Love At First Sight

I caught a butterfly a week ago.
Her wings had painted eyes of indigo,
Surrounded by a ring as white as snow.
So pretty I just had to let her know.
She flapped her wings and put on quite a show,
Then kissed my cheek before I let her go.
I sure was glad I stopped to say hello.

- Let Go -

A glowing sunset
My summer dreams,
reached the point of parting tears
With silent song from heart
A sigh, let go of all the feeling
In the breeze:
A goodbye ... and one hello

Autumn is coming quietly
A sense of melancholy
The light is different
and the air sharper

Melody's cradle
Heaven clear light blue like an Aquamarine
The goddess of love
A starry sky full of divine power
Life is so valuable ...
must each day be blessed

Saying Goodbye To Autumn

It seems we said hello, just yesterday
Do you recall the night you came to town?
You blew in silently, I hoped you'd stay
Time really flies when old friends come around

When you leave here, I guess you'll be southbound
I love the pretty blanket left for me
Those yellows mix so well with red and brown
It will make such a treasured memory

Yet when you've gone, how diff'rent things will be
So cold and bare, your warmth will disappear
It happens ev'ry year so let's agree
We'll plan a longer visit for next year

Sweet autumn it is time to say goodbye
I wish you'd come next year about July

Hello Sorrow, Hello Grief With Tim Smith

Tim's poem, Hello Sorrow, was the incentive for my continuance of the sorrowful emotion in Hello Grief.

Hello Sorrow

There you are old friend—
I knew that you were here
  wrapped alone beside desolation
   hidden deep amongst despair

Hello my sorrow there you lie—
 in the wallow of disdain
  shun me forth in misery
   regret infused past pain

          ~ ~ ~

Hello Grief

Here you are once again
  I knew you would return
as a shadow of my sorrow
when for her arms I yearn

Hello grief, my haunting friend
 ghostly memory of my heartache
  how long will you remain
for a love I must forsake

My Love Is Real

A pre-lit Christmas tree sparkles the entrance Monet, Van Gough, and Wassily Kandinsky prints adorn the walls of her sitting room a dozen painted roses sit in a faux crystal vase and the smell of apple pie lingers in the air coming from her Scentsy candle warmer resting upon her replica baby grand piano The seconds tick loudly from the tree house looking cuckoo clock as I wait patiently I wait down the stairs she comes waltzing ever so gracefully ever so elegant in her bright flowing yellow dress accented by beautiful costume jewelry my heart skips a beat as we kiss hello and I know yes I know This love is real

If a Goodbye Echoes

If a goodbye echoes when you say hello
And tears concealed admonish your smile
As life abandons you without hinting why,
Did you miss the sound of her silent cries?

If you need to ask how long does love last
You haven't heard the moan of her heart
Where quietly she hides grief of her wants
And quelling her passion, embraces doubts.

Her sadden vibes don't well-up your eyes
And the sound of her hurt just passes you by
As contemptuous voice ridicules her plight,

What it wouldn't say, you certainly have.

Go With the Flow

Dear sweet lover I'm yours to the end More than a lover An life long friend Morns when I wake To your cheery hello All's well with the world I feel all aglow Why am I blessed With a love so immense Love without boundaries A feeling so intense The cynics will scoff Say I'm living a dream It's not real life My feelings too extreme I say to these doubters Trust in your heart It's given life a meaning Right from the start It's really quite simple Just trust in your soul Let passions guide you And go with the flow!

Change

Stopping by with a sweet hello to all

Mentally, I'm not over my issues
However, I am Physically well

I do miss everyone, even the new poets.
Hopefully, my friends know, I miss them
I am sorry to say, these 6 months have been the worst experience ever
Even I endure heartbreak and pain.
One step at a time,
I'm experiencing a big change (a good one)

Hello, and Hi, sending a small smile to all......

Linda-Marie, My Sweet Family

Forever my BFF

Your heart
Your smiles
You cared, when others wouldn't

You are one of a kind,
No one here will ever come close, to the beauty from your heart
Linda my bff, I miss you, and I wish you were here
You made this place a better place
You made this place shine

One day my friend, I will see you and again,
In a place, where you are the Angel
Welcoming me' for a second time,
Holding the door to another home, as you did here on the soup.

I love you my BFF Linda-Marie.

Toon Time

If I could be a cartoon character
Which one would I be
I thought about being Fred Flinstone
But he's too old-fashioned for me

And then there's maybe George Jetson
A man who knew electronics
Nothing like Yosemite Sam
Who needed to be hooked on phonics

And what about Shaggy and Scooby
You gotta love those scooby snacks
I've never really considered a Smurf
And their tiny little mushroom shacks

Or maybe I'd become a super hero
Who comes to save the day
Batman , Green Hornet or Underdog
Who puts the bad guys away

Maybe I'd live in Jellystone Park
Where Yogi is the king
For Hello Mr Ranger Sir
Is just the funniest thing

First Look At My Love

I saw you today with a lovely brightened smile
I felt you today in the morning for a while
My heart pounds, My heart sings
That your beauty has no endings

I heard you today of voice sweetened and mellow
I felt you today but couldn't even say a 'hello'
My ear drums roll with my heart on the whole
That you're my everything

I touched you today on your lips for a while
I missed you today every inch of the mile
My heart aches, My heart makes
That you're my lovey dovey

Waiting For Any Woman

Be patient
be very very patient
after that
add more patience
then wait
and wait
and wait and wait and wait
become a waiter
at least you will be paid to wait

When she finally finally arrives
give her the biggest smile you possibly possess
tell her, "Hello love, you are early and
looking very majestically beautiful my sweet!
what have you done to your hair love?"
since you have waited a century or two or three
it's a safe gamble she has, and you my friend
will be a big winner.

Therefore when you wait and wait and wait
be a winner
even skeletons
smile

His True Love Rose

Across the rink that winter evening stood,
against a wall, a rose, in freezing cold.
So striking in her pose, beneath her hood
two cheeks had stolen glow from sunshine’s gold.

Upon this diamond bloom he cast his eyes;
released his hockey stick and ran to greet
his shining rose, by far his sweetest prize
and comfort in the times of his defeat.

And as he came to her, she did not stir
until the crunch of feet on snow she heard.
She limped on damaged legs toward him, a blur
she viewed through lenses thick. . . “Hello,” she slurred.

No limits hold true love. He took his gem,
and held in warm embrace that flower’s stem.

My Truckdriver

Driving at night, with the window down
Air in my hair, hands on the wheel
Him driving by me, there to reveal
His face clearly visible in the middle of town

Passing by him, I was startled and yearning
Wishing for the chance to say hello to him
He was my uncle and I felt it all on a whim
Even though I hoped, his head wasn’t turning

How could I be seeing him tonight,
Without a doubt his image in the window
Reminding me why I was stuck in limbo
Him the truckdriver – mostly out of sight.

He had given me so much of his heart
Pieces I still carried and pulled out often
Yet I had seen him there, lying inside a coffin
Tonight, I was haunted by the love he did impart

Speechless Wonder

You never say hello
Your just a speechless wonder
You called me your wild rose
But I'm just the thorn in your side
An empty silent love
Finally falling through the ordinary day
now we never talk anymore
And we're slowly fading away

You never said goodbye
Beloved speechless wonder
Just a shadow of you walking
And getting smaller under street lights
Old memories echo through me
Finally whispering in ordinary ways
But we never talk anymore
And you've slowly faded away

'be a Rainbow'

Dreary days are forecast when rain are pelting down grey skies as far as you can see just like that, a a rainbow appears, without warning your spirit feels lifted guess there is something to smile about life has its moments where little seem to make sense and all you are capable of are tears just like a rainbow “a hello”, or “a how are you doing?” can be life altering In our busy lives; we rarely say “I’ve been thinking about you” who knows maybe someone is in need of a rainbow While navigating through the private storms in their lives...

Tacit Love

Tacit love I floated near her Like I really, really liked her Meandering silently Breathing her fragrant air. My wordless desire Touched her loving profile Long enough to win A tiny courteous smile. One day I almost said hello But before approaching her I searched deep within My reservoir of empty treasure. Still, I didn't give up Holding on to my tacit love Believing timidly Love alone will conquer her. And as I reached her inner sphere I began to realize Even if I win her over She deserves so much more! Your Words

I will thank you
For your voice.
It adds a weight to the hem of the veil
That will press down
The curtain of secrecy.

Your words, your octave, your spacing
Will appear before my closed lids,
As an artist painting a self portrait;
Of a man I have never seen
Or touched or tasted.

Each word, each stroke,
Each layer, each contradiction,
Will transform the
Ghosts of imagination
And define your reality.

I pray for this one word:Hello.

The Road It Forks

In the breaking light of dawn,
in a photograph - we kiss.
It's to your inner light I'm drawn,
while cursing fate, and chances missed...
Wrapped in thought, and solitude,
sweet lies trumped by bitter truth.
The road it forks, and one way taken,
now questions over dreams foresaken...
A puzzling gauntlet of how, when and why?
You were my favorite hello,
and my hardest goodbye...

Boomerang Heart

Bent love never dies it just keeps bending.
Until it morphs into a burning boomerang.
That smacks you in the chambers of your half-mast heart.

I breathe inside a three-bedroom chasm.
Somewhere between happy and what ifs.
Saying hello to a twenty-six-year-old echo.
Of close calls and head on crash regrets.

You deserve a good life.... I don't.

You've taught me, after decades of decline, what unconditional really is.
It's that satin island that I've been sailing toward upon this broken ship.
Even though I screwed you into the rotting wood of my id.

I'm truly happy that you landed softly in a heart.
That gave you that elusive elixir called.
"What I couldn't give."

The Great Hug

Everybody needs

A little love and care

A friendly hello, how are you dear

A little smile

Can go for millions of miles

To make rainbows out of stormy skies

You don't have to be

Extravagant

A little courtesy is sufficient

But what I have to say I can't hold back

I really mean it

And that's a fact

I want to hug you, in the morning

Before it's breakfast time

I believe my arms were made for hugging you

And yours were meant for mine

I want to hug you, in the afternoon

A sunny evening delight

I want to snuggle really close when stars are out

And hug you under moonlight

Family Sorrow

The phone rings- say “Hello”- and hear the sobs;
my heart jumps- for I feel his anguished pain.
With fear, I ask him if there's something wrong!
“Oh God, he's gone! My dear Grandson is gone!”
The words sting hard with blinding disbelief.
So brave, with hope- this cancer, he fought hard;
and still, somehow, that dreaded devil won.
Youth, love for life- and giftedness had failed;
my Great-Nephew- just twenty-one, now gone.
What words can we each find- to ease our pain?

A Date At Chelsea's With Marci

Mid-April evening, overlooking Clear Lake
at Chelsea’s Wine Bar, a party of one:

Sipping white zinfandel, I feel the chill
of my half-empty glass while fancy-free

flatware clatters impassive pageantry.
A moment. An hour. Another, until,

on the wooden veranda, I see you take
a familiar draw from your lipstick stained

cigarette. I thought you had quit awhile back.
I couldn’t - and step outside where the

unchanged breeze holds a subtle hint
of perfume. That hasn’t changed. I hesitate,

but then say “hello”. Turning away, you say
“it’s late”. I nod. Unnoticed by agreement.

Extemporaneous Love

Extemporaneous Love

Like a fire
contained in a crate
extemporaneous love
burning wildly
outside compassionate law

fiery eyed suave, furtive glance
soft, quick stroke at the back of the neck
and a long voluptuous wish

electric current charging
the eros energy of
thought undone dares
elicit naughtiness

beginning with a friendly touch
the words “hello”
suggestive smile
yes, so
suggestive

You Had Me At Hello

We have been friends for quite awhile
It started at hello followed by your smile
But your one time presence wasn't enough

So i tried again and you made it tough
So i left it alone i let it go
Now here i am just to let you know
I saw you again just the other day
I was lost for words but thats okay

I know were differant in many ways
I thought with a life time you thought with days
But all isn't lost a friendship was to gain
holding the time we had and the maybes that remain
All and all my friend i want you to know
You would loose me at goodbye because you had me at hello
