patriotic,
We are one nation, one blood,
In times of sorrow, we calm each other,
In moments of horror, we cluddle together,
When we slip on the way, we hold each other,
When terror strikes, we defend together,
We are one nation, one blood.
We shed it for each other.
(Dedicated to my beloved Kenya in memory of Westgate attack. In times of difficult we have proved our unit and boundaryless love - God bless Kenya)

African
Violet
I see you in the wind
Subtle, beautiful
The sun captures you,
from bloom to stem
Your dark attraction is intoxicating
Various shades you are,
Blue-violet, fuschia and pink
My favorite
The wind teases your petals,
Your color is rich,
Deep
Your petals are your crown
Where did you come from?
Usam Basa mountains of Kenya or Tanzania?
What do they call you?
They call you “Blue Boy”, but I like
“Pink Beauty”
I pluck you, and touch your petals…softly
Teasing the rim ever so gently
Let me plant you in my garden
Let my water flow around you,
In you, to nurture you

anger, sad love,
I love my nation!
With all my heart I love this land
I’d die for all what it stands for
Hypocrisy and two-facedness
Inhumanity and corruption
What a sweet and wonderful song to sing?
I love my country
Kenya
I know all my fellow countrymen and countywomen
Will say the same
This nation is an oasis of damnation
Full of extortion and oppression
Ohhhh I love it with all my intuitions
What an imposition to shoulder
I love my country
Kenya
New storming and infiltration every moonlight
Deaths are common like cars
How I love my country
KENYA

break up, love,
We used to wait outside
at the girls rooming house
by the Ohio in Cincinnati
Sex does not self heal
Nor does the salamander
we trapped under the moss
We always said
We'd die together
At daybreak
We knew better
Love does not always
fill the heart
On rainy nights
It kills the heart
The noon at the clinic
shall remain our secret
The long recovery
Bittersweet
We woke this morning
To our failed romance
Your boyfriend from Somalia
He was right
Some women are exotic
Like goldfish
only less slippery
Always out of reach

"A chinchilla and a chimpanzee walked into a bar," my
grandson says, smugly, with that smile.
Where? I ask. The U.S.? England? The Neverlands?
He gives me a slow head shake ‘no’.
Kenya? The Isle of Man? Timbuktu?
South America? Guatemala? Italy?
I am being ridiculous, but as Grandma, it is my job.
I can tell that he is losing interest fast, so I stop my queries.
“It could not be anywhere, Grandma,” he tells me. “Chinchillas do not walk,
they scurry.”
I love having an eleven-year-old grandson.

gray sky slowly turning heavier than this
one by one
the birds fly they too are done
and by the dance of the greave
i take its time i take my leave.
Another day bout to make a bow.
Ha!
rain drops just now
adding to my wow
to get to my warm house
take off this blouse
and snuggle next to my spouse...
Haha!
Till tomorrow God willing
have yourself an evening that is thrilling!

lifelife,
I praise you my love
because of your sweetness
which is like honey
and sugar from Kenya,
and your kindness
that makes people to smile
like Barack Obama.
I believe you settled my heart
because am part of your life,
and without you i feel very bored
like someone who misses M J,
and his break dance.
Oh! i know there in the west
you made life simple,
and here in Africa you sale like a cake
because of your great job
to make life sweet.
hence you deserve to be the messiah
for my life.

love, boy,
It was love at the start.
Not even the distance of their countries,
could keep them apart.
Their love climbed many mountains,
and swarm the sea.
Too bring their hearts together,
like a contiguous disease.

WINDOW PEACE
Bird darts
Behind the blankets and the sheets
Crushed hearts
Tear holes in lives that once were neat
Day shines
On grieving heads too sad to lift
Refines
Life that adapts to steely gifts
Moon glows
To ease eyes on a broken place
And
I’m told
My endless peace rests in your face

love,
It rained a lot today
There was no delay
Only continued replay
Of the rain that I love without decay
It rained a lot today, like the rains falling in Kenya
Reminded me of you, loving you like falling manna
Playing in the rain, drenched in your love in all manner
Many memories of you, that leave me with no slumber
It rained a lot today, each drop with a song
Felt my womanly desires flowing along
Loving you could never go wrong
Loving you in the rain made me strong

MISS Kenya
she is one in a billion coz a million is not on her level
no word can describe her coz she puts me above the see level
i even don't know what to call her coz beautiful is her first name
in beauty she got no competation she is a couch in the game.
she don't make headlines she is the headline
when she moves she makes everything stop like she is a deadline
she is sweet when I got no stew with her wonna dine
coz every thing she got is so divine.

ROMANCE
Rarely do I find a fragrant love note at my door
Often when I read of love I want to try once more
Maybe golden dalliance is lurking round the bend
Always I am hunting for a lover and a friend
No one should be lonely-- that is what I’m told
Carelessly we treat the kind & hanker for the bold--
Excitement may be nice but I want hugging when I’m cold

Turn those words into a song

12th grade, africa, allegory,
There is this universal respect
For Kenya, before it becomes a colony
A land where rich and poor alike
Knew no divide, only unity.
You see
This is the beauty of Kenya:
Diverse in their ways of life
Yet bound by unreserved love and kindness.
Like threads woven into a vibrant fabric
Each Kenyan heart is connected to another
A powerful force driving them forward
Creating a tapestry of unity and strength.

Artisan from Kenya worked hard on my locket.
I thought I had lost it, but it was in my pocket.
Have had many compliments on this one-of-a-kind treasure.
It has gemstones of ivory, opal, and it shines beyond measure.
I doubt that I will ever meet the craftsman in this world.
But this locket is valued, the gemstones are swirled.
Artisan from Kenya, know that I love it ever so much.
I wish I could see all of your work, you have a magic touch.
