What They Do

Carpet layers have to be on the floor
Deep sea divers love to go down
Computer gamers can't seem to stop
Taxi drivers are all over town

A dentist will do it till it hurts
A sailor sure likes a big swell
A hunter will do it with a bang
While a gymnast will dismount well

Lawyers reach into their briefs
A trash man holds on to his nose
Painters always use longer strokes
A ballerina stands on her toes

Salesmen have learned to use their mouth
While students try to use their head
The police will go on a big bust
And a maid always cleans the bed

My Wish

Good morning to you
On this lovely day
Independence is the word
If i may say

I wish i was there
To share with you
A kiss on your cheek
And say how do you do

Take you to lunch
Spend the day
In the warm sunshine
The American way

In the evening we will fish
As hunter gatherers do
Play some music
A dance for two

Into the night
As the owls hoot
Skinny dipping
In our birthday suits

Dried and refreshed
A nightcap for two
As we lie on the bed
Just me and you

But the toll of the day
Tires us so
With your head on my chest
We fall into dreamy flow

Inside the African Pot

In her eyes i saw me,
the very inner man that vanished from this earth,
here i am laughing from the depth of my very soul,
unearthing the spirit that was covered with a pot.
tell me my love, to whom do i owe this gratitude
when the hunter now hunts with his catapult
the gun then becomes bored to shame.

the days of the hamattan ceased to flourish
the moment of endless rain is dew
when we will cover our lonely bodies with garments
that are made of sacks of gold dusts,
and lie solemnly in our huts
waiting to see tomorrows face.

tell me my pot of gold
to whom do i owe this gratitude,
that has shielded my feet with sandals,
quenched my belly with food
tell me! so i may praise aloud.

She Is Gospel

When a woman is just a woman
the world waits not for her wishes and woes
It seeks to rape the rose of her youth and ravage her assertive reason,
she must become more than mortal meat, she must rise to where hot spirit flows
accelerating the bloodletting of her zen into a hostile zeitgist, she makes endurance a weapon,
the gestation of her gestalt confronting the civil and savage alike, sharp beauty is all she knows
becoming a love hunter with no remorse, womb driven, wasting no color of season,
learning to weep over the bones of bastards, to scream through shadows,
reaping light from simple eyes, heart uncommon
Eve believes God as she grows -

~Endymion~
(Decima)

Endymion some poets say
Was a King some say a hunter
But most believe a shepherd fair
And a youth of great beauty too
Then she the moon Selene saw him
Loved him and coming down kissed him
Slept beside him, slept at her whim
He never woke, lies always so
By mountainside as it death do
She lulls to sleep as she kiss him.

Magic Garden

I love the sense of wonder
right after a rainstorm.
That fish bowl feel of a world
baptized anew.
The sun selects individual
leaves on which to shine.
The air is fresh as laundry on a
line.

Plump red robins scurry nun
like over the lawn
Resigned to the role of hunter
and being hunted
Sparrows impatient as over
ripe fruit on the vine
Jackhammer chatter from
branches densely entwined.

Rain drops form then slide
from blocked up gutters
A jack knife dive onto rain
pocked soggy ground
Departing clouds leave a hint
of a slate grey trail
As the garden unburdened
relaxes and exhales

Gulf breeze chime my chimes
What I say here pass it on
Spring fling beckoning.

Infatuation -
A cat chases its own tail
Love begins at home.

Elusive wind blows
Bliss is like falling in love
I claim nostalgia.

Wrapped kisses with rose
A lonely hunter shivers
Love last a life time.

Poetic Aspirations

Kind poets die
Bitter ones come back to life
Drunken ones have no life
Sober ones write novels not poems
Married ones write of great loves
Single ones, of love lost
Funny ones toss away their poems
...... and join the circus
My cat wrote a poem for a contest
........and Won
I am a very depressed poet
........ and lost
As the eagle soars high in the clouds
……....a great hunter of poetic verse
This poet crawls towards his desk
Another day
Another terrible poem

Wolf

I am animal
I am the wolf
your hunter and gatherer

I will hunt for you
lay my kill
at your feet

I will bite you
mark your neck
with my teeth

If the moon is full
I will howl for you

I become the wolf
for you this night
just to taste the blood
of your chocolate lips

In my wolf skin
I seek your summer brown body

I follow the trail
of your beating heart

The hunter becomes the hunted

You wrap your arms around me
Captured by your embrace
Time in relativity slows
all else fades into nothing...

In Her Eyes

The arc of her eyes
makes the rounds
of my heart
a circuit of dew
and gentleness

In halo of time
cradle the nocturnal
I do not know
if I had ever lived
because her eyes
have not always
seen me

Leaves of daylight
and moss of dew
reeds of the wind
perfumed smiles
her clever sorcery
I am spellbound

My daylight
depends on
her innocence
my whole world
in her eyes

I am a hunter
of sound
seeking fountains
of color
the sky and sea
in her eyes...

In sentient shades of silence
The heart endures from tyrants
Love lives lachrymosely long
My heart shows its prong.

The Beginning

In darkness, creation begins with love,
The radiant light that reveals her pow’rs,
And time began with its minutes and hours,
From light the hunter came, and wooed her heart,
Their love that gave us life below, above,
For such is the beauty of Nature’s art.

The Nail

The nail

One point
One arrow
One strike

Blood spurts
Blood Flies
Blood cries

Two moments
Two holding outstretched hands
Two lonely lovers in strange lands

Veins cease to flow
Veins leaking into the earth
Veins grasping at all the possibilities

Three days
Three Crosses
Three lies

Life dances over the rainbow
Death creeps up from under earth
Three times I have recited dearth

A hunter with bow across this land
Seeking to pierce the very heart of eve
The ice cold winter stops him bold

Love died, is three times too old

Funeral Rites

FUNERAL RITES

Hunter and the hunted -
It's a breach of contract
Finger , pointed at me ,accusing ,my dad .

Muse forefather , consecrated water ,
An agreement on half burnt chest ,
Primitive scribes chiselled-

Dad, you shake me in my sleep
Lifeless curses on me
Zenith of fear, I agonists
Tent a bye-pass
My love offerings to you dad .

My son breakes glass
Leap beyond circles
I weep in remorse
How I imposed solitude on you!

Brunt out ashes
Broken words-
Dad..............my Day.

Woman Dark

Naked woman, woman dark
clothed in your color
with your form of beauty
lost in this forest of love
I am the furtive hunter
through sleeping dense foliage
I seek you
as one seeks a fulgent bird...

Now on this sun baked pass
at the height of summer and noon
I ramble through the thicket
bringing back to my solitude
the most fulgent plumage
the purple plumage of your dazzle
and your beauty strikes me to the heart
like the flash of an eagle...

Acid Tears

Under the passing smile he nourished his monstrous collusion
Plunder the face, while my shattered mirror fallen in confusion
Hunter shammed in the veil of love, pursued the pleasure of delusion
Thunder struck into a litter pile, driven me to a life in seclusion
Wonder how the hostile acid, deformed my face into exclusion
Sunder my life into an isle, the immense vacuity of illusion.

The Dog, the Bear, and the Maggot

The Dog is structured,
Always working to preserve,
Familial ties.
Diligent service,
Loyal to love and country,
Strong yet still servile.

The Bear is nurtured,
A hunter in fair weather,
Useless in winter.
Promises plenty,
But bleeds his own forest dry,
Water, trees and all.

The Maggot is cankered,
A hollow soul and stomach,
Skulking forest floors.
Can only scavenge,
ON the corpses of others,
And their fellow man.

To My Nephew Hunter

Loving sighs and lullabies and kissing you goodnight

Loving you as you love me and keeping you in sight

Gum in hair and spilled milk scares

and teaching you to turn on the light

My bond with you means so much,

yet I've run out of things to write.

Your Kiss

Standing at the front door
I'm seconds away from you
I can feel my heart pounding
I can sense the excitement
My pulse quickens, anticipation
I can practically taste your kiss
I open the door, I call your name
Instantly, I inhale your scent
My body reacts, it's involuntary
Again, I breath in your scent
This time slowly, with purpose
I follow the scent, like a hunter
It leads me to you, it always does
Your kiss, excites me, drives me
Your kiss, is what I live for

Love That Is Blind

They say in his old age, Isaac was blind
yet like his father Abraham, unusually kind

Rebecca, his wife, came from a family evil and cruel
her brother Laban tried to rob Eliezer of all of his jewels ...

Isaac loved his 'hunter-son,' Esau, a chip off Laban's block
in Esau's brother Jacob, her pure son, Mother Rebecca put her stock --

Foiling Isaac's plan to give his blessing to Esau, one so cruel
~ Love that is blind must not be permitted to rule

The Cat

He's a silent hunter,
with a murderous heart,
and he doesn't care,
what he tears apart,
he is very independant,
and cunning to,
and if your his prey,
then you are through,
he has a ravinish blood lust,
that he can't contain,
and if he don't kill,
he'll go insane,
he may seem like a sweet little kitty,
but trust me people,
he is witty,
don't let those purrs,
and cuddles fool,
he has many concealed weapons,
he'll use as a tool,
he has needle sharp teeth,
and 5 dagger claws,
on each and everyone,
of his cute little paws.
