The Dove In Your Eyes

How fast to wiles I fell my damask rose,
awake from slumber slept untold ages.
To gaze so deep in ocean eyes repose,
and print whispered prayer on mind's pages.

Your soul in gleaming shadow found complete,
a thirst no other want or wish contrived.
Nor cherry grown upon the branch so sweet,
without cold and dark of Winter survived.

What heart loved without a madness looming,
secure from injury sure to tarnish.
Unbroken, though lone in sadness' glooming,
and held away from love's fruited garnish.

How true the dove devoted in flight still,
that lasted in love, more than ever will.

Writing a Love Sonnet POTD

If only I could write you a sonnet,
Iambic pentameter and what not,
Let my muse mull profoundly upon it.
I must write it quickly lest I forgot.

It will have to stress real passion, love,
Mention a rose if I really must
But for heaven's sake leave out the white dove,
Still do mention the red moon that I trust.

Compare her eyes to some fragrant flower,
And wish to taste her full strawberry lips,
Scheme to meet her in a quiet bower,
Clouds enfold us in mythical eclipse.

Will she come, will she go, my marigold?
Ah, my poor love sonnet has now gone cold.

Remember To Mind Your Reason

In the darkest of times
be the light of a candle
but the harshest of crimes
to let melt your candle

***
Give, unmindful of a reason
feel the heavy burden light
remember to mind your reason
fill your very soul with Light

***
Like a delicate dove
bathe into sweet waters well
feed on the seeds of Love
reach not the bottom of its well.

Thought Changer

Catching sight of unwanted reflection
through my eyes I observe my murky mind
lifeless, inactive, defying action
just a blank canvas, raw, pure, unrefined,

desire to inject substantial color
inspired pastels to brighten the darkness
eyes opaque though restrict light, much duller
impulses, brain requesting less Starkness,

my poor mind is without shape or structure
until my thoughts turn to the one I love
blissful images, colorful picture
changing this abyss, no more mourning dove,

she changes my thinking without restraints
such beautiful colors my mind she paints.

Land and Sea

Do you wish to hold me?
We can drift on the sea my love,
under the stars above.
You were my lovely dove so free,
who captivated me.

I thought I’d never be so glad
and still inside so sad
For the love we both had, is gone.

As we approach the dawn
I will think, “Once upon a time,
you were meant to be mine.”
So now my heart does pine away
Wishing that you would stay

I know that you will say, good bye
Still I will wonder why,
you chose another guy, not me.
Him on shore, me at Sea~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Fly little Dove

I felt ashamed today
I should have not spoken that way.
My love was annoyed and left.
I was surprised by all the dialogue bereft.
Worse the telephone ceased to work,
In anger, I threw down the phone with a jerk.

Saddened by my uncouth manner
Our love must remain a winner.
How to send her a message of sorrow?
I dared not wait for tomorrow.

A message I would send with haste,
No, no, not a moment to waste.
I wrote a note and stuck it to my dove.
With all the words that spelt love.

Fly, sweet white dove, fly to her home
No time to wander or to roam,
Straight to her loving arms, fly sweet bird
Let her message of love be heard.

My Mom

My mother was your average country mom
She wasn't gorgeous. Some might call her "plain"
But had the patience to diffuse a bomb
Her eyes grew narrow, when I caused her pain

She never raised her voice nor slapped my face
Still taught me right from wrong and not to lie
Made sure I bowed my head when dad said grace
Encouraged me to find new things to try

And even though she worked, twas not for greed
She took great pleasure from the "simple things"
She told me, "Faith in God," was all one needs
That real love doesn't come with any strings

My mother was as gentle as a dove
My prayer this Mother's Day, she knows she's loved

I Lay My Head

I lay my head  upon the softness of its mane
My white charger, no knight for a swain
as I am the gallant rider looking for love.
Riding the green valleys with mountains above,
looking for hope in natures  fertile plain

A dream, a carousel  of  tears  and  pain
With bobbing horses making  a colourful train
Flying above a sure sign of hope, a dove
I lay my head

Imagination in play as I search in vain
Why from happiness  must I abstain
My empty heart crying out to those above
Praying each night, please bring me love
Grabbing a handful of the silky white mane
I lay my head

In Twenty Years I Might Be a Tree

I Might Be a Tree

In twenty years I pray I won't be gone
placed six feet beneath a manicured lawn
I'd much prefer to give old death the slip
To guzzle life instead of just a sip

Mind and spirit together playing song
I'll rest a bit but not for very long
You see, there is so much I wish to do
Yes many years can feel like just a few

The company of those I truly love
will lift my spirits like a flying dove
The flowers that I plant will be in bloom
Beauty will surround me in every room

The ground might open up and swallow me
Don't worry I'll reach up and be a tree!

A Prayer For True Love

God lead us down the path into true love
the kind the angels send to hearts so pure
a sanguine blessing rarely spoken of
bestowed upon the wounded needing cure.

God tell me that true love in truth exists
and can be shared in blissful harmony
when given help by your hand that assists
in making daydream’s wish reality.

God favor future footsteps with true love
the kind that takes our very breath away.
Let it descend upon us, like a dove
just filling us with caring every day.

In a world with hatred everywhere,
God send us all the true love we can bare.

A Prayer Song

Father, let me live, Help me freely give, As I have received from You, Let me thus forgive. Father, let me love, Like a gentle dove, As You have showered on me, From heaven above. Father, let me learn, To Your Word return, As You have desired for me, Let my desires burn. Father, let me know, Where I need to go, As You are my only Guide, Help me in You grow. Father, let me pray, Come to You each day, As You have taught me with love, Let me walk Your Way. 16/08/17 Syllable count: 5.5.7.5

Confined Wings

In a carnal...cage of ribs,
A suffering heart laments.
In the abode of the soul...
...faint echoes of muted pain..
...grace the dark cavity of flesh.

Whispers of failures resonate..
The soul...a pure white dove of dreams.
Captive of freedom...imprisoned from love.
Shackled to an interior dungeon of depression.

Red rivers stream...through the body’s conduits,
Poetic lullaby’s gush...soothing the dove to slumber.
Dreams of love...nestled deep..
...aspire the joy that once was.

Feel My Love

See my love in the waves of the seas.
Hear my love in rustling leaves in the breeze.
Feel my love in my soft caressing touch.

Share with me a gentle light kiss, not too much.
Like the love shown by the cooing dove,
Through these fleeting moments, sense my love.

Blue Ridge Mountains

In these mountains, where I’m from, peace amazes,
With nostalgic beauty, its gentle praises.
Silence whispers to souls, believers know love,
Breathless inklings linger, a calm from above.
Love this alive and perfect surely blazes.

In these mountains, where the sun reflects, dazes,
Harmonizing with shadows, carefree phases
Beyond the oaks and pines, I found my truelove…
	In these mountains…

As the stars climb higher on twilight’s gazes,
Beyond the moonlit night, twinkling wish raises,
Gentle faith abides, reminding there’s Godlove,
Secreted beneath wonders of the sweet dove,
Within the heart and spirit, His love raises,
	In these mountains…

The Sky, a Star, a Kiss

To be in love when eyes meet in the dawn
as the day will stay with us on its own
to give our new love a gift to pass on
this kiss of love, we'll reap what we have sown
the sky will grow dark and the day will pass
to let a star weep a tear of true glee
when each kiss will turn to feel what will last
the sky, a star, a kiss they are all free
this gift we give to this our real true love
that we will hold as a gem in our hand
like the soft cries from the beak of a dove
fall on our ears as we lay in the sand
To be in love at the dawn of the day
The time will pass and the warm kiss will stay

A Brutally Honest Valentine's

My darling enigma, my dove
You’re the epitome of my love
Your smile shines at me pearly white
Pale skin shines and glints in the light
Silken locks, obsidian flow
Eyes just like ice, crystalline glow
Peals of laughter ring like a bell
Enchant me; I’m under your spell
You walk with a musical flow
Tiptoeing with softness through snow

But, alas, you open your mouth
Utter tripe spilling out
If only you’d keep your mouth shut.

Legend of the White Pumpkin

Legend has it
She cast her spell to gain his love
With a lock of his hair and feather of a dove
He murdered her on all hallows night
Then planted a pumpkin on her grave site
White as her hair the pumpkin did grow
Legend says it is so

Wow 50 words burns up quick
that was harder than i thought
it would be.

A Beautiful Angel

Gazing from afar, amid still frame silence...
Watching her making way unto the parks bench
Blue skies taking a drag from my cigarette; sketching
Divinities staircase within my mind; transcending this Autumn's
Canvas but a silhouette her bridals path winding, through a breath..
Reaching out her gentle hand whileas a white dove, the symbol of love
Descends from it's perch atop porcelain clouds to drink, from this her tears
Pangful spheres risen from a crystal heart; cast aside yesteryears cherub wings...
She awaits endless dreams; to awaken from this valley of broken things; her beauty.

Singing Blue Blazes

As the snowdrops nod happily when you kissed my soul warmly love
laughing in the cold spring air so stirringly beautiful flutters wings of a dove

The daffodils yawn awakening to new life or so it seems
sun beams smile inside a thousand songs sweetly my dream

Birds singing freely dawning tunes deep heartfelt desire
you are amazing one faraway flame kissing beats on fire

Non-Toxic Love

Non-Toxic Love

Pecking order glances
Destroys friendship chances
Dissolves love, annuls romances.

Surviving smart as a fox…
Smooths that road of hard knocks…
So step out of the box.

Live above mental kicks.
Care, without verbal pricks,
Strengthen homes made of sticks.

Avoid hot gossiping lips
Prevent ill judger's grips.
Watch the evil one do flips.

Find peace with the white dove.
Be sheltered by God above.
Receive His gift… non-toxic love.

When I Close My Eyes

When I close my eyes I see your face
Shining beautiful like summer's grace
I see sweetness in the curve of your smile
Which lingers in my mind for a while
Yet in your eyes I see a lonely dove
Who yearns for man's honest love
Majority of your years you've had so much strife
Yet you still deserve a man in your life
So break the bonds and mould the pain
For there is still much more to gain

Elegy of the Aisle

A memory of tears filled eyes
How can I forget this precious aisle?
The aisle you walk in your gown-shy
Now carries your silent and dire

How can I whisper to you love
How you looked as a dove
Ah! The memory is green and fresh
The night of our all white and thresh

Look at you o! Once beautiful aisle
You are my dread on you my light fade
Sermon given to my love as she goes to grave
The grace I ask to face this maze
