They Told Me You Cried

They told me you cried on the day I died
A sob splintering through a silent dome
Your sorrow a shroud on the catacomb
As I laid where birds no longer replied
Now I watch as you slowly search the beach
For those rare shells edged in liminal blue
I would gift you that impossible hue
To show I was within sight, within reach

Yet I wish you more than what shadows grant
A life in the sun of a springtime glen
Not lost in the gloom of my grave's abyss
Let my legacy be the hope you plant
Blooming with the courage to love again
If you will keep something of me - keep this

Retreat To Heed Our Honest Deeds

RETREAT TO HEED OUR HONEST DEEDS

Two old oak trees weathered by winds and rain
with fallen leaves, branches and toughened bark
to shield a core of grandeur, and sustain
the wisdom borne to see the light from dark.
Two noble men aware of twilight time
both face evil world with courage and grace
Love and Nature gifts each, a life sublime
all standing with courage none can erase.
Each rooted within mother earth's great fold
weathering this world's darkest raging storms
images show lives lived regally and bold
tho' existing in weakened earthen forms.
With words of wisdom written in our seeds
we seek retreat to heed our honest deeds.

A Warrior For Love

I'm a Warrior

Don't bleed of fear

Armed and ready for battle

Anytime Anywhere

Don't look for trouble

But if trouble be

Skies of lightning and thunder

Strike my enemies

Am a Warrior

No one's too Big

To be cut down and defeated

By Grace of GOD they will

I'm the Warrior

Its win, Win or Die

Stand up for LOVE be not afraid...

Raise Swords up high

My Heart Is Meant For You

Lights dimmed in a cool marbled hall
a solitary candle flickers
soft chamber music echoes
and my thoughts turn to You
down on my knees
memories come as love has gone
how many times have I begged
to have a heart to hold
a bond to build
an angel to adore
Again I beg for the courage
the strength to carry on
to lead
to live
to love
unconditionally
A bright ray of sunshine
filters through the stained glass window
illuminating your image
heartaches soothe as I take in your essence
and I know
my heart is meant for You

Roar

Just because she roars
Doesn't mean she doesn't feel
You don't know her ordeal
Stop and think before you squeall
You don't know what she has to conceal
You couldn't possibly know how she feels

She hasn't made any deals
She tries to be real
And Before you appeal
You should love her enough to let her heal

I Need Your Help Daddy

I’m tired
I’m Physically and Emotionally tired
I don’t want to be the strong one anymore
I can’t this time
I don’t know what to do Daddy
I need your help down here

I can’t get back in control of my emotions
I’m having a hard time dealing with your absence
I’m having a hard time standing by myself
I need your help Daddy

I’m broken and lost without you Daddy
I need your will to want to carry on
I need your strength to over come this
I need your strength to stay standing
Your courage to fight back again
I need your help

Please Daddy I’m at a loss
How am I suppose to do this
I need your guidance
I need you to guide me back
To whom I was before
I need your help Daddy
I need your help

Follow Your Heart

Follow Your Heart Father Time has brought us safely thus far And our future is not tied to some distant star. We’ve always had each other’s arms That kept us together and safe from all harm. Yet, all our yesterdays now stand alone. And we know that tomorrow is not cast in stone, Where once we saw happiness, now there is pain It seems memories and heartaches are all that remain. So, when life seems the darkest and troubles appear And all the world’s dangers, alarmingly near, Remember our love - let it play its part And don’t be afraid to follow your heart. A Soldiers Song

I taste an emptiness of love and weep from pain, in loss befall. Hope flees in fields of light above when time casts me its eternal pall. As darkness dims the flame of life with words of love left never said, Could one escape this misty strife? Does peace live only with the dead? I marched to anthems meant for kings and bled for cause, as told I must. What voices now with courage ring, as I lie face down in the dust? While glory waits as cities burn, who'll chant for me if I return? 12/31/2018

Mama Please Don'T Cry

MAMA PLEASE DON'T CRY

She smiled through the waves of pain
And held her mother's hand.
"Oh, Mama please don't cry," she said.
"And try to understand.
God wants me up in heaven now.
I hear him calling me.
There's lots of angels singing out.
It sounds so heavenly.

"Oh Mama please don't cry," she said.
"It's time for me to go.
You've given me your love and joy.
And Mom I love you so."
She wipes away her mama's tears
And looks into her eyes.
Then drifts into the Lord's sweet hands
As they say their goodbyes.

Now Mama hears her little girl;
"Oh, Mama please don't cry."
So brave and strong her little one:
The day they said goodbye.

When All I'Ve Loved

When all whom I have loved are gone,
Dear Lord, when I'm the only one
Who cares if I should live or die,
When there is no one left to cry,
Then Lord, take me.

But if there is a single soul
For whom I play important roll,
Who might just stumble, lose his way
Without my guidance through the day,
Then I would be

Content to stay another while,
To give him courage, bring a smile,
Teach him to look to You above
For truest guidance, purest love
His way to see.

Then I would say, "My work is done.
On Earth there is no other one
Who needs the love I have to give.
No reason now for me to live.
Dear Lord, take me."

The Only Door That Opens

When the only door that opens
is one leading to the past
I pack my bags and grab the wine
and find my way at last

I sojourn deep into the woods
                              of life’s long memories
and picnic on the leaves of love
                            for heart song melodies

And then with each familiar chord
and with each sip of wine
I start to find myself again
                         remembering what’s mine

A blessed life of ups and downs
                          with courage to be found
in knowing that I’ll find my way
                         when I come back around

Nihilist

Farcical, extravagant
My birthmark is a scar
A speckled blotch ...
A spot of pox
An icon from afar

I'm an upstart, I'm an eyesore
Ranting with a flair
In a tempest, I'm a rabid bird
Setting fire to the air

As dauntless as a hellhag
Unmoved by love or care
I can hold up in a cyclone
Feasting on your fear

I'm your last hope
As a laughingstock
I'm your courage in a dare
As audacious as a terrorist
With death-defying hair

When it's time to play the tragic fool
I'm as flagrant as a glare
Seething with a vengeance
In a tantrum of despair

Lost My Song

When in this life I felt down
You were the one that was around

Maybe it was the way you held my hand
I knew in my heart you would understand

I miss the way we used to sit and talk
The times we didn't look at the clock

The way you walked in those tight jeans
Made me want to pull my skin and scream

I remember trembling at your touch
I love and loved you so very much

I am lost inside now you're gone
Baby you are still my life's song

When I look to the night sky, I tear
I miss you and wish you were here

To Be Free

Entwined
The color
Of mankind
Echoed in
Our minds
The Realities
Of life
Forevermore
The ethnic
Flow of
Our blood
Pulsating
Giving us life
Giving us hope

We were
Color blind
Or
Perhaps
The world
Didn't understand
The differnt
Shades of
Pastels

We were free
Of that kind of
Bondage
That brought
Many of us
To our knees
Even as you
Lay in my arms
Dying
While our church
Was ingulfed
In flames
Whispering to me
Be free my love
Be free
Lesser men would
Have gone mad
You see
But not I
I would not
succumb to
That kind of
Bondage..

Blank White Paper

Blank white paper
Infinite hope, endless promise
An inspirational instrument

The artists canvas and lawmakers device
How an absent lover expresses love so precise

So much to say, I’m intimidated by its potential
Fearful to express my true self to you
Or to people exponential

Fear is a disease
A disease impeding me from being me

Blank white paper
A horrifying shrill to action

Blank white paper
My call to create
Channel your optimism
Divorce your pessimism
Summon the courage, others will follow

Allow your new future to begin today
Reveal your dreams hidden by white ink on
Blank white paper

Black Afternoon

her sunlight shaded with clouds
burning love shuttered in pain.
rainfalls pour down on her feet
black widow spits in demon's face.

broken mirror hangs in the wall
she sees face dirty and old.
pulling down tears one by one
rinse the wound caused by his hands.

she caves underground to feel the darkness
composed herself while brokenhearted.
wait for the morning to witness the sunlight
free her mind to feel the long lost love.

fiercefully, she ran through the door
no regrets, left her home alone.
blue and purple paintings on skin
have gone when she dance in the rain.

Be Guided By Love

Whenever the road is long and hard And you wish that your burdens were light, Remember to have FAITH there by your side. With courage it will act as your might. Whenever the sun seems lost from view And ahead a long, long night, Remember the HOPE lying deep in your heart. It will help to reveal the light. Whenever the darkness embodies your fears That you tremble at what lays in sight, Remember the LOVE that holds you dear, That will guard till the morning bright..... We are all travellers along life's road At times it seems only darkness in sight. So as you journey go with FAITH and HOPE. And let LOVE lead with its'kindly light.

Gray Area

Sometimes when matters are in the gray,
it ain’t always black and white
There are times when emotions are deep blue,
canary yellow thoughts can make us wanna fly, shy away
Then, bright orange glowing memories
bring gentle, evergreen smiles
As time’s seasonal change sunset down on us
Being lifelong lovers, we got
amethyst purple hearts of courage
that beats with
ruby red rhythms of loving perseverance
Here at this humble, brownstone garden abode,
two pink carnations have budded and bloomed
Now looking at the graying of the skies,
we can see the rainbows in each other’s eyes
Reflecting the soul spectrum of our love

Brainstorm

From an insufferable, unceasing rain of disappointment, I try to hide my scars under the cloak of a smile. Alas, this master of disguise, fools but one. My dreams are like a reverent prayer that's lost its relevance to love. Shrouded in ominous clouds of deception, I am a refugee of doubt with no joy in reality. I wade through poems that never rhyme, from memories that never mend. I cower from this rumbling squall of loneliness and shrink from the shards of misdirected words. The mantle of hope escapes my ambitions, forever silencing my courage. I am drowning in discontent. Brainstorm Contest Sponsored by John Hamilton 10/16/2018 1st. Place

Venus In View

Venus in View Oh, megalithic moon, shine your rays upon my beatific being For in this jubilant June, our hearts aflutter forever fleeing My Venus stands still, a Goddess of the crimson songful sky Within a throbbing thrill, my love comes in with a soulful shy Oh Aphrodite grant me courage as the jewels of heaven glow May the oracles flaunty furnish our embrace of eternities echo And thus our love will flourish for the petals of desire bestow. These Words

I would like to thank you for your visit.
I have removed these poems for a distant future book publication.
I believe we poets, can make a difference
in this world. We live in the 21st century,
we have tools( technology), we have our past, and imagination.
We just don't have the courage, because
I guess most are afraid to fail, to loose money.
All I have to say is we can't take money with us,
when we die. I also say hasn't mankind failed enough,
and isn't mankind worth the effort, our children is worth the effort..

Thank you, and my your God Bless you

Only Your Eyes Were Blue

I can recall
When we had it all
There was nothing we couldn't do
We were the best
Ahead of the rest
And only your eyes were blue
You stood by my side
Beaming with pride
Each morning we'd start anew
Searching our souls
Achieving our goals
And only your eyes were blue
We walked with a force
We set our own course
Our courage, our passions were true
We answered the call
We conquered it all
And only your eyes were blue
Since you've been gone
I still carry on
Your memory sees me through
If there was a way
I'd go back there today
When only your eyes were blue.

Just Come Closer

Come closer, just a little closer
break down the barriers and rise
over the blindness where one can see
your bits of beauty silently eluding me

Shade the penciled lines highlighting hues
of black and white with rainbow eyes
a kaleidoscope decorating nature's view
savoring every ounce of innocence true

Let your petals float in an essence of trust
leave lasting wafts of honey upon my lips
linger awhile letting our wanton ways exist
just come closer and I'll take the hurt away

Panagiota

Panagiota is a whirling Galaxie
with her blue thunder words
a spirit like black diamond lightning..
She bruises the clueless and ignorant
not out of hate but of love
not with a brass knuckled fist
but with pearled wisdom
layered around grains of
life's relentless grit.

Her words are not fanciful or minty...
their always stained with the talon of truth,
She crushes the weak-minded and the oblivious
with her Olympian soul and rose scented boots -
She fears nothing and never spares the rod
while weaving a spirited ink to her parchment heart.
Atop enchanted moonbeams
she lances pit vipers and tangos with God.

Enemies We Were Never Born

No, my loving friend,

Enemies we were never born but we were made

By all those evil men who had the most to gain

Thus I implore you ready to be each other to embrace

Forgetting to which religion we belong and to what race!
