A Glorious Eagle

May America gather and agree
To be love-full and malice-free.
To unite as one, live one decree
From sea to shining sea:

To let brotherhood and unity
Propel new opportunity.
Arise, in new community
And crush our land’s disunity.

America come, give thanks
For the soldiers on foot; in tanks
Whose loyalty never broke ranks
From interior to outer banks.

Come young and old, altogether!
We share many a bond and tether.
As one nation, we’re strongest together
We’re one plumage but many a feather.

Independence Day

Today is the day I've been longing for
The day good things came together
The day of first steps, and shrinking growths
You could have knocked me down with a feather
A day when our dreams look like coming true
A wonderful time for me and you
A time for miracles and love without end
I'll love you forever my darling,my friend

Winterworks

Starlight explosion entertains cherubic-cheeked Moonpie, Arrayed in soothing baby blue receiving blanket pure sky, whilst the Winterworks whistles a New Year’s Eve Lullaby. A snow princess in pink, shadily winks at the blond guy. The Christmas surprise will morph into a Spring butterfly. On Independence Day, his sparkler eyes no longer shy. Catherine’s wheel cut with Cupid’s flambé arrow does intensify their elementary crush, as they learn to add, much later multiply. Fireworks on display from first sight until puckered lips bid goodbye. 12/31/2019 First Time Here - Any Monorhyme Poetry Contest Sponsor: William Kekaula

Virtue Is More Than Mansion and Great Wealth

Virtue Is More Than Mansion And Great Wealth

If ones honor and word is not intact
What the hell ever else truly remains
Whenever ones word is considered fact
There exists no deep doubts no wicked stains.
Virtue is more than mansion and great wealth
It is the light, the truth, the commandment
So goes the truth, medicine for one health
When rights are guaranteed by government
Hold love and mercy to be way of life
Family a treasure its meant to be
Far, far more happiness instead of strife
Our nation a shining beacon from seas to sea

What does real freedom really, truly mean.
Is it far more than a mirrorlike sheen.

Roll On

Lauren Hill slow songs thrill,

they pop like a fast moving pill,

I am flopped on top of a junk food bill,

and running with a skunk who tells me to take in my fill-

like leading um' on into my dream,
I create a festering lean,

I rank every thought in order of how I like it,

and prep for a long time that's gonna break all the cycles.

Striding with my shrine,

as I shock a spine,

revitalize and prime-

as I preen and primp and chimp-

as I act like a pimp,

I black out and gimp,

skimp out on my dying moment because death is no shrimp!

A Big Red Bow

Liberties subtle whisper, kicked up dust, his boots it lingers.
Glistening brow, hope pours by sweat drips, reflecting restless weathered fingers.

Foreshadowed looks a worried face, brave hearts strength, unnerved by grace,
Freedoms song his heart starts pounding, inspired backbones, by foot they race.

Our family’s values together they’ve protected, Integrities goodness they protect our land,
She too marched forward, a mothers love, by flags freedom, united we stand.

A Veteran’s life, we stand hearts open, respects gratitude to embrace we go,
A life we’ve dreamed by generations thriving, our gift wrapped freedom, in a big red bow.

Real Freedom

Start

On the eve of independence day on August 15, I dedicate this RONDEAU to the topic of 'Real Freedom'

Real freedom lies where eyes see
The world where I’d like to be
The colors of life and wear
Fits of happiness and despair
Hear the hum of the bee.

Feel the music with glee
Sound of waves in the sea
Fragrance of love dwells where
Real freedom lies.

Break the shackles, be free
Unlock emotions is the key
Treat others with care
Find fruits of love to share
In the shelter of this tree
Real freedom lies.

Krrruuurrll

It takes many types,

and rigorous flights,

simple minds and treacherous vine’s-

we lace our faces with our finds,

we trace our space’s with their intellectual minds-

but cigarettes burn and drinks overturn,

and yet we never see things the way they should skoot,
we all have opinions that we’d like to remove-

a savior once said to shut up and groove,

so I do one move at a time,

one move at a time-

forget to rewind,

forget to unwind,

because buildings take up my mind,

cities intertwine like a mathematical puzzle that only serves the blind.

The Patriot

The U.S. has a heritage
Born of might and blood.
I will not disinherit it
For wrongs some fools have done.

I will stand with hand on heart,
For those who fought for me.
I rise devoted as a part
Of a nation proud and free.

Our privilege was paid in full,
So high a cost was tendered.
Some knew crimson-dampened wool;
Others, shrapnel-shredded members.

There is no greater love or act
Than to die for the gain of others.
To leave a home, to defend a pact
Or give all for country and brothers.

So I stand with a broken salute.
I do not sit or kneel.
I weep and tremble, the pain acute
For so many died for me.

This Country That I Love

as i sit to write

right by my window

open to the night

and all its sounds

I hear outside

the cracking of fireworks

already being fired

before the celebration

of the 4th of July

our cherished Independence Day!

And I wish to cry

for it seems the importance

of the day is turned quite light

folks play with fireworks

but forget to remember why

forget the dedication to the death

of so many, their fight

to ensure that this land

beholds for all, the rights

to the pursuit of happiness.

May you have a wonderful 4th of July, remembring those who fought and died for
your rights.

True Colors

THE BLOOD HAS SHED
IT WILL NEVER BE THE SAME
FEEL THE INTRUDING LEAD

THE DRAINAGE NOT OF MY HANDS
BUT FLOWS DOWN MY BACK
IT WAS ONLY IN THE SANDS
WHERE YOU PLANNED YOUR ATTACK

EXECUTED WITHOUT FLAWS
WITH NO ISSUES AT HAND
YOU DUG DEEP WITH YOUR CLAWS
INTO A FACELESS LAND

YOUR FACE FULL OF LIES
WHEN GREET ME AT THAT PLACE
I SEE THROUGH YOUR DISGUISE
AND REJECT YOUR EMBRACE

THE WOUND YOU TRY TO HEAL
IS NOW A GAPING MAW
YOUR WORDS CAN NEVER CONCEAL
YOUR TRUE COLORS I SAW

Would It Bother You To Know?

Would it bother you to know?
That I write about you everyday
About angsty feelings that I wont let go
About things I’d never be brave enough to say
Would it bother you to know?
That I have books filled with prose
Ones that are so filled with emotions they glow.
Like a giant emotional buffet.
Would it bother you to know?
That you unknowingly toss my heart around like a football play.
And my emotions painted out are like a Vincent Van Gogh.
That you make my eyes light up like a Texas independence day.
Would it bother you to know?

Thirteen Days In Summer: Independence Day

Crimson candlelight burnt orange: Ancient ?
Blue notes in purple lines; breaking telefaxed
World news a drop of blood trickling; moist lips..
Hungry for more these factory boys as girls; props
Their silhouettes raising his white washed, cue cards
Black balloon, playing on the radio racing to her editor
New York Times live at five this first edition regurgitated....
Pages ripped from trash bins and, has been; but another day
Here at the office of slip knot ties as mini skirt lies blue made, notes
Be purple lines in suicide bombers breaking news; where we win, you lose.

Dialectical Smoke

Smoke in the morning
Chilly anticipating
Brace to speak out there

Cats are meowing
Think felines are a burden
Ticked off still feed them

Endure the sunrise
Negotiating doomsday
Fumes call me dreadful

No love stains these walls
Thoughts resist less their purpose
Dust off my ashes

Stop all this chatter
What is the matter today?
Kindness is small talk

Disown soothing speak
Dialectics why so down?
Mocking defeats nouns

Discard peace with butts
Accept noon as it will be?
Smoke talk brings no joy

Phoenix Tattoo

Your phoenix tattoo
Etched in inks, black, red and blue.
Firebird for Firebrand.
Risen, emancipated,
Unshackled from broken love.

Tough Love - No Regrets

I tried to give you all my love
But that for you was not enough

I wanted you to love me to
But I just never ever knew
Did you or didn’t you

I tried to give you all my love
I know now that was far too tough

Although it took a while for me to read the clue
I am glad there is no more me or you

Far better to live my life alone
Than spend it bowing at your throne

I tried to give you all my love
But enough was enough

My Independence Day Thoughts

My Independence Day Thoughts Miracle Man 7-4-2022 This Independence Day, finds our country fragmented, Opinionated people protest, we can’t agree on one thing. The keeper of this swamp, is a man thought demented, He thinks voters are puppets, made to dance on a string. From his teleprompter or paper, he does others bidden, I pray for his health, though we seldom agree. Many times the truth, from the voters is kept hidden, But I thank God today, for being born free. I love this country I will readily confess How long will God choose our country to bless?

A Mindless Hunch

Travelling in your dreams or dreaming in your travels
You want to be seen or you want to be hidden
Selfies are better or nature is bigger
You love the sky or you hate the land
Like a lazy night or a hyperactive bang
Partying hard or driving through the dark
Silent hood or a dog that barks
Love yourself or the playboys
Getting married or become a loner
Eating to live or living to eat?
Using your hands or thighs that spreads
Whatever it is, doesn't make any sense

No Deeper Love

” No Deeper Love”
By Terry Knight

Your love is deeper than I can imagine
Its genuine to the core
Its total satisfaction
I could ask for nothing more

It’s what everyone is looking for
But rarely comes along
Most will only hear of it
In words of a song

A hidden treasure I have found
A love that is true
God has given me a blessing
Wrapped up in you

Seven of September Brazil Independence Day

The day is gone,
we raised our arms,
painted the face,
we were exposed
we went straight invade the Bastille
 stormed, Brasilia,
tear down the Wall... !
We did nothing,
and the game was crooked
to be continued...
The peace, maligned,
love, unconjured,
but they applauded hate
and exalted...
Anarchy is the dominant
 Idea...
Most value has now
  the added value... !

A Tiny Flag

A Tiny Flag

There rests a tiny flag in my garage,
That will fly from my yard on the 4th of July.
As much as it will stand for Old Glory then,
It will be remembered more for its giver.

The tall sweet man with gentle ways,
Who with three brothers fought for his country,
Who exampled Freedom by living Freedom’s life,
The good son, brother, father and husband.

In his fantasies, he might have wandered somewhere,
But his faith, his love, made him choose to be “free.”
“Free” from the ugliness of some other men,
A man who fought for, and gave reality

To the tiny flag in my garage.

Independence Day

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tangible mica moribund interweaved, in an ocean full of tragedies....
Trying to make its break, past these bloodline riptides into the open waters ~
Beyound crimsons indelible dyes of derisions crashing tollbooth waves!?
Mockery, tattoo'd these lesions like a buoy affixed amid twilights taut
Webbed whirlpools; as martials glittering carnival cruise debris gathers aneath
This taunting starless night while, black icebergs circle thirsting great whites....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

....Martyrdom; adrift amid these serpentine seas?!

Greek Independence Day
March 25, 2019

Congratulations and OPA to the Greek
nation,
Which suffered 400 years of Turkish
domination.
And now you are free!!

Light the Saganaki, pass those very
luscious stuffed grape leaves,too.
Let's have some Mavrodafni and
Have more than a circle dance or two!

To America

When I mark my ballot
I make certain of the ink...
it is always red to me!
Each stroke, a limb –
each downward pressure
an attempt at stopping
the bleeding, a bullet
having found the torso,
but never the true heart
of a Freedom
loving patriot.

Know what goes into the
right to vote...and leave
that booth shaking with
such honor others sacrificed
their very lives to selflessly
give you....
