong valiant and brave
Thus started a romance that would last a lifetime
One day they would throw the wedding of the century
But for now the prince needed to go to sleep
And give in to the dream land of elves and faeries
As mommy continued to read his bedtime story

Young At Heart

I entered a village in Algonquin park
as dusk approached the tattered edges of dark.
And fell in love with the bucolic setting
all except for the mosquito’s blood letting.

The pine smell was redolent riding each breeze
carrying halcyon memories of trees.
And for a fugacious moment I felt lost
amidst the penumbra where I weighed the cost.

I could find a safe inglenook or camp out
a vestigial whiff of pie gave me doubt.
And taking that as a harbinger of treats
to come I headed to a lodge with grass streets.

My ephemeral connection with the Earth
somehow gave my sempiternal soul rebirth.
For I felt rejuvenated young at heart
and with each footstep felt my tensions depart.

Yes

Yes
I will go on this ride
  cling to my safety harness
  overcome my phobia of heights
ignore those screams from the colossus-
are they screams of terror, or screams of joy?
Yes
  I will embrace the uncertainty
brace myself for every twisting turn
  each stomach-dropping, breath-stopping
  heartbeat of sheer acceleration exhilaration
as the tension mounts, she reaches for my hand
do I speak of riding a roller coaster or falling in love?
Yes

Heavenly Romance

Luminesence
besprinkles fantasies
on liquid love
surrounding us.
Riding the ebb and flow,
we rock
we lull,
we ripple
in the reverberations
of our aphrodisia.
Salty breezes
teases our excitement
as we salute Venus
with sexual gifts.
Moonlight waltzes scintillant riffles
across the glass-sea surface
to the bateau we sail;
as we dance,
rumba romance
in rhythmic swells,
on our Little Piece of Heaven.

Speak To Me

Speak to me my desire where your hillsides come alive wrap your legs around the beauty riding long where blueberry thrive   drift down within starlight's fire flushed against an alabaster sky   rage, rage   bed these trepidations rupturing through valiant vapors   once thought dormant   now alive   speak to me my desire where words come to unwind in the secluded and mysterious recesses of my mind

You Will Always Be My Girl

Me and you without a clue
Of half the things that we'll go through
From early morn till late at night
Side-by-side through this life
Riding high this Tilt-A-Whirl
You will always be my girl

Up and down in and out
Both of us squarely spinning round
Clearly not a piece of cake
Making do with the desserts we make
A many-faceted diamond, rounded pearl
I'm so blessed that you're my girl

Grooming all we know with a fine-tooth comb
Then placing a bow on our happy home
It's our belief that sets us free
And I believe in you and me
Whatever goes down in this crazy world
You will always be my girl

My Knight

To bathe at last in your sweet love,
And melt to your embrace,
To linger long with our first kiss,
Then drown in silk and lace.

We've sensed the pull of nature's wave,
we'll rule the surging tide,
Anticipating this first touch,
Awakening inside.

Fingers,mouths and bodies swim,
In sensual delight,
And riding high 'gainst passion's prow,
We consummate 'our night'.

Adrift in dreamy arms we lie,
True captains of the storm,
Our nakedness no longer shy,
With love to keep us warm.

If other nights like this do come,
Our way as good things can,
It's this night i'll remember most,
My Darling,Darling man!

Resuscitated Memories

Fall cold rainy days
Crisp wet leaves
Twirling and waltzing
Flying and floating

Riding October desolate gusts
Retro tunes that resuscitate
Memories of young love
Echoes of how I love you

Deep in the heart
Awakened by the sound of
Walking through wet fallen leaves
Ever so close as one

Holding on tight
Isolated in a cold sullen world
Warm enraptured hearts
Under a shared umbrella

Alone together
Along a silent canal
Riddled by a multitude of raindrops
Anxious to seek shelter

Ever so content
Creating memories

Dunes of Broken Heart

A full moon you blush in the condensed sky Riding the lone cloud I tried to reach you Furtive desire couldn’t grow wings to fly Silver lines formed from your nonchalant hue. You crossed the humble sky that I call mine A turquoise trail you made in me you knew I could discern my love glow in your shine How to preserve the gleam I had no clue. The departing night called the black clouds in Gloom of shade spread on ascetic desert The moon through the dust storm it hadn’t seen Ripples formed on parched dunes of broken heart. Clouds melted, your shallow lake filled my tears I tried to find my drowned love lost for years.

Riding With the Winds

my soul rides upon the winds of memories
will touch your awareness before you sleep
carried on into your dream of togetherness
once awake it’s there for you to keep

I will speak with you before you sleep
touch your arms to be embraced
no feeling of aloneness , no need to weep
closeness remains, no ending or space

no letters to write or phone calls to make
dreams will bring you to my side
at the end of your day you may take
the memories in the winds that ride

Native American Love Poem

I walk to you
softly upon this earth
among things great and small
remembering one great Spirit
created us all...

You walk in beauty
my eyes always seeking
the red and purple sunset
beholding in your eyes
pastel and calico I can't forget...

I dance for you at dawn
upon our bed of evening light
riding on a dark cloud
praying for your female rain
in a house of pollen I chant out loud...

Hey yaw, hey yaw

In my house of evening twilight
in our dreams made of dark clouds
you in your moccasins of dark clouds
dance your way to me
as you chant for me out loud...

Hey yaw, hey yaw...

Love Is a Many Splendored Thing

Love is a many splendored thing A hit song once used that title Love is a major part of all our lives The emotion that's particularly vital Vital in the health and total well being Of all creatures great and small Contentment that lasts for all eternity It's the greatest treasure of all It seems the older this old guy gets The more passionate he becomes D'ya think I might need to visit a shrink Will my addiction be overcome Riding off into the sunset with milady Yelling ride 'em cowboy, yeehaw Real true love's a many splendored thing Should make true love the law © Jack Ellison 2014

Gypsy King

Glorious are the days we ride, my love.
You and I riding in the morning light.
Passions racing hearts are thundering.
Sunrise explodes pink and purple streaks across the sky.
You and I smiling, riding together in the first light.

Kindred spirits racing together chasing the morning star.
Intoxicated on the morning air.
Nowhere, but here in this moment.
Glorious is the day we ride.

Love Riding

When I'm riding
I feel free.
All my worries,
go away.
And I love the
Feel of the wind in my hair.
I feel free.
I feel like myself on a horse.
