Natures Gift

It's how the stars are lit at night
and how the dew drops glisten
How evening shadows mock the light
and it's how the silence listens

From the gentle sway of trees
     that bid such fond adieu
     Songs in a summer breeze
a voice so clear, so true

     The glory of such symmetry
so more than fills the eye
To the beauty of such poetry
     this hopeful heart draws nigh

In natural peace all love is born
To live and thrive each blessed morn

Lighthouse On the Shore

There is a lady all dressed in light, who stands above the jagged shore at night. To guide the sailing ships to safer seas and beg the wicked storms for calmer breeze. She ever shines her light across the bay, in hopeful search for love that sailed away. He left the land with plans to bring back gold, to ask her hand to wed, the story's told. When his ship met with tempest gales, the waves ripped the hull, wind stripped the sails. The lady waits at night for him on shore, as he still lays with gold on ocean floor. Sometimes you see her lonely light afar, it shines in the sky like a distant star. 12/16/18

You Are My All

When on life’s seas I’m tempest tossed,
And my hopeful smile is all but lost,
When I need to survive at any cost,
You are my anchor.

My life is filled with simple pleasures,
My loved ones’ smiles I count as treasures,
When kisses are how life is measured,
You are the standard.

As time soars on and birthdays fly,
My hair is graying, I don’t care why,
My mind is sharp, but not my eyes,
You are my youth.

Love is patient, love is kind,
And to the lucky, love is blind,
But when it comes to love that binds,
You are my love.

Hoping For Love and Trust

Fretting
Over his lies
Trust not

Trusting
Never again
Now wise

Wisdom
Comes with life
I learned

Learning
To share my heart
Cautious

Caution
on longest days
yields peace

Peaceful
Flowing waters
Bring hope

Hopeful
Fretting no more
Heart's strong

Strength builds
Tower of faith
Rising

Sunrise
Brightens dark days
Light shines

Shining
My stride returns
With love

Loving
Not enabling
Trust earned

Sunglass Envy

Siphoned light gropes passengers
Hopeful for luminescent hearts,
Arching underneath bombazine drapes
Dusted with passionate legacies
Of original sin and the primogeniture son,
Wicked for nighttime plots savouring
Spicy love, exponential in a vivid darkness.

To Stone The Sparrow

Why stone the sparrow as she sings
To silence her with broken wings
The gentle creature knows no hate
So cast no stones, it’s not too late

Though feathered of a different score
Her song desires just to soar
To live and let love bears no cost
And nothing to avail is lost

Why stone the sparrow as she flies
                 So sad whenever something dies
Created by a love divine
As life is meant to thrive and shine

There must a place be, to remain
Where all can sing in sweet refrain
So sing, oh sparrow, never cease
To sing your hopeful song of peace

Finding Joy This Season

To find the greatest joy,
give selflessly.
Share your gifts, your time, your love -
be the smile others long to see!

To find your heart’s content,
show gratitude.
Open your eyes and give thanks for life -
walk with a hopeful attitude!

To find desired love,
Love others with God’s eyes.
Search beyond the surface seen –
you may be quite surprised!

To find your Christmas spirit,
return to innocence.
Slow down, have fun, believe again –
remember the Lord’s presence!

O Mine Valentine

O MINE VALENTINE

We are a twine of
lines...vines
limbs
hair
fingers
sheets
blankets
couches

streets
signs
misgivings
mistakes
retreats
agressions

2 chairs
2 drinks
a fire
an oven
a burner
a melted finish
and a perpetually unmelted finish

longings
clutchings
graspings
open doors
unopened doors
closed doors
slammed doors
cracked open doors
wide open doors

tears
cries
beggings
wishings
promisings

spinning wheels
rising roads
falling rain
calls
texts
silence
long extended open unbracketed Silence
dark thick silence
light bright silence
hopeful silence
cresting like a star being born silence
....we begin again

The Crosses In Your Eyes

Wretched Stakes

I find in your eyes a mysterious universe
fraught with the searing scent of betrayal
and warped reflections of my reality
swirling in shadows of welling, yet un-shed tears.

Rummaging the tortured abyss for a glint of familiarity,
grasping to anchor myself in the alien terrain,
I'm awestruck by the requisite strength; your strength...
to survive among the crosses in your eyes.

Over the horizon a faint glimmer defies the gloom.
A hopeful star, fading but stalwart,
screams for love as it grapples the swallowing deep.
At last, I fathom the wretched stakes.

Rose Oracle

I picked up a Rose an emblem of love
Hopeful heart and a rolling tear
He loves me and he loves me not
One petal at a time with a soft whisper

Each petal of rose a scintilla of hope
With each pluck rising and sinking
Last petal of Rose said loves me not
Eyes made way for bursting tears

Letting go is not an easy mission
Hope searched and found another Rose
He loves me not and he loves me true
Whispering again I found my self

A Beauty Held Inside Eyes

Avast a beauty held inside.
In fragile hands and soft lingering eyes.
a supple smile burning as if a star
for one who gazes through lenses.
A galaxy of colors swirling and throbbing
with electrical pulses beating blood
through a maze of veins.
Travel through hedges of high and low
and run in circles before you know
you are lost, lost within a heart.
Secretive and full.
Hopeful and despair filled.
A contradiction of rigid gentleness.
A beauty lost within closed eyes.

Solitude

A warm day, a cool breeze,
An autumn forest, a perfect freeze.

A flying choir, a band of nature,
No one present, a pretty picture.

A graceful doe, a curious fawn,
A shallow mirror, a magestic swan.

A quiet peace, a golden sun,
In hopeful silence, I wait for you to come.

In My Heart Your Song Is Ever Singing - Valentine's Collection

(Valentine's Collection)

2.

Within my heart, you lie in sweet repose,
your gentle breathing tells me that you dream,
my Valentine, in dream you are my rose.

In blissful dreams, you are ever the theme,
that lights my heart with hopeful happiness,
as we do walk within the stars that gleam.

In peaceful thoughts together we progress,
our passion burns as fire across the sky,
love's desire we shall now come to express.

Now luna's comfort we share as we fly,
through God's timeless sea we both are winging
deep in our exultation, we do cry.

To love's temple all our love we're bringing,
in my heart, your love is ever singing.

Hidden Hearts

Hidden hearts

A tragic end
They meet as friends
With love that cannot be
You, duty bound
I dare not say
Just what you mean to me
These souls do yearn
These hearts do ache
With love no one can see
For quiet hearts
They hide away
This pain and treachery
So on lives love
In a quiet tomb
It waits with hopeful glee
To hear you say
I'm free my love
Come away with me
So till that day
I'll wait my love
On yon balcony

The Gingerbread Man

We lay side by side in the summer grass,
I reached for the gingerbread man kit
And lifted out a slightly crumbled biscuit,

Taking the tube, I iced a shaky smile onto its face,
Added big, hopeful chocolate drop eyes
And wrote 'I love you' down its front,

Then I handed it to her and said,
"This is me, take care of her,"
And she grinned and bit off its head.

Stars

He’s beautiful.
Laying across from me,
Eyes a confused green.

I know his skin is soft
Because in one moment,
He placed a coin in my palm,
And I had the
Overwhelming desire
To run my fingers
Through his hair and

I know
I can’t help myself
My hopeless romantic
Tendencies have
Taken ahold of me.

And him, he’s just
Simplistically hopeful
And so am I.
I can see the good in him
And he sees the good in me.

And I think,
I don't know but I want to
I think
Hidden in the dark,
We could outshine the
Stars.

Upon a Gentle Breeze

As seeds spread new life,
to the corners of the world,
out there somewhere,
he is praying for that special
girl.
A season is not forever,
it lasts for only a while,
now dry those misty eyes,
and put on that hopeful smile.
Between the pages of a love that
has passed,
a faint little ember,
will bring a love,
that will last.
Hearts can't be made,
to go against their will,
when one tries,
then comes a barren chill.
Patience is a virtue,
such a difficult task,
and you are it's keeper,
if love is to last.
Open new windows,
let the seeds come to you,
upon a gentle breeze,
comes a love,
that will be true....

Before I Fall

Most mornings are mundane a routine struggle to present a pumped up state of affairs to an already exasperated air [but this time it's different] soft breezes blow across my pillow brushing smiles upon my skin my eyes have been awakened as comfort keeps crawling in sun kisses dangle off my prism and for once I can finally breathe hopeful happens upon reason drifting in every gaze you see don't change past imperfections splashed about your walls life's too short for wasting just catch me before I fall

''What Thou Art To Me'' Revisited

What thou art to me may I gladly
shout and proclaim to thee most well?
Thou art to me a high-born lady
of style whereof I'd love to tell,
a princess that's sage and lovely—
whose mind is like a pleasant dell.

Thou art to me a raven-haired
of graciousness that's never seen.
Thou art the friend that boldly dared
to be the one and hopeful Queen,
a source of ruth who cried and shared
her tears through eyes of limpid green.

Thou art to me a fresh new start,
a renaissance of hope that's true:—
God's gift of grace to my sinful heart
and to my shame that I so rue;
thou art thus the most blessèd part
of faith and joy that now ensue.

A Morning Smile, Just For Me

Morning me, I am special
In case I didn't know, I have worth
I am beautiful, I am a pot of gold
When I take a stride, I walk with pride
When I want to cry, I shall not hide
I will not let emotions or feelings make me feel
As though it's my time to die
I am Extraordinary
Let me tell you why, I have Love at my side
There is no need for me to lose hope, give up and cry
I have 'JESUS' by my side
I am Awesome, let me tell you why,
Even though you cannot see my glow
I know that ' Jesus' wont let me go
He is planning to make me the star of the show
I am hopeful
Let me show you why,
'Jesus' is standing by my side
He's the reason why, I can Smile.

Silence

It was neither empty nor hollow
Why was it named thus I never knew

Enchanting midnights
Hopeful dreams
Unspoken solace
Hushed screams
Haunting fears
Lost places
Unremoved scars
Undefeated battles
Nostalgic innocence
Regained spirit
Undying faith
Lonely victories
Joyous defeats
Whispered lullabies
Cocooned love

Saw everything
Remained with everyone
Who named it silence?

Empty

A life moves on
The empty space
A vacancy
The smile missed face

The heartfelt ache
The hopeful joy
Of knowing birds
Must wings deploy

The silent cloak
Of no-one there
Is draped on shoulders
Poised to bear

A voice, a note
Would lift the heart
Small gesture to
The soul impart

Some comfort
In the knowing that
The gloss of memory
Not turned to matte

For vibrant is
The emptiness
Highlighting your
Full presence, yes

And more
Despite the heartache burn
It waits with Love
For your return

Of Reeds and Flowered Dreams

For some of us, the dream of love
is tender as a seed
which, sown in fertile hopeful minds,
grows common as a reed.

A stalwart grass, with no rare scent;
no fancy blooms to see;
no passion’s rose, it merely stands
with nothing grand to be.

It shelters me, this simple reed
that slightly bends in breeze.
But winds of lust I do not feel,
to bring me to my knees.

And taste of bliss I do not know;
I dream the fantasy,
for fertile minds can still create
a rose through poetry.

The Sun Loves the Moon

Once upon a time on a dreary day in May
The Sun was slowly drying a wet evening sky
And as the last clouds fizzled and ebbed all away

His twilight colors were able to blaze, then intensify
The Sun saw the beauty Moon rising like his golden sigh
For a few precious moments he felt enraptured in sweet bliss
Then vowed to woo this maiden, so sent her a fiery kiss

But Moon was quite content on her side of the aqua-blue sphere
While to this day, Sun circles the globe always hopeful not to ever miss
His true love’s full arrival, like in his dreams, she will appear

Valley

We enter the valley
Of shadows
Of thorns
A narrow path
Well worn

Where friends
Have travelled
Tattered, torn
No sunlight
Before new dawn

We said
Goodbye
Our souls forlorn
Yet hopeful joy
To be reborn
