Whisper Soft Into the Night

Distant prayers echo through a lilac sky
light flickers brilliantly in angelic eyes
a yellow crocheted blanket falls to the floor
and a growing heart winks inside.

Kindness breeds kindness in a precious heart
and a kindred spirit lifts and flies free.
helping our fellow man in need
forgiving selfishness and greed

Open up your heart and mind
another child feeds a hungry soul
for one who loves to love, the greatest
blessing of all, is seeing the one you love, love

Whisper soft into the night my dire want
let the rains wash down a growing grace
carry off grandeur into a sequel led estate
as a simple smile adorns a very humble face

Lilah of the Lilacs

Like violets were her eyes when first I spied the lady with a sweet child’s face who peeked at me from bushes that she stood beside, alluring Lilah, beaming, apple-cheeked! And so it was that more and more I found myself among the lilacs in that place where first we’d met, that I might hear the sound of Lilah’s laugh and glimpse her angel’s face. On fragrant garden paths we knew the thrill of blossoming affection. Poetry was time we spent! But when my love fell ill, the autumn of our bliss was not to be. . . I visit Lilah now where she’s at rest nearby the lilac blooms she liked the best.

Finding Love:

Such lovely lilac and crimson tones, As a rainbow of colours fill the sky, Radiant and beautiful soothes my bones, Takes me above the clouds so far and high. Captured in a moment of total bliss, Wondering all the time what is life for? Suspended in awe like a lover’s kiss, Never felt like this to my very core. Love all around and it's time I was found, Beauty everywhere can't you see her smile, Smiling at you and smiling all around, It's time you gave love a chance for awhile. But leave me above the clouds, here I'll stay, I have found love in a different way. /|\ (Ten syllables per line) 31~10~16

Nature of My Poetry

Let us embrace
like twilight kisses the sun goodnight.
Indulge in hues of scarlet, crimson and lilac,
until the salutation of stars .

In the nothingness of silence,
our souls will whisper sweet symphonies,
as we flow with sensual tones of night.

Tenderness of touch will compose a concerto,
along the nakedness of your innocence.

I will hold you like a violin,
feel smooth sensations of your strings.
Pulsate like a passionate pianist,
caressing silky ivory and satin ebony keys.

Upon the first scent of dawn,
I will watch your heart sigh,
as you lay breathless in my arms -
and become the nature of my poetry.

tied to the moon

when air-brushed stars croon.. my soul sways, tied to the moon lost in twinkling tune seeking for rose light from plum reveries tonight~ questioning twilight.. am I not fine art metered refrain to restart music of your heart.. but will rivers heed thoughts that stream in neon fields~ of teal auroras .. swirling and twirling… vinyl rhythms of warm astral~ spirits cloaked in sage… in silence, I dream in a bed of lilac clouds~ of you, me, and love..

I Met Her On a Tuesday

Hints of lilac filtered through the garden
a pretty butterfly just sat at rest
me lost in amazement
soft rays of sunshine clinging to my chest

The stone bench held my attention
as love notes floated through the air
my heart was in a flutter
sensing she was near

Her eyes were sweet as honey
her skin had that special glow
her lips so moist they begged for me
to memorize the passion that they showed

I met her on a Tuesday
that's when the world for me would shift
the stars shot past the heavens
as our souls would forever drift

Colors of Love

Deep within my hidden pastel dreams
are soft sweet colors of a newborn spring
dressed up in mauves and pinks and windham creams
while giving hope to love and all it brings.

Painted in the colors of the dawn,
like pinks and purples of the morning sky,
magenta dreams will bloom and love will spawn
as newly mated hearts begin to fly.

And thus our lilac love has taken flight
while sharing orchid thoughts without remiss;
soft words and fuchsia touches in the night
are punctuated with a crimson kiss.

The coral sun rays beaming from above
are raining down these colors of our love.

Colour Me Lilac

He gave her a Rose what else could he do
her bands so tied a one way avenue
though not Red nor White or hard to find Blue
a token to hide from kin’s retinue.

He gives her a smile to bridge hyper space
he’s let her down his prowess a disgrace
longs for Lilac eyes that match her face
oozing memories of lasting the pace.

Everything was blue in the sky at dawn
pitting his mood being one with the thorn
a stone cold kiss for love he feels sawn
in reality this his life borne.

Your Beauty Touched My Sky

When your beauty touched my sky the flowers bent my way engulfing me in a fragrance that I now know as you   The lilac and the lavender it moved around my soul bringing comfort to the romance begging to make our home   Wrap your arms around my kindness let your heart beat soft and free breathe into the sunshine in this dance of you and me

Free to Express

Imagine the sun shone in rays of red,
sparkling in saffron skies with clouds of bronze.
If it was maroon would you love the moon?
If midnight was beige would you go to bed?
An artist's mind should be free to express.
Use their canvas to show confetti bled.
Ignore those who claim stars are not lilac.
Create pink rain, as orchid puddles spread,
around silver sparrows and golden swans.
Would you love the moon if it was maroon?
Let your muse weave patterns with vibrant thread.

Beauty of You

Engaged in the beauty of you a lilac scent of splendor sent drowning my every thought in the ripples of your rush Float deep into my western sky grab hold of this fluid destiny and smother my spirit with your demure simplicity and innocence Laisse mes lèvres sur ton cœur

The Moon Shone Brightly - Potd

Lilac lavender leaves fluttered ethereally
over the smooth sea of the placid lake.
A shimmer of light shone over the calm waves,
as they rolled silently and collectively
towards the sandy shore now lit
by the rising of the amber full moon.

Wave after wave composed
a lyrical enchanting melody
played by the rising orb.

The leaves formed fragrant shapes
emulating the grandness of the scene.
In the gathering darkness two lovers
heard the alluring symphony
and felt each other entwined
in a dance of love as the moon
in a dreamy crescendo shone
brightly evermore.
Until the eclipse took place.
Then it hummed no more that night.

in lilac dreams

"I love the silent hour of night,/ For blissful dreams may then arise, Revealing to my charmed sight / What may not bless my waking eyes." from first verse of Anne Brontë's "Night" tarrying in lilac dreams I flower in full sunlight where I flirt with butterflies and gleefully kiss tulips when lilac dreams wilt away I sojourn nearby a sea caressed by its rippling tides under a lavender sky the twilight turns into night bathing me in the splendor of a full blue-white hued moon and myriad stars’ sparkle deep violet melts away I drift again into dawn wishing that I could linger ever in sweet lilac dreams

Poetry In Motion Challenge From Richard & Mary

Turbulent impervious obsidian lifeless world clouds God's compassionate
betrothed faithful prayer family.
Moonlight joy havens awestruck love elation.
Aquamarine wave spirits hot desire
beyond passion.
Lilac crescent sky petals.
Life bliss vows hope peace freedom melody.
Azure northern light winds kiss calm stars.

Old Fashioned Garden

~~

In an old fashioned garden behind a stone wall
Hollyhocks and sunflowers growing so tall
Red rambling roses drape over a fence
Old fashioned flowers with colours intense.

Lupins and larkspur in lilac display
Buddleia blooming where butterflies play
Surrounding moonflower whose petals unfold
A bright splash of starburst, marsh marigold

Herbaceous borders, rosemary and rue
Columbines and clover full damp with the dew
Scents long forgotten their perfumes endow
I loved them long ago, I love them now

These old fashioned flowers, I planted them all,
In an old fashioned garden behind a stone wall

No Proper Goodbye

There was no closure of a proper goodbye.
 I tried, but...
 no reply.

Your body became limp and cold as
 a corpse.
 We froze alone
 in different time warps.

 My ambiguous stutters
 wouldn't disappear.
 They pinched as they burrowed
 like earwigs in each ear.

 My mouth opened slowly
to suck the words back in.
 Then the dead revived
 and embraced my skin.

 My heart bloomed in profusion
 like first love's lilac.
 With lips on lips
 you took my words back.

Sweet Zephyrus - a Love Letter

Oh Zephyrus, sweet Zephyrus,
westerlies' bouquet nectarous
lilac layered flirtations sail
wings whimsical whiff my skin pale
butterfly kisses generous..

music you breathe melodious
chorus of wind-chimes feverous
sounds, symphonic in gentle flail,
oh Zephyrus..

hands breezy - touch me delicious
flowers long-stemmed dance capricious
exhales enchanting do prevail
sighs satisfying without fail
licks sweeping softly amorous,
oh Zephyrus.

Lucky To Have Her

Rhythmic creaks and gentle squeaks from the withered old wooden rocking chair fill the sweltering late summer afternoon air a peaceful breeze blows across his tepid brow the old man begins to weep as he thinks of his wife inside Drips and drops and a little splash fall down into the half-full sink a lemon scent mixed with her lilac essence warm the cozy spotless kitchen The old woman plates coffee gateau smiles and sits next to him offering a taste of her treat Rich creamy chocolate and a hint of hazelnut he savors every bite of her love He smiles and whispers how lucky he is to have her

A Small Corner of Warmth In My Winter Soul

I can do nothing,

I am not suitable for anything.

My soul is trapped in a snow.

Yet there is a small corner of warmth

in my winter soul:

there is always the lilac

and tulips are in bloom.

The river and green forest

and the road to home are there.

All this will be until then,

while my beloved is near to me.

She, of the Onyx Crown

Beauty of yours, informed by moon's illume,
Irises lilac, heaven sent thee here,
Adducing stock's spiced vanilla perfume,
My heart all consumed, I must have your ear.

Oh, creature of mourn, what love are thee?
Raven hair, for it appears, has no death,
Your words whisper of winds long lost at sea,
Darkness doth command with a single breath.

Blinded, such you have obscured every star,
I am yours, now the only eyes required,
She of the onyx crown, goddess you are,
I, your nocturnal animal... Inspired.

Do you salvate all sin within your sight?
Let us sing, and submit to Nyx's night.

The Thorn's Song Ct

I smiled when lilac tulip bloomed, I prayed for amber wings in rain. On fiery leaves with love perfumed, blue angels kissed her blushing chain. How oft fir-kissed drops fall as gems absorbing pangs of thirst from stems. My bare soul drenched in velvet chrome longs to rest in her musk-soaked home. When lilac tulip bloomed, I prayed, I smiled for amber wings in rain. With love, perfumed blue angels kissed her blushing chain on fiery leaves. Afar, yet my love sings along if only she'd hear a thorn's song. September 2, 2020 Charonnet Poetry Contest Sponsor: charles messina

By the Sea

She addressed me –then undressed me with those pretty blue eyes gripping on to her I had no choice when gravity took my hand pulling me into her endless exploration amid euphoric exhilaration lilac rows arouse in every path chose sensations titillating from head to toe as the delicate daisy grows bathed in musk she tugs and tugs the sun sets, nights collide whispers await the moon a sustenance thought unattainable satiated in a hammock by the sea

Rose-Quartz Haze

When jade Specks of desire carved a raven calamitous shape of coal-crescent, losing the last soil once
My lilac heart of rouge runes, shimmered in galaxy, lathered with embers of laced life for soul of thou
I float in rose quartz haze befogged upon starlit symphony's hymnal moondust, strolling in perfumed 'You'.
