Poems For My Alien Abductors: a Ride Into Space

I thought I could wow them with poems from earth
Poems of joy and humor, poems extolling it’s worth
So I laid out poems from Michael, Gail, and me
From Andrea, David, Gwen, and Ilene
From PD, Harry, Mandy, and Chris
From Jack, Craig, Cyndi, and Liz…
For I was sure once they read our beautiful works
They would embrace us and love our humanly quirks!
So last night I taped them all over my skin
Knowing they’d find them if they took me again…

When I woke up, they were gone and I had a reply:
“We enjoyed reading those poems last night,
And thanks for the names of the earthlings too -
We have many more experiments to do!”

Cyndi

She mostly sits on the outside looking
into the worlds around her. Day by day
gazing into strong hearts interlocking
with others, bonding in the friendly way.
Her rationale, by and large is to cope
with life as a mom, with a two year old
and the love of a husband giving hope
that neither will be left out in the cold.

She is assured by his drive and his verve.
He - - in return lets her live her own life.
Sometimes her other self loses her nerve:
she revives, being mom, poet and wife

She offers a sonnet for sweet respite,
for life, being young, and living outright

Good Mother

A sun amongst dark stars in the blue sky,
A rose in the forest of wild flowers,
Her benevolence makes men not to cry,
Her tantalizing love falls like showers,
Mind and patience taller than many towers.

The Friendship Jar

This gift of love I gave my friend,
A jar with messages to send.
Adorned with ribbon curls and lace,
To put a smile upon her face.
I know she'll keep it to the end

I thought out just what I should say,
That she could read to make her day.
On folded papers laid inside
This gift of love.

Wrote down things like "you're so funny"
"With you here each day is sunny"
"You're kind and wise,so very smart".
Know that this gift comes from the heart,
Something you can't buy with money
This gift of love.

National Siblings Day

Today is National Siblings day so I thought to give it a quick shout,
That I love my sister very much and love everything she is about.

She is my best friend and has been their for me when things get rough,
Giving me advice, love and support when things can get a bit tough.

I still laugh at her antics of how she would do dishes a very long time ago,
She would wait for them to dry by themselves thinking I would not know.

I would keep wetting those dishes until she came up the stairs to give them a dry,
The look on her face was hilarious, she would always wonder wet? WHY?

Joys of Being Naked

Ah, yes, the joys of being naked
I love you’re wholly naked with me
Others have us wisely rated
They can go outside, come and see
And wish to one day simply be

Secure in their bodies enough
To be glowing in the buff
Greatly we are completely so
Got invisible clothes and stuff
Comfortable in skin I know

A Fellow Sonneteer - the Linton Lassie

Here’s to Margaret - the Linton lassie.
She hails from the lovely land down under.
She’s a sweetie, and I bet she’s classy,
since she pens her poems like a wonder.

I met awesome poets when I came here,
but none like Marge, for she is much like me.
She’s both a poetess and sonneteer
who writes in forms of classic poetry.

One day dear Margaret just disappeared.
I sent her notes, but she did not reply.
And then some time ago she reappeared
just to leave again! I’m not sure why.

Marge says she’s coming back, so I’ll not fret.
More sonneteers I‘ve happily since met!

Au Revoir, Love

"Au revoir, mon amour", these words I cried. Our affaire de coeur, c'est magnifique... "Why must our passion end?" I sighed, "Au revoir, mon amour", these words I cried. With a kiss, "c'est la vie", he replied, "our beautiful love, a shelved antique". "Au revoir, mon amour", these words I cried. Our affaire de coeur, c'est magnifique! Love For Lavender Cologne

To tales that came on vast meadow
Beyond days that would tomorrow
Be, is tasty tang on bitter tongue;
Life to shriveled strength of ping pong
Passing over in time, chaos will borrow.

In my hand, bottled gas to blow
Rosy scent upon my mom, aglow
It set air veins, fringes that belong
                         To tales that came.

Cherished, yet it was long time ago
When it left me to join the row
Of relics. Lavender glass, long,
Lofty like a famed minstrel's song
Mom's love for my cologne can't go
                          To tales that came.
