love,
I lost myself in the smile of your eyes
And found the world around would disappear
I welcomed your arms with all it implies
And felt the warmth of your smile coming near
To nourish my heart with love so it blooms
In my realm of brighter shades that was dark
To bring to it such vibrant colored plumes
And add beauty to this life we'll embark
Like thieves in the night treasures to capture
We will steal the days and build a rampart
And drink from the cup of passion's rapture
To run with the winds the winds are our heart
Whether dusk of dawn or a sunset's splay
Gave you my heart when I asked you to stay

nature,
Claps of thunder, growling sighs
Crackling light spears, ruptured skies
Dark bruised smudges, jostling clouds
Wanton weaving, angry shrouds.
Water effusions, driving rain
Flooded fields, congested drains
Forcible winds, quaking leaves
Bending branches, bowing trees.
Birds are silent, shy dogs hide
Children reach for sheltering sides
Fish dive deeply, spiders curl
Senses dizzied, fearful swirls.
Clouds are broken, grinning sun
Arching eyebrow, rainbow tongue
Storm is humbled, joyous sounds
Love runs rampart, peace abounds

I can't continuously catch this connection
coroscating so cordially as a cure...
Captivating my cranium contemporaneously
contaminating collation of common sense.
I can't think...
And our growing link
makes my heart sink
with your every wink!
Blink... Blink...
Are you reality?
I reach right past self-denial's ruse of
what's real with no rest reeking of regicide
fearing a relapse regarding regression.
Recklessly running rampart racing
to our heart's reunion.
Your soul saying "Speak sonnets of Sensuality".
So sexy yet sensibly sweet...
Seeking to be shown your sentiments.
You're the destination of heaven above.
And I... am in love!

betrayal,
To drop my chalice filled with passion's pain
From crooked hands clenched in your darkest mind
Its wormwood drought, is less of bile that stains
Let spill and wash this earthen floor of time
Quickly flee from this dung lit realm of shades
And seek your silver empty cup to fill
In pouring fountains of the willing hearts
That always flow beyond the farthest hill
It's where I lost your love for evermore
Drift into dark before the setting sun
Fled my world like shadows the light abhors
Pierced my beating heart until night begun
A monument now crumbles in my heart
Left to lay as false love, a stone rampart

God with His omnipotent love* prevails
dispels angst of fear engulfing grieved heart
sufficient midst mercy when own strength fails
timely to shield soul from bitterness’ dart
yeah, indeed vanquishing woe that assails
hoists faith along caring and sharing rampart.

confusion, depression, loss, lost love, love, sad
somber nights, forlorn hearts
devastating rampart, we're torn apart
getting there, its very near
I am here, no need to fear
every night is ruminations, every morning is humiliations
I am here, no need to fear
fragmented glass, falling on the grass
forever declining, immortally drowning
in the vigour of your verses, the grave of the curses
threads of never-ending deception, eternal fabrication
letting go, setting free of your ego
gone with the wind, lost in thought of a hint
frail minds, ardent tides
passionate thoughts, ******** of faults
isolated this impudent day, please don't go away
seceding lines, fervent vines
burning tears, cooling the years.

betrayal, heartbreak, hurt, love hurts,
I stack my bricks together
Assemble one by one
Construct myself a barrier
To hide from everyone
My soul's become too fragile
It's shivery and weak
Ramshackled by dishonesty
Enfeebled by deceit
So I've engineered a fortress
An rampart for the pain
Ensconced behind my barrier
I'll never hurt again
So I stack and stack and stack my bricks
My emotion thwarting wall
A soul saving work of masonry
To shield me from it all

love,
Boundless streams the river . . .
Boughs shake under tears of eden
trembles close ever shall she take
Fire on the causeway embers spark my seams
stoking skylight's freedom
crazing down my beams
Standing in her present hovers fill my floor
whispers fill the garden
breathless kneads my door
Water beads the meadow thunder rolls the one
passion waves her fingers
the rampart comes undone
Inscription on the window sorrow floats away
reflection clears with the honey
inside is where I'll stay
Boundless streams the river baby
but here I choose to stay

Upheld steadfastly by sovereign brace
My existence extols divine grace.
Filled now with earnest gratitude
I ascend toward faith’s altitude
Propped by God’s unwavering might
Midst love-wrought service delight:
Fulfilling commitment from the start
Reaching-out along volunteerism rampart
Ministering well against selfishness’ dart
Pleasing Lord with joyous heart*.

anxiety, cry, imagination,
Could be Hastings Street,
or Lenox Avenue.
Could be 18th and Vine
And still be true.
Could be 5th and Mound,
Could be Rampart:
When you pawned my watch
You pawned my heart.
Could be you love me
Could be that you don't.
Might be that you'll come back
Like as not you won't.
Hastings Street is weary,
Also Lenox Avenue.
Any place is dreary
Without my watch and you.
