My Dearest Jennifer

MY DEAREST JENNIFER

My dearest Jennifer,
In your letter,
You said my poem was really terrific,
I say, your verses are beyond critic,
Our thoughts must meet somewhere,
Perhaps high in the air,
Or down in the deepest seas,
Or just in the spirit that gave us the keys,
To inherit poetry as a means of expression,
Of our every wise thought, passions, impressions.
With love and fond wishes
Your loving grandfather,
Panos.

June 25th 1971
I am looking forward to your prompt reply.

That Girl I Love

Many people think that love is fake,
I'd beg to differ,
I know it is real,
When you finally find the right one,
You may always be in pain,
But look when you love someone you accept the pain,
That's what I've done for you Jennifer,
I've taken the pain,
And I've given it,
But the wait for you is worth it all,
Forever and ever more

To Jennifer: Collab With Julia Ward

You are an enigma
handcuffed to the claims of stagnant love.
Why do you not respond
to baffled me?

I stare oft into your eyes...
Am offered a light-filtering screen
across a well!
Your ways are stifling me...

I am not a mind reader.
Or yet you tease a tease.
Come Jennifer,
show me your lilting dreams.

Grandma's Legacy

My grandma had a green thumb
She loved to garden, plant and grow
Didn't matter where they're from
Snatching cuttings wherever she'd go

Her pockets filled with seeds from trips to and fro
Labeling the envelops with names as she was home
Plant variety was something she would know
She also knew specific times when seeds should be sown

Her garden was her solace throughout her hardened life
She planted seeds and grew her plants anywhere she stay
Always fed her family through depression and strife
Many rows of vegetables were planted in her day

Years have passed and she is gone her love of planting seeds
Was passed on through her family who now are pulling weeds.

Maybe I'M Amazed

Maybe I'm Amazed

When I talk to you I often wonder
How you devoted your entire life
To me, I'm just a blunder
But you were Mother and wife.

Seven to feed and care for
Plus a man whom needed care
Dug deep always more
Reading,prayers forever there.

Educated and refined
Unknown by most,
Only with us you'd unwind
Kept your cards close.

Only those she raised
Know the sacrifices she gave.

Jen In My Arms

Number III of
THE JENNIFER POEMS

My Jen, my own Jen-
Thou forget the call of my heart.
You come to my desperate arms
While your perfume sends me wild.

But you forget, you forget!
Tell me if there be love be
Or there be nothing but friendship.

A thousand friends have I made,
A thousand intimacies have I outlived.
There I implore you oh Jen-
Hesitate not to consummate our hearts.

Oh there goes your heart
Ding-dong- Ding-dong
About to explode in mutual excitement
Hold it not but let it speak for my heart.

You hold it off-
You stifle it oh Jen.
There you sin. There you cheat that heart
God has created for you and I.

My Beautiful Sister Jennifer

Do you know,
The lengths I would go,
To see you smile,
And hear your laugh?

Is it possible,
We were meant to be,
Are there other sisters,
That have what we have?

Because you've been my soul provider,
A reflection of my pink,
A familiar image in the mirror,
My pen's always run out of ink.

My paper gets so full,
Of lines and lines and lines...
Words of meaning,
Trying to thank you,
For being so breathless,
and being so kind.

If

If I could have but one earthly treasure
To hold for all of time
If I could choose just one possession
That would be forever mine
A possession I would have to embrace
And watch over day by day
And keep my eyes upon it
Even in the darkest days
I would only need a moment
For I know my heart’s desire
For my choice would have to be
Something for which I would never tire
And that something that would please me
That would be fresh every new day
Is my precious Jennifer
For now and always.

Victims Rainbow

red was the color you wore
when you walked into my room
and the color flowing thru my angry heart
with thanks to you has quickly turned dark
love has many beautiful colors
I am unfortunaely stuck with only two
I will never leave you, is what I was told
but where are you now, I would really like to know
enjoying all the colors of the reainbow
now with some other poor unwitting soul
what color will you leave her with
certainly not a rainbow
what color will you see
when she turns YOU into
her next unwitting victim

Call Me Jennifer

Jennifer SANTANGELO... .
I LOVE her name! She's my doctor's
P A in a long white coat, a
handsome girl from N Y State--
Good Italian family. I love her name,
I want her name (if not her racket)
would look so great on my new
book jacket. Should I warn
her to be wary?-- that it's not
too late for her Dad to adopt,
or remarry?

An Invitation of Thoughts

An Invitation of Thoughts
Angels, dare not enter;
for our city prides on greed and hate.
Fear takes betrayal without heed,
A means to an end.

Our Soul holds more importance,
rather than our indulgences "need".
In the heart of the beast,
reigns the seed of decency.
Bankrupted sorrow, and despair
becomes tomorrow's healing nature.
Heavens peace only comes from within,
not on a faithless belief.

A brief chance to believe that in time,
our spirit will strenghten,
rekindling humanity's faith in god;
and our love for him.

The Commentary I Wish To Hear

THE COMMENTARY I WISH TO HEAR

The commentary I wish to hear
Is not John Madden’s ; the report
I am yearning for is not  CNN's or BBC's;
The narration I can not afford to miss
Is neither from Jim nor Jennifer;
But when you whisper to me on our single bed
How how much you feel when I get to the honey pot
I wish to hear and hear and hear ...

The act I wish to often see,
Truly is none from the OSCAR ;
The antics I love to roll on
Are none of David Copperfield’s;
The scene I must religiously replay
Features not Eddie Murphy;
But when you become tall and short,
When you hug and sag at ******
I wish to watch and watch and watch...

Birds

They ask me:

Where did Sarah go to?
Where did Jennifer go to?
Where did Suzie go to?
Did your coldness swallow them?

I say:
We were lovebirds;
Birds always fly out and follow different directions

Jennifer

Oneday we will encounter again.
Until then,
I felt the need to tell the world
you were a good mother and friend.
Through all of life's troubles and sorrows,
you always kept your head up
to look for a better tomorrow.
The impression you left
is fresh in my mind.
Through the message of this poem
and God's blessings,
the world will know
that you were one of a kind.
Even though Jentzen and Jaylen
are too young to understand,
the power of your love for them
can conquer any circumstance.
So i dedicate this poem to her, Jennifer.
The End...

Dirty Underwear

Stop leaving your dirty underwear everywhere
You have a cheating heart
I can see it in your eyes
Can’t you see this an’t
 meet to be
Monia
Lisa
Jennifer
All have your polo underwear hanging at there house with your initial stitch in there.
Lies
Lies
Lies
That’s all that comes out your mouth
I decide to put you on mute
Let you go
Because you are waste time
Time that I can be spending with someone else
Who really care about me
So hit road Jack
Don’t come back no more
And take your luggage and dirty underwear with you...

Stop leaving your dirty underwear everywhere

Jennifer

Jennifer is such a lovely name,
your mother gave to you at birth.
Beautiful blue eyed darling girl,
you were such a cut little squirt.

Your happiness a twinkling song,
intertwined among giggles gaff.
Chatter box full of questioning,
the world your ruling with your laugh.

Jenny is the girl children adore,
teasing them when they try to pout.
Children know she is their friend,
she loves them that is without doubt.

Her purest love that never ends,
she is giving without a fuss.
If you want to become her friend,
tenderly you protect her trust.

The Sunset

Away the stars to shine
Where the moon closes near
They glowing light begins to fade
Away away the moon and star both shout

Glory Glory Glory
Your time to set comes announced
Blore aglow and slowly
Your beautiful face begin to sleep

The tidings you bring to us in the morning
Brightens our eyes by day
The peace you bring to us in the evening
Fades our eyes in peace.

No One

He took me to a field for a picnic…so he said To share his cup of bitterness when he snapped No One heard but the wind As I cried and begged for my life No One felt but the earth As he dragged my body to the ground No One saw but the sky As he choked the life out of me No One knew I was there No One knew of my pain The wind stormed The earth trembled The sky wept Lightning struck as he ran As No One took revenge
