Flowers of the Heart

The garden of love bids tending
so often it pains us to render its due
when drought offers threat
and water is scarce
and lovers forget what it means to be true

Yet love, like a garden, rewards us
the flowers of the heart are worth all the pain
how else can we reap
that beautiful yield
with little to lose and with so much to gain

When I think of where we first started
with just the horizon to capture our view
my eyes now behold
what a garden can be
with effort and love to carry it through

The Lingering of Longing and Life

'Neath nocturnal bloom
the essence of self
dwindles in a pillowed horizon
twilight dies a whisper -
your voice in my ear…

the pale goddess rises
mothering angel’s tears
tending till dawn
a moon garden vigil
bearing witness to your visit

Themes Enamored

Meet me when Sky paints pink On mauve eve Embossing love With blue sapphires Lured by kiss of Romantic night And twilight amber In themes enamored Bedazzles your dream As horizon gleams Lapis lazuli

Sky breathes red sunset

                                      touches the heart in secret

                                           Your rich scarlet lips

                                         in a state of perfection

                                         on edge of the horizon

Sundown In Paradise

My blessing basket is heavy with heaven's gifts,
Tomatoes the size of my fist, eggplants so cute,
And fresh heirloom beans bursting with pride.

The sun, orange on the horizon, frames a pair of
Snowy Egrets above, wings folded in glide descent,
Angling towards their roost.

A solitary Cricket, at home in the cabbage patch,
seesaws a hypnotic greeting, then hushes
As I pass.

A Monarch Butterfly wisps past my head, enjoying
Nectar from scattered flowers. The scent of herbs,
Blossoms and love settles softly in my heart.

I know life can be hard, but this moment, just
This moment, I'm filled with such Grace from
God I only stand in humble gratitude.

Street Flower

When the orange edge of the sun rises above silver tint hues of an endless horizon I sway with silent elegance in the meadow of your heart You 'd pick up all scattered petals from dusty pages of the past. And there you find my concealed love... It is then when you recall untainted colours of the promise forgotten truths and everlasting us. It is there where you blow softly your Spring breezes in gardens of fragrant nights So that in a tomorrow, this unpretentious margarita would waft its aromatic scent once more in those amorous deep-set eyes. Slowly It falls untamed, innocent, and pure, like a child's dream in the tight-pull of your never-leaving arms.

Don'T Ever Let Me Go

The sun dips silently over the horizon painting the cloudless sky with shades of red, yellow and peach Arm in arm two figures silhouette in the distance closer and closer they stroll stepping out onto the old fishing pier the pair gaze out over the glasslike pond with the occasional ripple rolling gently Darkness comes upon them and they kiss a long and deep kiss you can hear her speak in the silence "Don't ever let me go" "Don't ever let me go"

Wind That Blew

Once I talked to the wind that blew
Ignoring me, like a free bird it flew.
If the wind ever saw me I've no clue,
Surely it didn't appear in my view.

Softly then a breeze came through,
Could it be the wind I just spoke to?
Swirling, whirling, it whispered too
Hinting of romance scripted for two.

When dawn shined on morning dew
Amber desires on horizon it drew
In golden emotions on panoramic hue--
A portrait of love that beckoned you.

Beneath the canopy of cobalt blue
Roses bloomed, smiling as you do
Cheering your arrival, lilting to woo--
Wind that blew was dream come true.

Tender Me a Kiss

Tender me a kiss
a brush of lips upon my cheek
 gentle, loving, fragile wish, sheik
to set my soul afire, soft and weak.
Whisper love and comfort, joy and peace
to right this world so that war and hate will cease.

Tender me a kiss, some long goodbye
when all I sense and feel would make me cry
but hidden safe within the confines,
 hope continues to abide.
In your hurry dispel all fears and worries compromising
tender me a kiss, anticipation waits on the horizon.

Living In the Music

The tuscan sun dips over the horizon
a river of red flows through the hills
gentle the sounds of love come alive
claiming another montalcino night

Echo the strums silhouetting my soul
soft samba beats calling me home
fragile red petals dance through the air
an illusion of light, lifts me away

Vivere attraverso la musica floating
tender touch serenades to the moon
attraction filters a sensual perception
and hearts twirl as every note's inhaled

My Magical Kite

I'd love to build a magical kite
Then find myself a steep hill,
Strap myself in, wait for a gust,
Oh just imagine the thrill.

Off I would soar, into the blue,
To mingle high with the clouds,
Free as a bird, no worries or cares,
Away from mind numbing crowds.

I'd fly high, over the briney
And glide like a lone albatross,
I'd steer towards the horizon,
Then over the ocean I'd cross.

In joyful abandon, up there in the sky
Soaring in rapturous mood,
But that I could, just for a day,
Be lost, in such blessed solitude.

Lets Dance Among the Stars

let's not speak of it again
least it festers and takes hold
leaving despair in our hearts

let's dance among the stars
and shine among moonbeams
concentrating on our friendship

let's nurture each other,
facing a fresh new horizon with optimsm and hope
join me if you dare

Carnforth

There's a spot on the horizon
In the ripple of the sun
Where railway lines and stanchions fuse
And merge, becoming one.

I was staring from the platform
When a distant dot appeared.
It grew in size and shape and form
And sounded as it neared.

I caught blurred faces turning
As they thundered by so fast
To briefly glimpse where strangers met
Each Thursday in the past.

Back then the steam and music
Lit up life's black and white.
By tugging strings when love went wrong
Rachmaninoff was right.

Sanguine Sky

Sanguine blush, outreaching its origin,
Roses bloom across the painting.
The sky extends its insubstantial limb,
Spreading its fingers- in gesture towards you.
A great fan, coral but crimson,
Shifting, yet still- tumbling across eternity.
The horizon appears, in a flash of pink rainbow,
Love, of the universe, of humanity,
Of life, appears… and evaporates; a gradual decline,
of colour; but so sudden too,
And we are left once more,
In solitude.

The Pain of Night

Caving tears in the moonlight's shadow.
I wash the pain of yesterday's wound.
A shade of happiness drifts in the darkness.
I start to breathe in a crowded room.
I run fast, 'til I reach the horizon.
Eyes glare at me, I have nowhere to go.
I screw up all the pain this heart kept.
I'm giving up, I'm tired to blend.
Kneeling down, I summon love.
I searched for love myself, and I failed.
I am broken, impaired, can barely bend.
Bring me to life, where love exists.
Lay down my soul barely naked.
Grasp the thinnest air, I'm suffocating.
Sooner or later the pain will be gone.
The night will soon meet the sunshine.

With You In Autumn Evening

The sweet songs of birds, We hand in hand across the lawn, Pansies white yellow and violet Tossing their heads in the breeze. Somewhere the sound of falling leaves. The sound of squirrel cracking the walnut. Calm weather warm sun, White fluffy clouds forming different shapes, A passenger flight in the blue sky, Sun born in the horizon and about to fade in the horizon, Both our heartbeats echo inside of chest, Shutting and opening of our lips, Your unkempt hair flying backwards, Yellowish west sky. Heart shaped fig leaf's shadow. If I could stop this world from spinning, I would do so, Just to be with you In this autumn evening.

A Distant Sadness

Walking upon the ground singing
frozen solid crisply cracking ice reality
each step inside a crunching golden morning
Alone looking towards the rising sun
cold wind cutting chill to the bone
clouds shade pink to grey
Winds blowing cold breathing whispers
whistling in chilling howls echoes deeply
Staring faraway over snow capped mountains

Distant horizon of dreams
love your the light of hope
drums forever in your grace will beat
A daunting year for to come
tears fall looking at my brother's grave
not knowing what the future holds

Broken Horses

We long for relationships
that know no borders,
in which hearts can roam free,
frolicking with each other,
and galloping at will
through fields and streams
in broad daylight,
and spontaneous affections
can nuzzle unrestrained.

Yet on our humble ranch,
it is the broken horses
that we so often ride.
Connections become curtailed
that once headed for the horizon,
by trial and error taught
to shield certain wounds
and mind necessary fences,
in many a peculiar pasture.

Captured Moment Haloed

When the golden sun sets over a horizon
Mirrors inside glittering with reflections

Sparkling Underneath the realm of possibilities
Far away drifting oasis upon a cloud called nine

Where heaven holds the creation’s seat
Kneeling before lashes fold

Enthroned by your light breathing through clouds
Beneath adoring rays crowned by the Aura of beauty

Loving Pearl Softly Singing Through the Ink

An artist paints a picture out of darkness
from the seven colours of sunshine's sparkle

Divine beauties bridge over this promise made real
ocean waves unfolding white steeds galloping to shore

Kissed by the sand salted footprints remain begging
as the stream flows down a mountain faced horizon

Echos bounce within deep caves whispering winds lament
currents move tides caressing the sea fragrance

Elemental Love

Blue evening dress
Topographical cleavage
Nurturing mother

Father Sky reigns high
Soft touch on her horizon

Her head covered with
A wintery Arctic scarf
With white pumps to match

He caresses her
His radiant passion flames
Heating up her womb

Encompassing her with love
Warm and cold climatic touch

His breath cools her skin
Tenderly moistening earth
Life springs from within

The Crosses In Your Eyes

Wretched Stakes

I find in your eyes a mysterious universe
fraught with the searing scent of betrayal
and warped reflections of my reality
swirling in shadows of welling, yet un-shed tears.

Rummaging the tortured abyss for a glint of familiarity,
grasping to anchor myself in the alien terrain,
I'm awestruck by the requisite strength; your strength...
to survive among the crosses in your eyes.

Over the horizon a faint glimmer defies the gloom.
A hopeful star, fading but stalwart,
screams for love as it grapples the swallowing deep.
At last, I fathom the wretched stakes.

Finding Love

How can I convince you that I love you?
Shall I climb the highest freezing hillside?
Shout that I love you as my voice echoes?
Feel my love burning with desire inside?

Shall I search for you across the wide world?
Perhaps I'll walk along the horizon.
I do not know exactly where you are.
Find you at sunset or at sun rising?

I would rather meander along paths,
Where wild nature is at its finest best.
Am I dreaming, or do I see you there
Under the willow tree? Now I can rest.

I amble towards you and ask for love,
I'll be faithful, a promise from above.
She smiled coyly, asked me to sit near her.
