Things That Seemed Poetic

Things that seemed poetic were always sad,
though I yearned for sparkle
and my dad's guffaw, which never came.
Familiar things were always drear --
repeated motions in the same old game.
There were only distant glimpses
of budding spring, fleeting views
of daffodils. The strongest
poems dealt me death and dying.
Yet I always hoped, never went under
to gray despair, always dreaming
of a garden of love we could share.
But those forbidden delights faded
quickly away; the only reality
I understand is the ever-looming
and final one. Nothing's changed.
The strongest poems deal death
and dying.

Life

I asked to my father
Baba, What is life ?
He politely said to me, " Life is Duty . "

I asked to my mother
Maa, What is life ?
She said to me with smile, " Life is Responsibility . "

I asked to my teacher
Sir, What is life ?
He said to me with love, " Life is Education . "

I asked to my spiritual master
Gurujee, What is life ?
He said to me with confidence, " Life is Devotion . "

Today my son who reads in class nine
Asked me
Babai, What is life ?
I have said to him, " Dear, You are my life . "

I Need Your Help Daddy

I’m tired
I’m Physically and Emotionally tired
I don’t want to be the strong one anymore
I can’t this time
I don’t know what to do Daddy
I need your help down here

I can’t get back in control of my emotions
I’m having a hard time dealing with your absence
I’m having a hard time standing by myself
I need your help Daddy

I’m broken and lost without you Daddy
I need your will to want to carry on
I need your strength to over come this
I need your strength to stay standing
Your courage to fight back again
I need your help

Please Daddy I’m at a loss
How am I suppose to do this
I need your guidance
I need you to guide me back
To whom I was before
I need your help Daddy
I need your help

Suicide Mind

What makes the decision
To flick the switch
To end ones life
For the sake of it

Troubled, debts
Bullied at school
Fork in the road
To let death rule

Mums, dads
Daughters and sons
What ever affects them
They just can't outrun

Sadness and tears
By all left behind
Will they ever understand

Follow Your Heart

Follow Your Heart Father Time has brought us safely thus far And our future is not tied to some distant star. We’ve always had each other’s arms That kept us together and safe from all harm. Yet, all our yesterdays now stand alone. And we know that tomorrow is not cast in stone, Where once we saw happiness, now there is pain It seems memories and heartaches are all that remain. So, when life seems the darkest and troubles appear And all the world’s dangers, alarmingly near, Remember our love - let it play its part And don’t be afraid to follow your heart. The Little Box

There's a little box found in my room,
With heartfelt memories, I won't open soon.

 A box of pictures, to reminisce.
They break my heart, it's you I miss.

 Portraits of my little girl, When daddy
left, it pained her world.

 Oh my precious, I'm deeply sorry,
for hurting you, and causing worry.

 A separation that brought you pain,
I wish my love that I could change.

 A love a father deeply feels,
 I pray in time, your heart would heal.

 The years are missing, they pass on by,
I call no answer, there's no reply.

 There is a blame I hold inside, and
sadly know the reason why.

 There's a little box found in my room,
full of heartfelt memories I won't open soon.

Loving the Child In Me

There is a child that looks like me.
Years from now still won't be free.
You'll want to rock her in your arms.
Keep her safe from all that harms.

Some things you simply don't forget.
And there is shame that haunts me yet.
The stark reality is this-
I find it hard to share a kiss.

Children are meant for love and prayers.
Not sneaking footsteps on the stairs.
Fear grows where refuge should be.
Hate floats on a toxic sea.

In all these years sorrow still lives.
A broken spirit but strong will gives
reason to find a better way.
This child is loved by me today.

In the Autumn of My Life

I walk
through flames
of autumns’ sweet refrain-

That break beneath
a weight too much
to bear-

Where-
I tread in solitude
and mourning there-

Along a path
of maple trees
and scented air-

As
I recall the life
that we once shared-

~~~
And in
the twilight hours
I see
the beauty of it all-
In every
autumn leaf
that softly falls-
My Father Is a Soldier
My father is a hero.
He stands so tall and proud.
His hands are firm, But gentle.
He stands out in a crowd.
People stop to Thank him.
For Freedom he does fight.
My father is a Soldier.
But he's my Dad at night!
Hope Is My Anchor
Hope is the anchor that secures my soul
Needed for endurance as the Bible foretold
One of three qualities, along with faith and love
I am filled with hope to honor my Holy Father above
Hope in God's promises lightens my heavy load
It's instilled in me when I venture down a dark road
Hope has power to keep me moving in the right direction
And there I will find the mercy and love of God's protection
Hope is a means of trusting in what will be
Faith in the unseen; that is what hope means to me
Life without it fences me inside a brick wall without a gate
I believe in the Word of God;  I do not adhere to destiny or fate
An Unwritten Fairytale
Inside an inkwell, lives a fairy tale
A classic, filled with love and misery
Where," Once upon a time" has long set sail
And "happy ever after's" yet to be
It's plot, a knight, once schooled in chivalry
His quest for love, the dragons he has slain
From Crusades 'round the world to frippery
The jousts with Father Time who drew disdain
Yet deep inside is where brave knight remains
A lifetime of adventures, good and bad
The love he searches for, still unobtained
Still finding peace, his "grail" this Gallahad
Perhaps, I'll buy a quill one of these days
Release Sir Knight and legends of his ways
Shweet Love
The minute our eyes met it was love at first sight I knew you were the perfect one for me my parents tried to keep us apart but I simply couldn’t let you go My father tried to persuade me are you really sure he’s the one? It’s not too late to change your mind… I smiled my sweetest smile - Dad knew when he was beaten I skipped out of the toy shop .... nestling in my arms, my birthday teddy bear! Caleb
What can be said
about this man
One that is not easy to be read.
His words come to life
Pen to paper
With poetry to his wife
A loving father indeed
Nothing else like it
Teaching and giving all they need.
Mysterious is he
What's in his head
Is he thinking about me
He's not perfect
Mistakes have been made
Things I know he'll correct
He's my best friend
the one I married
A love that will never end
He has been mine
For quite some time
I find he is still so divine.
Be Still
Be still and know that God is with you.
Be still and know His love is real.
Be still and know your Heavenly Father,
Feels every joy and pain you feel.
Be still and let God's love enfold you.
Be still and know His perfect peace.
Be still and know God is all-sufficient,
His grace and mercy will never cease.
Be still and know that God is for you.
Be still and know you're not alone.
Be still and know He'll ne'er forsake you.
He knows your name - you are His own.
Be still and know that God is holy.
Be still and learn His righteous ways.
Be still and know that God is worthy,
To receive our worship and our praise.
Red Redemption
The Rose of Sharon bled holy red
with a crown of thorns upon His head
His blood flowed through time and space
pleasing the Father, covering our disgrace.
How great Thou art, oh spotless Lamb
to suffer for the souls of man
innocent, beaten, torn and scarred
healed by Your stripes from eternal harm.
Believe in the power of the blood
shed freely upon that cross above
for by it we're forgiven if we truly believe
new life to be given if we truly receive.
The Rose of Sharon bled holy red
with a crown of thorns upon His head.
Our Fathers Love
God touches us with healing hands
if we will just believe
he’ll take away our every pain
our sorrows when we grieve.
He’ll hold us in his loving arms
and wipe away our tears
and in the darkest part of night
he’ll ease all of our fears.
For God the Father’s love is pure
much purer than the snow
and when we accept him in our hearts
it’s then that we will know
that no other love can ever compare
to the love we feel inside
for a father who loved us all so much
that upon a cross he died.
Even in our darkest hour
his love will light the way
so that we might have eternal life
with him in heaven someday.
Progeny
we ...
are strands ...
they, a strumming, resonant -
notes of an ambrosial
strain that tickles the tympans of
life and enlightenment ...
they are thistle on the breath of spring,
pappus of a bloom, passionate,
set for naught but fruitful
purchase -
ideality, their roots ...
tender tendrils wrapped 'round
dreams that know
no waking ...
seeds and songs let loose
from our hearts' deepest chambers,
with a boundless hope,
and an ache ...
unyielding.
All Things Come From Above
All things come from the Father above
Our hopes, our dreams, our love
Our purpose in this life
Our toils with daily strife
We are nothing without Him
Our lives would be insignificant and dim
We need something to believe in
So we can live without sin
All things come from the Father above
He shares our hopes, our dreams , our love
He shows us the glory of His ways
So we can follow all of our days
He leads us down the right path each day
So we will no longer stray
He will not let us stumble and fall
It's simple all we have to do is call
Walk With Me
Walk With Me
       I said, "Look at the mess I've made."
He said, "Take my hand and don't be afraid."
       I said, "But I feel so ashamed."
He said,  "I love you son and you're the reason I came."
       I said, "What about those dark days ahead?"
He said, "My love will be nourishment and keep you well fed."
       I said, "I'm not brave tell me what to do."
He said, "Believe in me and I'll carry you through."
       I said, "Okay Father, teach me to be a man."
He said, "I love you my son now take my hand."
       I said, "My soul is Yours for eternity."
He said, "I'm proud of you my son, now walk with me."
Of Grief and Pain
Grief I have known little of.
It’s not as if I ever lost
my one true love.
One brother taken in his prime
saddened us, and yet I know
we’ll see him in good time
My father - two years ago -
passed away, but a stranger was he to me.
Grief too difficult I’ve yet to know.
Yes, great grief I think has yet to be my bane.
I’m compensated physically instead
with chronic pain!
A Prayer Song
Father, let me live, Help me freely give, As I have received from You, Let me thus forgive. Father, let me love, Like a gentle dove, As You have showered on me, From heaven above. Father, let me learn, To Your Word return, As You have desired for me, Let my desires burn. Father, let me know, Where I need to go, As You are my only Guide, Help me in You grow. Father, let me pray, Come to You each day, As You have taught me with love, Let me walk Your Way. 16/08/17 Syllable count: 5.5.7.5
