Behind Those Beautiful Eyes

Behind those beautiful eyes,
So much anger,so much mistrust,
Always expecting the worst,
Always conversing about the bad
things life has to offer,

Behind those beautiful eyes,
So much hurt,so much pain,
Bottled up bad experiences overflowing,
Crying to be unleashed,to be released,

Behind those beautiful eyes,
High expectation,countless plans,
Many things to still achieve,
So many things you still haven't done,

Behind those beautiful eyes,
Is a body,searching for comfort,
A mind,searching for peace,
And a heart searching for true love,

All behind those beautiful eyes.....

Her Smile

Her smile thawed mistrust.

Her looks opened his heart wide--
-

Blooming are love's fields!

Our Fight

Clouds of doubt hovered
Over our heads
They multiplied and grew to
Mistrust
That brewed into a storm of anger which
Unleashed its rage in
Thunder of words and
Lightning of gestures.

In a while
The exhausted tempest subsided
Clouds dissipated
The sun of trust hesitantly appeared
It grew stronger and brighter,
Reason prevailed,
Feelings warmed up,
Harts palpitated,
Arms opened wide
And
We threw ourselves into
Each other's embrace
Finding thus shelter in
Our love

Hence

Fearing the coming of a
A new storm, NO MORE!

Lessons Well Learned

Lessons Well Learned

(from The John Poems)

You taught me what love is
     then took it away.
You became my sunlight
      then banished the day.
You awakened my body
      to love of a man
Then condemned me to live
without the touch of your hand.
You brought life to my heart
     and opened my soul;
You nourished my mind
     and made me feel whole.

But now thanks to you,
     I've also learned pain.
I know now that loneliness
    Can drive you insane.
I've learned of betrayal,
     loneliness, mistrust---
And I know understand
     the myth that was us.

Undone

He's left me. I'm coming undone -
like linen on a spinning wheel
much in need of still being spun.
Half-cloth, I'm feeling unreal.

In need of completion, I'm lost.
He's left me. I'm coming undone.
as if to brusque winds I've been tossed.
i seek a sweet breeze. There are none.

His touch, like the warmth of the sun,
is gone. Only blackness i see.
He's left me. I'm coming undone.
Dark waters are swallowing me.

He gave me no cause for mistrust.
Vibrant was i when we'd begun.
But now I am turning to dust.
He’s left me. I’m coming undone.

Who Am I?

You say that you know me. Well who am I?
Am I the person that I appear to be on the outside?
Full of love...
Always happy...
Willing to help others...
self confident...

Or am I the person I feel on the inside?
Full of mistrust...
never happy...
always full of greed...
I lack having self confidence...
love is something I never had,
so how can I give my share?
If I don't know who I am,
How do you really know who I am?

The Red, Flashing 1 On My Answering Machine

I saw that red, flashing “1” on my answering machine
and stared at it for over an hour;
in my thoughts replayed that terrible scene –
she must have called while I was in the shower.

Perhaps that message is one of remorse;
Perhaps it continues the fight;
Hit the button to listen … I couldn’t, of course
and watched it flashing throughout the night.

We volleyed words of anger and disgust;
She left with a slam of the door.
Where once stood love is only mistrust -
this has happened a few times before.

I stared at that “1” flashing at me,
and realized this ending I must complete –
it was time I set both of us free,
so I pressed the button – “Delete”.

Family 1

Family is one of the paramount thing in life,
it's more than gold and silver!
There might be a bit of rivalry, disappointment and frustration;
but in the end, love for each other prevails.
Sweet or bad memories, makes our family matters most!
Family is one of the finest things about nature and relationships. Family in test of time, family stands of all odds!
No one applied to be born in a rich or poor family.
No one applied to be born in notorious family.
No one applied to be born in a diplomatic family.
Family is like an Oasis in the hottest desert!
Love clears up all misunderstanding and mistrust!

Masked

Hidden deep behind soulful eyes
beauty emerges but remains unseen
unearthed this buried treasure
l'attrait caché derrière le masque
Words spoken hearts revealed broken
for is it fear that keeps one cloaked
to remain in the absence of light
to seek comfort, solace, sympathy
in a world of hatred and mistrust
where one can not be hurt
if one is not known
where the past is the past
and love can finally be found
Step out from the shadows of insecurities
and into the light
of hope, trust, and conviction
for there is where life lies

The Battle Within

I speak of My God with a heart that's on fire
I speak of My God with a true desire
I speak of My God who has given me life
I speak of My God that only a few will see his light
I speak of My God who has given me faith to dream
I speak of My God with no fear and this I've seen
I speak of My God who I pray to each night
I speak of My God that he will open your eyes bright
I speak of My God that he will take away your fright

For in God we should love and never judge
even for those who mistrust or begrudge.

Jealousy

Submitted for Jealousy contest

feelings, green, heart, heartbroken, jealousy, passion
A string of dodoitsu poetry on jealousy

Jealousy soars a sour note
Deadens all perceptions true
Carries emptiness inside
 A broken heart ruled!

Tears sting and run like rivers
When jealous acts take over
To one's inefficiencies
Envied mistrust rules!

Green-eyed looks cause love hang-ups
Monsters insecurities
That mate with hatred and bile
Wed only heartache!

A Loving Mate

In this ugly world of mistrust and hate A redeeming factor is when love resonates Above all else Even a lifetime of wealth Can't compare to the caring of a loving mate

Hieroglyph and Hologram

Your heart is a stone
inscribed with cobras, vultures, ribs and reed.
You say what I see is not what you mean.

You confound me with sounds.
One word is a zoo
with water that ripples—
an arm in the pool.

My love is a laser
that dazzles the screen
projecting an image, an effortless read.

And you, so resilient, but ancient, alone
mistrust my projections unscripted in stone.

I can’t help but love an uncrackable code.
With heart holographic, this coupling can float.

War of Hearts

WE BATTLE THE HATE OF ANGER,
WE ABUSE THE POWER OF LOVE,
WE MISTRUST THE MEANING OF
FAITH, WE MISJUDGE THE
STRENGTH OF GOD....

A WAR OF HEARTS WE CHEAT,
THOU WE BARGIN TO CHANGE, BUT
PAY THE COST AGAINST THE
ENEMIES WHO TRY TO INLUDE
US.....

TIME CAN STOP, THE MOMENT WE
LET DREAMS DIE, DON'T HESITATE
TO KEEP THEM ALIVE, CROSS THE
LINE....

PRAYER IS THE HEALING, PEACE IS
THE GENERATION, LOVE IS THE
GIFT, GOD IS THE ANSWER,,,,

Farewell False Foe

You pompous poison

Maze of monotonous mistrust

Frail heart full of treason

Delirious repentance

Blasphemous bait betrayed

Regret grown grief

Fire flaming fantasy filled

A fate framed future foretold

Love can now rest knowing

Your destined diabolical death

Farewell false foe

Love Is

Hurt confusion still holds its grip
Trying to raise above the pain of total betrayal
Truth has opened my eyes
This was not love
Love doesn't hurt, guilt or mistrust
Love is devotion, kindness and understanding
Love is compassion and selflessness
Love is not sacrificing who you are, it is embracing everything you are

The Long Distance Dilemma

Long the distance existing between us,
making things a little complicated,
leaving confusion and a slight mistrust.
And yet we both are still quite unsated.

Thoughts are not too clear when speaking to you,
making stupidity quite evident,
leaving me seem worthless: annoying too.
And yet you stay, listening to me vent.

You make fun, picking on me constantly.
Making me smile and laugh, you're such a goof.
But when you joke about leaving, you see,
I'm stuck with a fear of you gone, just poof.

I want to be with you, if only i could.
I love you, more than i probably should.

I Overheard

I overheard harsh words
between two lovers next door,
each bearing shields
of mistrust and pride
that covered the words
‘I love you’.

Their door slowly opens
and her crying issued forth
upon this neighbor near
a memory fresh and clear
of words I never spoke
‘I love you’.

Secrets In a Marriage

Secrets causes one to mistrust
The love doesn't feel the same anymore
Instead of feeling happy
You feel lonely and sore

All you do is argue and fight
It last through the morning
And carries into the night
The smile has disappeared off my face

When I think about this marriage
I feel nothing but disgrace
In hopes that things would change
I stay looking to God's grace

Instead of looking for space
The love feels empty inside
Sometimes when I think about this marriage
I want to go away somewhere and hide

I don't know where our love will go
But deep inside my heart
I'm wishing that it would last
Hoping that the hurt
Could be left in the past

Sickening

Sickening
8/29/12
By: Sami LaRose

The spins the spins

Such a terrible thing

I would get them every time I committed a sin

Lies & Mistrust

Turn into innocent little f*cks

Innocent no way at all,

You've been in love with him since last fall.

The minutes turn into hours

And hours into days

You suddenly feel as if you are in a deep haze

Two years go by and everything's still the same

If only things could go back to the more wonderful days.

We'll all admit that we've taken love for granted

But who's to say that some things aren’t worth second chances?

Somebody's Sleeping Sound Tonight

Somebody’s sleeping sound tonight -
Because you let your guard down;
I know,
Because I witnessed it
And you don’t know the half of it!

They were alone and full of doubt,
But you stood by and helped them out.
I know,
Because I seen it all;
Now somebody is standing tall.

How did you see through their mistrust?
And see them as they really are?
I know,
Because you’ve been there too
Now somebody’s in love with You!

I’m glad that you got through to them,
Nobody could before you;
I know,
Because you made me see -
The somebody you saved, is me.

Lesson Learnt

The sun shining
The birds singing
It is another morning,
Bells of yesterday keep ringing
I hold my heart from sinking
I let my pen do the speaking
The pain my own I keep flowing
What I've got exposing
      HOPING
A time is coming
To expect respect
From the heart suspects
Mistresses of mistrust
New world Delilah
We gone 'LILA NA FILA'
Trashed
Mine is a love rushed
A heart smashed
A sad piece piercing my heart
I take heart
I seek a new start
A matter of hearts a crucial step
A quick step to another step
Stop not at the last step
As a sad piece pierce my heart
A lesson learnt.

A Most Precious Thing

Real true love is such a precious thing Unequaled in our human emotions Certainly way ahead of hate and mistrust This feeling of absolute devotion Like no other since the world was new So honoured and tested by time Like a soft summer breeze on a starlit night Like the smell of sweet roses divine Nothing equals the feeling of love Not even sweet chocolate fudge Uh maybe chocolate fudge is pretty close Naw, love's much sweeter, nudge, nudge Ahh, I've thought of something sweeter The smell of a newborn infant Now who could contest that my friends Totally divine, like heaven sent

Was It True Love

Was it true love or was it simply lust?
What defines the line between these two words?
Is it forever or shattered to dust?
Will time explain or is that just absurd?

Was it a sign from above or a bust?
When will we see clearly in this thick haze?
Should the betrayed stay loyal or mistrust?
Will the truth be found or lost within days?

Was it a waste of time or destined must?
How does a person ever really know?
Who's pain should dwell or absolutely rust?
Will it be forgotten or seen as low?

Was it true love or was it simply lust?
A heart always knows, and it you must trust.

Sonnet 57 'How Deep the Stings That Make Men Mistrust Love'

How deep the stings that make men mistrust Love,
And women fly from comforts that Love brings,
And deeper is the poison in poisoned rings
That longing hearts refuse the thinking of.
There is no other station that can wound
As deeply, or as surely, as Love stabs
No other hook grabs deeply as Love grabs
And no lute, more than Love, as finely tuned
Can make my music sob, vibrate the strings
Of all the lutes that ever were, will be
With consonances. O! That I could Thee
Awaken, to the joys that Sweet Love brings.
But you would rather have than me, I think,
Brown eyes, brown hair, a Handsome with a wink!
