Poetic Personification

Honey vapour scents travelled among seduced tepid zephyrs. This was not a dream for I was within the realms of reality, as fate's footsteps led my heart back to forgotten pastures. Her persona was poetic personification, yet I was lost for words, so in simple silence, souls serenaded suppressed symphonies. The idyllic radiance of her eyes became a timeless memory, the warmth of our first kiss an eternal celestial connection.

Butterflies

They flutter and hover
And float on the breeze.
They shiver and shimmer
And weaken the knees.
Fickle and fragile,
They tickle and tease.
Fleeting and flimsy,
Deceptively free.

These frivolous creatures,
These knots of desire.
Once spindles of yearning,
Now spools of barbed wire.
Once pulling like petals,
Now pricking like briar.
Once soothing like honey,
Now burning like fire.

Violently thrashing,
It struggles to rise.
The truth comes up gasping
From whirlpools of lies.
Shed this charade
And discard your disguise.
I know you enjoy
Drowning blind butterflies.

Sunflower Serenade

I’m singing honey-
rinsed sunflower serenades
twirling with corn rays…
and I’ll waltz through every fall…
to embrace his saffron warmth

I Met Her On a Tuesday

Hints of lilac filtered through the garden
a pretty butterfly just sat at rest
me lost in amazement
soft rays of sunshine clinging to my chest

The stone bench held my attention
as love notes floated through the air
my heart was in a flutter
sensing she was near

Her eyes were sweet as honey
her skin had that special glow
her lips so moist they begged for me
to memorize the passion that they showed

I met her on a Tuesday
that's when the world for me would shift
the stars shot past the heavens
as our souls would forever drift

Held Upon a Moonbeam Sighs

Visions of a way forward
raising the curtains dream magic
stepping into the spotlight view
captivating under a harvest moon

Rocked in the cradle of thoughts
your the flower sweetly awakening
deeply flames warmly embrace sunshine beams
growing beautiful rose petals tenderly touch deeply

When I trace your heart's echo
kissing this soul softly within dewdrops
weeping starlight tears of a breathless sigh
where the sunbeams dance with brilliance

Golden inside your rays honey
deliciously lights up priceless perfect
holding the breath for a moment love
our time shining purely unique sharing

My Song To You

Come to the meadow just you only,
Where autumn weaves her spell;
On hills and purple moorlands lonely,
Where the magic of her presence dwells.

Beneath blue sky and fields of heather,
With soft humming of honey bees.
And I'll hold you, just us two together,
To share the scent of autumns leaves.

We’ve time to share asters in the meadow,
With all that we love best;
With the swallows wings and your shadow,
And summer's grass that built the nest.

To hold and hear the soft wind singing,
To see your hair tossed and blown;
And meet the bluebird softly winging,
Through heaven and earth, we too fly alone.

It's Quiet Now

It is quiet now
-the sun moves up the ridge

Honey crisp scent of freedom
 -hovers and engulfs the air

Pangs of pleasure peal
 -the primrose bows her head

Yellow paints the morning
 -the fields are all aglow

Bittersweet Memories

Those memories of her, now bittersweet
Recalling tender moments that we shared
Young lovers' dreams which time can not defeat
Is proof down deep inside how much I cared

My pining heart still yearns for yesterday
To taste those honey kisses once again
Her dark brown eyes that always seemed to say
The love she had for me would never end

But that is where my recollection fades
As fate stepped in and steered her love away
The passing years created such a haze
What caused our love to die has now decayed

I wonder if she ever thinks of me
With fondness, like my treasured memories

Living In Your Dream

Floating across rivers, valleys, and streams I'm thinking of living inside of your dreams Run barefoot through nature, you chasing me End up tripping and falling in love by the sea We're two eagles that fly, soaring high in the sky Let the wind take our bodies, as life passes on by You're a delicate flower, I'm a young honey bee Sucking your nectar and starting a new family tree Sliding down rainbows after a warm springtime mist Laughter and giggles when on your cheek I plant my kiss Your dream will not end having me inside you Our days will get brighter and our night times will too

A Foodie's Love Sonnet

Bowled over, kneading you, feeling sub-lime
from my head tomatoes. Hear my heart beet!
Eggcited, wonton you olive the thyme.
Donut you carrot all for me at yeast?

You’re one in a melon, sweet sugar pie,
forbidden fruit I find so appeeling.
Cherry on the cake, apple of my eye.
Has there bean love? Don’t berry the feeling.

It’s a big dill and takes two to mango.
I’d sacri-rice all because you compleat me.
You oat to love me. Peas, love miso!
Just food for thought. Chew that fat with your tea.

I have so mushroom in my heart for you.
A pizza your heart? Say yes, honey - DEW!

Sweet Citrus

I kissed July's hot tangerine lips
swam in cool aquamarine eyes
basked in blond and honey rays
dreamed in mango pomegranate sunsets
of lime hillsides and marmalade roses
Years of sweet citrus passed in golden hours

One day I woke
to find translucent eyes
in burnt sienna
as trees wept leaves
in burgundy and olive
Soon the eyes
were frozen in powder
Ashen shadows blew
across barren groves
of spindled spruce
and howled
with December's lonely moon
But from my fire lit window
I hold fast to memories
of daffodils and oranges
mingled with the burn
of lemon tears

Fifty Shades of Red

She indulges in sensorial delights
Marked with the color of ecstasy
The passion she drinks is diluted with eroticism
The moon melts with her gentle gaze
Honey drips from her luscious lips
Like ruby flames sweeping desert dust away
Oasis of churning lava explodes within her fiery spirit
seducing the sun with her golden skin
Far away from Love's imprisonment
She builds her castle of desires

Just Come Closer

Come closer, just a little closer
break down the barriers and rise
over the blindness where one can see
your bits of beauty silently eluding me

Shade the penciled lines highlighting hues
of black and white with rainbow eyes
a kaleidoscope decorating nature's view
savoring every ounce of innocence true

Let your petals float in an essence of trust
leave lasting wafts of honey upon my lips
linger awhile letting our wanton ways exist
just come closer and I'll take the hurt away

Just a Bit of Dust

Recently learned the word malaprop, didn't want to dally on this something silly, cheers dilly

The dust flew off the top of the sealant fan
Frantically I started to clean my barns out
I swept it quickly up in my little dust pan
Worked up quite a thirst, without a drought

I spot checked with a test of the right glove
Everything finally seeming so slick and span
Until in the room walked the life of my love
And he turned on that damned dusty fan

I screamed and yelled from the tip of my lung
And passed a list of chores called honey poo
Is that what it's called? it's on the top of my tongue
Swept up all the dust again, that's what my honey do

Darkness Held At Bay

First rays splash lines of love
across naked bits of detour

dawn's door distracts
chills of the night dissipate
and I am free

Free of fight
held hostage ever tight

First rays flash and I see :

yellow bits of honey dripped
scarlet tanager at play
horizons filling out the day

Darkness held at bay__

A Pied Piper For Me

His line and verse flow like honey
Lovely, smooth, bright and sunny
A pied piper for me

He speaks of love in phrases pure
His words take wing, on airborne tour
Soaring high and free

Yet he himself is down to earth
Epitome of cheer and mirth
A humble soul is he

Always has an encouraging word
'Good friend' the honor on him conferred
The one-and-only Chris Green

Sweet Haunting

He can’t forget her face and how that night
she said, “I love you” going out the door.
Her fragrance lingered when she’d left his sight.
It was Chantilly, that sweet scent she wore.

She crashed her car and died, and now each day
he thinks of how he’d once asked what he’d do
without her. He had said, “There’s just no way
that I could go on, Honey, without you.”

She’d touched his cheek and whispered, “Don’t you know
I’d never leave you? That’s a promise, Dear.
If even death should take me, I would show
you somehow, my beloved, that I were near.”

He “feels” her even now inside their room.
She visits him with scent of her perfume.

Butterfly

Believer of starlight,
Blooming love in twilight
Bestows soft latte skies,
Blissful faith of peach dyes
Bronze balm in sun's flutter,
Bright glow of honey in
Butterfly's mauve kismet.

Bunny

He’s a sad Bunny
With floppy ears
Sadly button eyes
they can’t shed tears

Bottom of the pile
New toys on top
He needed Beth’s help
To hippity hop

With imagination
she brought Bunny joy
He was her best friend
More than just a toy

Many years now passed
Beth searches for Bunny
A gift for her baby
who names Bunny Honey

Bunny’s happy again
That fuzzy lovely feel
Hippity hop heaven
Love makes Bunny real

Bunny’s round tail
has long been gone
But Bunny still sings
lovely bunny songs

She cuddles him close
Pets worn floppy ears
Bright Bunny button eyes
with no need of tears.

Come to my boudoir Cheri
I am here all for thee
In red and lace
I shall entangle you will love
Entice you with lust
Tease you till desires run dry
You shall be the knight who rides my thigh
In the bonny highlands we shall have our romp
Meadows and fields of summer scent and breeze
I shall wrap you in my honey warmth
Mine, all mine you will be
Wrapped, entwined around my wee finger
Enslaved with love
My love
You belong all to me

Love Trigger Woman

There is a bloom of October
born of autumn's mauve harvest sweat,
her roots reach into the reason of passion
her skin smells of love's honest heat
and her wings whip the crave alive in crimson wind,
she is a sphinx of intellectual seduction and the lioness of Libra law,
from the echo of her elan laughter
summer's lean leaves which long for honey fire
rustle with rebel hue,
the rue of her rouge tears will woo you
with memories of spring's sprite and winter's ruthless wrestle
and in the desserts of her melodies your soul will succumb -

A Rainbow of Wishes

With the innocence of youth, you protect my heart from harm. And restore my faith in truth with intoxicating charm. You arouse my heart in ways that inspire passion to start. And fan flames into a blaze deep within my burning heart. Your sweet honey-dipped kisses taste like sugar on my lips. And a rainbow of wishes harbors fantasy dream ships. Happiness, guided by love, found its way back to my heart. And lifted me high above the doubts tearing it apart. Knowing; you'll always be there, comforts both body and soul. And the closeness that we share makes me feel wanted; and whole.

My Garden and the Spring

It is spring in my garden
roses are blooming
cuckoos are crying
The winter has been passed
summer is coming
It is so easy to write a poem in the spring
when the river flows gently to the sea
when the sakura shines
in the moonlit night.
Honey-bee dances in my garden
because it is spring
Flowers spreading sweet smell
in the cloudless blue sky
Could you imagine a garden
in the moonlit night of a spring
It can make a poem of love
It can open all the windows of your mind
