The Squirrel

~My Nutty Squirrel Poem~

Up in a tree, on a branch
Now you see me, now you don't!

Sneaky and fast, I'm adorable
Now, why would you hunt or shot me for fun?
Do you like, how fast I run?
I'm not just another chipmunk
Stuffing my face with nuts,
I'm classy and beautiful,
The best part of nature.....

Red pointed ears, I hear you drawing near.
Chuckle, chuckle, caffeine free
I saw you looking at my fine coat.
Fluffy and curious, touch me and I'm Calling PETA!
See YA--- Life Is Beautiful!!!
I'm stuffing these nuts back into my mouth
and Jumping onto another tree :) The End
........
Love The Squirrel from another World.
Love LINDA

Small Love An Ocean

Small Love~An Ocean

to gain trust
of a wild heart
even so small
as a Chipmunk
a grace
a benison
bestowed by the goddess
who took pity
upon this fools soul.

The Autumn I Love

An aromatic whiff of evergreen tickles my nose as I approach the woods, with a cool crisp breeze that smells fresh and clean, nothing like crowded city neighborhoods. A pathway of pine needles and green moss leads me to a grove of ancient oak trees where a chipmunk chides me like he's my boss, upset that I come and go as I please. Wading into a sea of colored leaves they crackle and crunch with each step I take while watching bushy-tailed squirrels act like thieves, stealing stashes before the first snowflake. And a murder of crows cawing above seems apropos for the Autumn I love. (Sonnet) 10-20-2020
