Chaplinesque

I am a silent movie,
a corny melodrama
played in black and white
with an observable flicker.
A little tramp
accompanied by ragtime piano.

You are pure A-list
Technicolor,
Dolby digital
THX, IMAX laser,
Oscar winner
3D blockbuster.

And yet you love
me.

Sapiophile Desire

make love to her mind before you engage her body

melt her with mellifluous metaphors
arouse her with amorous alliterations
romance her with rapturous rhymes
tempt her with tantalizing terzas
lure her in with loving lyrics
seduce her with sexy sonnets
pamper her with poetic praises

now, get ready for the night of your life

Bit of Truth and Wisdom, Found In Old Age

Bit Of Truth And Wisdom, Found In Old Age

At that age wisdom says life is a joke
consider blindness of other poor folk.
Stop to ponder why on earth we exist
you may just find giving on that big list.

To live well, love hard and thus procreate
easy to see easier to relate.
Living life together with your soulmate
should be a part of everybody's Fate!

Finding life is not about what you got
should be holding solid, number one spot
Tis more about life lived well and deeper
with one you found, knew to be a keeper

If long life, happiness is your great aim
if reaching not for it, you are to blame!

In Your Lockup

sweet and citron voice, fondled a whisper
did you say, "O my Love, pulling me close
refreshing spring water, cooler and crisper
restless eyes now crave, to forever repose

a vista of orchids, into my soul you dive
where a frantic heart, beats in your fervour
No more secrets, so effortlessly you arrive
in every corner, dreams in vain endeavour

in swarm of thousand kisses, I slowly melt
impetuous arms hug, a wild maddened sea
faintly glowing cinder, every cell now felt
an embrace, in your lockup, you set me free

Just a Bit of Dust

Recently learned the word malaprop, didn't want to dally on this something silly, cheers dilly

The dust flew off the top of the sealant fan
Frantically I started to clean my barns out
I swept it quickly up in my little dust pan
Worked up quite a thirst, without a drought

I spot checked with a test of the right glove
Everything finally seeming so slick and span
Until in the room walked the life of my love
And he turned on that damned dusty fan

I screamed and yelled from the tip of my lung
And passed a list of chores called honey poo
Is that what it's called? it's on the top of my tongue
Swept up all the dust again, that's what my honey do

What Do I Think of Love

What do I think of when I think of love Without a doubt, it's you When I think of sunshine and pretty flowers And the love we have, we two What do I think of when I think of passion Of course I think of we two When I think of all the good things in life At the top of the list is you What do I think of when I think of softness It's you I think of, it's you When I think of contentment and my happy soul You're the one, so true When I reach my final resting place My last thought will be of you Forever and ever your everlasting love And the love we had, we two

My Blessings...

Steven, My Love, my best friend in life,

Parents that support me in whatever I do;

My two puppies Zeus & Eos (both mutts)

My heritage of Potawatomi, Huron and Sioux;

A family willing to lend me support,

A wonderful house to come home to;

A simple world I can call my own,

My siblings, out there to help pull me through;

My horses willing and full of heart,

And all of my friends - Old and New;

My semi-good health and happiness;

And the passion that writing allows me to peruse!

Counting Every Blessing

I thank our Lord for the blessings bestowed:

Even though my wound still oozes, my skin cancer was completely removed
My fingernails are unusually strong and I have emery board access
The food I eat may be cheap and meager, but at least it keeps me alive
Much free time is mine because little work is available
How lucky I am to have friends who will laugh and cry with me at life’s troubles
I appreciate the ability to love and show compassion
Thankfully, I don’t drool too much when I eat
And most of all I am blessed with a sense of humor

O MINE VALENTINE

We are a twine of
lines...vines
limbs
hair
fingers
sheets
blankets
couches

streets
signs
misgivings
mistakes
retreats
agressions

2 chairs
2 drinks
a fire
an oven
a burner
a melted finish
and a perpetually unmelted finish

longings
clutchings
graspings
open doors
unopened doors
closed doors
slammed doors
cracked open doors
wide open doors

tears
cries
beggings
wishings
promisings

spinning wheels
rising roads
falling rain
calls
texts
silence
long extended open unbracketed Silence
dark thick silence
light bright silence
hopeful silence
cresting like a star being born silence
....we begin again

Opening Petals of Want

you touch me
and I fall away
to nothing

breaking apart
into a thousand
petals of want

I am as bewitched
as the trail
that lies beneath
your hand

incantations
sing through my blood
and I am wrought,
with my need
to list into you

at just a touch
I need to inhale
but,

you breath life
into every molecule
to overflow my spirit
and in the essence
of love

I lay in want
of the masters
hand

and to fall as petals
at his feet

What I Want

I want to hear sweet nothings give silent feelings a voice. And I want you to love me, show me you are here by choice. I want us to survive storms, strengthened by our tears and pain. And I want what we once had, sharing our feelings again. I want to be thoroughly intertwined, body and soul. And I want to skip the past, for the future is our goal. I want memories, not dreams, on our list of things to do. And I want to feel alive; but most of all, I want you.

Venus' Wish List

I want the sun
Served on a dish of silver and gold
Carved by the skilled hands of Hephaestus.

Pick up Mount Olympus
Place it down at my feet
Adore me in all heavenly glory.

Take all the sea salts to powder my hair
Make the lilies not die at night
Take the perfume of the roses and make it mine.

Scoop all the stars from the night sky
Embroider them on a dress of gentle silk
Give it to me with slippers made of glass.

Make all creation sing to me
birds, sea, creatures and legendary beings
Give all of this to me in exchange for my love.

All These Things and More!

Alive today, in this time, undeserving, yet, I am blessed…
By His divine mercy
By His eternal love
With a resolute faith
With a loving family
With special friends – a few
With hands yearning to heal
With a gift of verse -sometimes
With a gift of stitching - therapeutic
With a spirit for sharing
With a penchant for nature – no reptiles
With a special love for roses
With a beautiful smile that welcomes
With great fondness for the sea shore
With an incredible love for books and music
With a heart that loves unconditionally
With eyes that still see some good
For all these things-everything and
More!

Love Deceives

Behind the mountain, beyond the azure sky
unexplored passions, I've watched them die
unshed tears, clouds cross a dried fountain
beyond the azure sky, behind the mountain.

Waiting for a someone, youth and vigour lost
a fire of crimson rose, kissed by chilling frost
petals now withered, damage had been done
youth and vigour lost, waiting for a someone

A bunch of dead leaves, sculling in breeze
winter's sun, shadows murmuring in trees
hollow words echo, knowing love deceives
sculling in breeze, a bunch of dead leaves.

Dear God

Dear God,

First of all, this next year open my eyes and heart in prayer

Then when I read my Bible, let Your Word remove all cares

Next, during each day let Love be my guide

Show me ways to let kindness in my life thrive

Reveal to me my mistakes and sin, help me not do them again

In Your Son's name, I present these request

                                                    Amen

Troubadour

Expose faster
your songs from limbo
of your soul and exposes
your bosom...!
Do it list and with tenderness...
May you sing them beautifully
and grace...!
cast them accurately
on your beloved balcony,
at the counter of your intended...
Do it with maximum promptness
and grace, because you're at risk
that she listens to the songs
of love from another
further agile troubadour... and
  be enchanted...!

Kissing You

You lips on mines. I think about that everytime I see you smile. Your hands on my thighs that
what I think about when you touch apart of my body. Your eyes only looking at me that's what I
want to see when I look into them. Your kisses so warm they would fill me completely. I would
be forever full with just one kiss. Your on a list of mines and though I tried to fight it you stay
constantly on my mind. Kissing you. Being near you. Loving you. Taking the pain away from you
is all I want to. My body is yearning to be free. Your not making it any easier being here. But I
want you here. Open my gate.

                            The Champagne of Life
                                       7/26/2023

Tis the delight of the liquid, golden, morning sun,
Gleaming in my tall, orange juice’s crystal glass.
Add gratitude, for you, a poet, with morals and class.

You may not be the best poet at the top of the list.
But to communicate your very best is your wish.
You are not all out there, trying to be a champion fish!

People like you. dear friend, communicate love.
For you are the rainbow bubbles in my day’s hours.
I read humble you, with joy, in these poetic towers
