Two Pairs of Shoes

Two pairs of shoes beside the bed.
Mine are tiny, his large instead.

His are steel toed, sandals are mine.
His dull and dark, but mine have shine.

Opposites yes, just like our shoes.
When I'm happy, he has the blues.

My secret to brighten his mood...
A large rare steak, his kind of food.

I like the soaps, he likes the news.
When I watch mine, he takes a snooze.

I can't stand to see people die...
Watching his news just makes me cry.

Even though, we might have a fight
Love keeps us together all night.

And each night when we go to sleep.
Two pairs of shoes, company keep!

'that Familiar Smile'

There I was standing, deep in thought You never crossed my mind, Until you appeared out of nowhere No warning, just with that familiar smile, Like you've been there all along Waiting for me to look up I was taken by surprise The impact you had, The impact you still have On my mood, My emotions Thought I was immune to your powers Guess that was only just a dream You are back and so is that smile The one thing I spend many nights trying To forget, Just like that, it is all back To mess with my pretty little head

Still Love You More Than As Before

Thousand years! Thousand years it is
Long living like the undying breeze
Deep down my self, deep down my ease
In the thick bark of my heart a love does exist
Thousand years ago
There exist for my mood, a flower that glows
Regulating my heartbeat and blood flow
Raising my guts up and down, in rows
Making my emotions like trumpets blow
Thousand years! Oh so long many years
And I can still feel the pricks of her lovely spear
And the scent of her placating presence, like roses very rare
Oh thousand years, and the love still exist, yes!
I still love you, till forever nonetheless

Colour Me Lilac

He gave her a Rose what else could he do
her bands so tied a one way avenue
though not Red nor White or hard to find Blue
a token to hide from kin’s retinue.

He gives her a smile to bridge hyper space
he’s let her down his prowess a disgrace
longs for Lilac eyes that match her face
oozing memories of lasting the pace.

Everything was blue in the sky at dawn
pitting his mood being one with the thorn
a stone cold kiss for love he feels sawn
in reality this his life borne.

In a Nude Mood of Bittersweet Interlude

Romanticism descends an unbridled staircase
bittersweet; stripped bare and unleashed
passion in supple nudity
sashays down my spine
a ginned up shimmy and sway yearn
tingling every naked nerve with a sudden surge
of electric longing and unmasked pulses of pang and pleasure

Oceanfront

Sea stalked by moon tonight in site
On waters that dilate gone by—
Its apparition's bed on shore,
That moon lays on like ruby's lure—
The knees clamber from salty might.

The tinting in her frosty side
Where she was swept once by the tide;
The backwhip of the swell still roars—
                       Sea stalked by moon.

As the mood on the beach is spry,
Combing while I'm alone with I,
Ill hearted at the gills; spoiled for
The sand dollar spends its life chore,
All washed out suddenly before...
                      Sea stalked by moon.

My Magical Kite

I'd love to build a magical kite
Then find myself a steep hill,
Strap myself in, wait for a gust,
Oh just imagine the thrill.

Off I would soar, into the blue,
To mingle high with the clouds,
Free as a bird, no worries or cares,
Away from mind numbing crowds.

I'd fly high, over the briney
And glide like a lone albatross,
I'd steer towards the horizon,
Then over the ocean I'd cross.

In joyful abandon, up there in the sky
Soaring in rapturous mood,
But that I could, just for a day,
Be lost, in such blessed solitude.

The path of bliss

A playful rhythm arises from within
It is, it is, oh so mood uplifting
Each breath intake sees joy afresh begin
Light that ignites us, to vast space gifting

The flame of bliss flickers not in the breeze
Vagaries of fate have on us no hold
Throb of rapture we embrace and release
Our luminous aura now flaming gold

Ah! Come on, come nearer, caress sublime
Pristine presence presses forward its case
Reverberates in heart the cosmic chime
Truly love effervescence is God’s grace

Moment to moment all moments entwined ~
Our consciousness is thus by bliss refined

Separate Ways

I always wanted more
Than you were prepared to give;
It leads us now to separate ways
With altered lives to live.
My heart will always beat for you
With what little is left intact;
Love for you has come and gone
So now there's no turning back.
If you ever have a lonesome day
With nothing else to do;
Think back on our love filled days
When my love was all for you.

The Urban Battlefield

(The final utterance and testament
of a fallen comrade. Belfast 1979)

He
never knew
till he laid there naked.
(A withering heap of travesty.)
How blue the sky
how green the grass,
each tiny blade reminiscent
of a gentle touch from a bygone age.
Each wound on fire,
yet a confound complement
to a burning passion
of a love he was about
to leave behind.
He
saw formidable clouds
begin to threaten
the moment,
yet gently
refreshing droplets
tantalize the mood,
blend with a body
and it’s blood, before
washing a mind
free of it’s pain
forever!

Sweet Silver Blue

Heart-warming wine
Jot down a line
Mood changes hue
To sweet silver blue

How high the cost
How much is lost
Back payment due
To sweet silver blue

Head shake and sigh
None left to deny
Insight in view
To sweet silver blue

Somehow I gain
Beauty from pain
As thoughts turn to you
To sweet silver blue

In the Mood For Love

Radiant beams of Aubade,
Basking brilliant aura,
Sun is in the mood......

Ramifying fragrance of florets
And aroma of plants,
Wind is in the mood.....

Nurturing spirit into seedlings,
Blooming plants and all mortals
Water is in the mood........

Blessing us with soulmates, pals
And little ones,
Toning the ambiance and climate,
The creator is in the mood......

Bestow upon us thy commendation
Oh lord !
Glorify us with divine crotchet !!

Abandoned Dreams

Knotted in the torsion of a tempest’s mood -
the barrage drains the sun and overwhelms the dusk
ire’s flash stabs the night.

With Gift In Hand

With Gift in Hand (Cornish Sonnet)

He went in search of love’s abode;
far off she lived in solitude.
Along the narrow winding road,
in awe partook of nature’s charms
and forged ahead in eager mood
instilled by thought of waiting arms.

With gift in hand, a heartfelt ode,
he hummed the lyrics to a tune,
inhaled the fragrance, as he strode,
of the wild flowers wrapped in hues.
He knew his journey would end soon
beside his loving ardent muse.

He went in search of love’s abode
with gift in hand, a heartfelt ode.

24 Hours

24 Hours

My observations are my own,
They are a product of my realm.
I see good people reveal humanity
I feel the desperation of an innocent man
I acknowledge the appreciation of my gift
I determine narration to be lies
I witness the love between mother and son
I loathe drunk drivers
I impose pride for vinyl collection
I depict pain in my son who lost his
Brother
   Kids
     Daddy
I let the lyrics of my spinning disc alter my mood
I experience the gift of empathy to share with a friend.
I receive gratitude for guidance I give to the addicted
I witness the numbing of pain
I accept rewards for my passions
The properties of today will navigate my path in life

Romance

Chill setting in daylight hours wane. Roast in the oven candles aglow A little soft music to heighten the mood. Put a log on the fire and wait for your call. Snow falling down blanketing the earth Perfect night for romance Just me and you A bottle of wine A soft kiss or two We lay by the fire Saying I love you

Feeling Blue

I was feeling blue tonight.
Remembering the pain
of you leaving again.
When our children blamed me.

Blue is my favourite colour.
Light blue especially. Reminding
me of clear summer skies.
And warm goodbyes.

Navy blue of night, stars bright.
Moon reflected on still water.
Skinny dips and deep kisses
Before I became your Mrs.

Music can be blue too.
To match my mood.
When I think of you, or try
not to...as the case may be.

Black and blue, my battered heart.
Right from the start.
No Valentine for me.
I'm done with love you see.

His Love Restored Me

For Timothy Lee
I floundered, lost myself to then be found. I shattered, broke as pieces to be glued. His love restored me newly, wholly-bound. No man have my emotions better viewed. No love so warms my life as does his heart. No face in smile could better stroke my joy, or truer lover paint my soul deep art, than brushes my man has at his employ. When he is playful, I do romp in cheer. When he is somber, I do listen best. No matter his mood, he is my sweet dear. No matter his need, he is my heart zest. As warmth, he soothes away my daily aches. As safety, he protects our love’s deep stakes.

Parable of the Butterfly

Parable of the Butterfly

A beautiful butterfly of blue landed on my nose.
I was so delighted that I kept it in a cage.
Nurtured it and sang to it, I love it so.
But the Butterfly was sad, would not eat and the wings wilted.
It broke my heart to see this beautiful creature in this way.
I knew that if I let her go she would not return.
This sad day I let her go and I cried.
The next day while in my porch rocking chair in sadden mood,
the butterfly returned and Landed on my nose.
I let her be with me and not in a cage and we were happy.

A Gentle Touch

Something Sweet,
A gentle touch.
A faraway dream,
here I am stuck.

Something sour,
a slight change in mood.
A regrettable decision,
to find the truth.

A little thought.
A mile away.
A gentle touch,
be brave today.

I learned a lesson;
To love and let go.
To never forget...
The highs or the lows.

The Poet Destroyer Vs. the Acrostic Italian: Round Five

Poetry is designed for love making,
Only because these words still sound so sweet,
Easily uttered to a perfect beat,
Telling me why your legs are still shaking.
Do not begin to think about faking!
Everybody can detect the heat
Surrounding your body from head to feet,
Turning on an oven made for baking.
Remember to leave me enough head room,
Or I just might be the one who goes numb.
You will be swept away by my lead broom,
Elevated beyond where you came from.
Roses from the bath tub to the bedroom,
Sets the mood for anything else to come.

Dark Red Moon

Was the moon in a bad mood?
It came up from over the horizon
Dark red, deep rubicund.
It rose slowly
Following its normal pattern.
Still dark red, erubescent
As if in anger.

I sat on the pusillanimous sand, alone.
Moody and irritable.
Now she had left.
And I'm sad and angry,
Unlike the wavelets
That flowed over the rim of the beach.
There will be no peace between us.

Still the moon shone
Dark red.

Yuck

YUCK

I know we are supposed to love them
all creatures great and small

I know God had a reason
when he created those that crawl

even those that creep and flit
are part of a master plan

filling every earthly niche
in air, in water, on land

but Lord in your mighty scheme
please tell me in what mood

as you perused your work
and saw that it was good

inspected every nook and cranny
touched every leaf and twig

prompted you without a glance
to invent the pesky earwig.
