Midnight Romance
Dusk falls quickly on cerulean skies
Day morphs from ash of roses to sable
Our love's vision flashes before my eyes
Midnight romance, like an ancient fable
Charcoal sketches meander in my mind
While jasmine-absinthe incense is burning
it's smoke, evokes passions clearly defined
porcelain skin blushes with love's yearning
Obsidian-ebony eyes that gleam
pleading to quench needy soulful desire
beckoning me to unite in the dream
willingly, I rush to put out the fire
My mind's eye sees quivering crimson lips
As love drips from ivory fingertips

love,
Let us embrace
like twilight kisses the sun goodnight.
Indulge in hues of scarlet, crimson and lilac,
until the salutation of stars .
In the nothingness of silence,
our souls will whisper sweet symphonies,
as we flow with sensual tones of night.
Tenderness of touch will compose a concerto,
along the nakedness of your innocence.
I will hold you like a violin,
feel smooth sensations of your strings.
Pulsate like a passionate pianist,
caressing silky ivory and satin ebony keys.
Upon the first scent of dawn,
I will watch your heart sigh,
as you lay breathless in my arms -
and become the nature of my poetry.

10th grade, 12th grade, beautiful, feelings, imagery, love, stars,
Lingering rays of sunlight slowly die
as scarlet burns the sky, where clouds ignite.
And while the birds roost, bats begin to fly,
capturing elusive moths in mid-flight.
Luna hangs high in an ebony sky,
spinning dreams into beams of golden light.
And twinkling stars, like fireflies in the night,
confetti the heavens, dazzling the eye.
Like gold filigree, pinned to the darkness:
galaxies adorn the heavens above,
and shooting stars unzip the black of space.
Yet, Man stands unabashed in His starkness,
for Nature's beauty can't compete with love;
an emotion intrinsic to His race.

Silent as smoke, darkness descends;

For summoned by a bullfrog's croak;

The Moon pools in ebony skies;
gilded golden; She starts to rise.
One of the night's brightest jewels;
in ebony skies, the Moon pools.
Blue bleeds red from a dying sun,
a telltale sign that day is done.
Inking crimson clouds overhead;
from a dying sun, blue bleeds red.
Signaling their love, fireflies flash;
as dusk settles like sooty ash.
Under the stars, twinkling above;
fireflies flash, signaling their love.

lost love,
I wrote verse on the wings of a lark
romantic phrases in perfect rhyme
but the lark flew away in the dark
I wrote no further for the longest time
A lone blue jay landed upon my lawn
I wrote sweet prose on his sapphire wings
He spent the night with me, but at dawn
the jay flew away and no longer sings
I answered the call of a beautiful raven
I wrote love sonnets on his ebony wings
He stayed for years in my safe haven
I was one of the raven's castoff things
I no longer trust those who take flight
I lost them all and my torn heart bled
On restless wings I'll never again write
of love that leaves me alone in my bed

"Mild brown eyes beckon me to the past, but memory provides no clue." - Mason Cooley
Dark are the eyes of my love -
dark like freshly brewed coffee
brimming with the lust for life
Dark is the skin of my love -
dark like a beautiful ebony night
and velvet to my touch
Dark is the hair of my love -
dark like soft, rich sable
through which I tenderly run my fingers
Dark is the mahogony obsidian chakra of my love
which empowers him with strength and sensuality,
and mesmerizes me with the poetry of his soul

Pausing along the sexy winding

Winding the sacred trail

As you lie sleeping

And
You are new country...

TO A POETIC TIME LAPSE
As the sharp rays
of sunlight slowly sliced
through the tarrying tinted clouds,
I wiped away the web
of darkness of night;
broke off a piece of time
and used it to scrape away
the corrosion of agony
from the heart of my mind...
and resuscitated my eroded faith.
Today I will open
dusty luggage of creativity
and pull out wrinkled war worn words:
etch ebony emotions of long lived life
onto refined pulp of trees;
weave soul stirring songs;
mould scented flowers
of peace and love; justice...
feel the breath of God
warming my serene sweet soul
while feathering the nest
of my pregnant poetic mind.

If your eyes are open, yet all is dark;
and prospects look slim, and your future stark:
the innocence of youth has lost its spark.
Let love be your candle.
If the stars fail to pierce ebony skies
or the light within your soul ever dies,
as life's cacophony drowns out your cries.
Let love be your candle.
If you find yourself blinded by the night,
and yet in desperate need of a light
to identify what is wrong from right.
Let love be your candle.
If you are suppressing a silent scream
lost within broken fragments of a dream,
aimlessly wandering from scheme to scheme.
Let love be your candle.

merge with the shadows in
a synergy of hope.
Two inseparable
half-souls, morph into one;
subservient to the
whims of compliant hearts.
As romantic dreamers
seal their love with a kiss;
as calm waters reflect
a blood-stained, scarlet sky.
Twinkling stars confetti
the ebony of space;
and as darkness descends,
Dusk snuffs out beams of light.
Time appears to stand still,
reality pauses;
and enchanted lovers
swim the depths of their souls.

beautiful, emotions, fantasy, feelings, imagery, imagination, romantic,
One enchanted evening
I followed Luna’s moon,
as She guided my ship
to a secret lagoon.
In a golden ocean
buffed to a mirror sheen,
I spied the sexiest
mermaid I'd ever seen.
She flaunts ebony hair
befitting, a true Queen,
offset by a sweeping
tail of aquamarine.
Anchored in the shallows
I waded to the shore,
and evoked the magic
that would open love's door.
Under a full March moon
she steps from fantasy,
and rises from the sea
to make sweet love to me.
Sharing this special night
I know that she must leave,
and I’m to be content
with the gift of this eve.

What I feel can't be denied;
when I watch her sleep at night.
For feeling all warm inside;
seconds pause as time takes flight.
She's in her fantasy place,
where dreams get steeped in pleasure.
And an aura frames her face;
almost too bright to measure.
Venus loathes rising at night;
to traverse ebony skies.
For She cannot match her light,
no matter how hard She tries.
Nuzzled awake with a kiss;
loving lips welcome my charms.
And we share feelings of bliss;
snuggled in each other's arms.

desire, emotions, loss, love,
How many times did I gaze on thy face
In mine daydreams? When spent sun was fiercer;
Before night lapse in dank vesture of lace.
Mine wane smile died with memories dear sir.
Whiff scent of nature's breath upon mine cheeks
Unfurl the substance in mine trouble soul.
Swell of explosive unsated love seeks
Warm wisp embrace, of thy intimate whole.
Brush flitter, around musical full score
Ivory fingers purposeless upon
My ebony frame, asking for much more,
Sweet release, mine demise, a distant yawn.
Eternal sunshine that was mine, a force
That's still mine total joy, but night's remorse.

betrayal,
Ebony
As denied passion in memories stings
while yearnings churn up a still crazy heart,
Stains of hatred on purest mind it brings,
for life, subtle soul remains deeply scarred,
Vivid thoughts twinkle and then drift apart.
No stopping to tears that flow in despair,
Condemned be time, engulfing all the flair,
Trust and love obsessed into agony,
absolute darkness would defy the fair
unless unveil these clouds of ebony !

lost love, moon, night,
we sat
on a blanket of grass
beneath ebony skies
the stars reflecting
in your eyes
as the moon
cast a lambent light
atop the lake nearby
where silhouettes danced
to the cicadas song
we clung to hope
like leaves to trees
as we breathed
within summer's breath
we saw forever
in the span
of a star studded sky
a glisten in eyes
never goodbyes
we wished
upon a fallen star
that love
nor this night
would ever end
we watched
as dreams
dissipated
like fog
within the dawn
as we fell apart
now we only exist
as we breathe
through the sighs
of memories

moon,
alone ‘neath the full moon
my heart once bright with hope, now dimmed
how I wished you were here with me
as the moon bled with my heart
shadows of past love traversed the orb
ruby halo I longed to share with you
watching as a shadow slid across the moon
shooting star left its contrail in ebony sky
smiling, I saw your heart in the scarlet moon
where are you now, my love
magic moments we once shared
my spirits sank - torment of a blood moon
*While we were watching the moon, we saw a shooting star!

A KISS not just any kiss but thee kiss...........
First to connect
Your lips indulge mine
Did 'nt see it just tasted it
I can still feel it
A kiss that told more than any poet
Ecstasy the room turned
Pleasure so divine
Hands that pulled my ebony ruffled curls
As your sensual mouth danced with mine
I made love to you that moment
All through my soul like ocean waves
Desire and fire
A flame so high
A pulse that could not deny
As your heart pounded
We grounded ....you and I....
Enclosed in a moment for two
A Kiss not just any Kiss but thee kiss..

find my darkness hidden within.
feed my hunger with your sin,
quench my thirst with those lies;
don’t rescind, I’ll be your heroine-
until the black dove flies...
until the black dove flies.

He started with His Grace, to cleanse my Soul
A Purification that made me whole, a Redeemed SOUL

friendship,
As the sun filled the saffron skies with light,
Ebony and Ivory sparkled bright,
celebrating love beyond skin and name;
they knew not society's evil game,
sipping tea from a cup of compassion,
dressed in empathy and primrose passion.
They seized their moment in soft herbs of spring,
letting kind flavors of true friendship bring~
reasons to the table, as stars admire,
how their selfless affection does inspire,
the world to embrace sweet dreams, that glitter~
to dissolve beliefs that taste so bitter.

god, poets,
God never existed don't you
know?
Only fools think it so!
We who write on parchment really
think...
We, are the gods and goddesses
who created it all, with polls of
glistening ebony, primordial ink!
Oh,how we weep over man's idiotic
actions.
We squirm like a paramecium
and have visceral reactions.
Some gods we are, aye!
Refuseniks who give a finger
to the Creator in the sky.
I know poets here who know
far better.
Their poetry reflects God's love
in their poems in each letter.
We can play God all we choose.
And if we do?
We are unmitigated fools.
Drunk and lying in self-adoration,
hellish pools.

angel, christian, depression, forgiveness, heartbreak,
With her fall from grace
She stands all alone in this place
With ebony tears falling down her face
With lighting streaking across the sky
She hangs her head to cry
Broken and alone she wonders 'Why do I try'
No one cares if I live or die
Maybe tonight is the night I die.
Closer to the rivers edge
Her soul teeters on the ledge
No will to live
with nothing more to give
She closes her eyes
and takes a deep sigh
But as she's ready to take the jump
The wind blows and she feels a slight bump
It's a crimson red rose
As she picks it up, she realizes the future it holds
A fallen angel she may be
But Gods love will always be!
