Color Blind

I approach her with the same
Love I approach my family with.
Her skin is black.
I try to speak a few words in her
Native language to welcome her.
Her skin is brown.
I married a Chinese/Hawaiian
and our child is beautiful.
His skin is yellow/brown.
I write poetry about the Native
Americans to celebrate them.
Their skin is red.
I fit in with every race because
My color contains all colors.
My skin is white.

Math Sucks

2 friends,
ADD 1 relationship,
SUBTRACT pain and lust,
MULTIPLY by months,
= Love.
However,
SUBTRACT trust,
ADD temptation + 1 argument,
= Pain
DIVISION occurs,
ADDING long term disfunction,
SUBTRACTING common sense,
RAISED TO THE POWER of months,
= 2 crazy & 2 alone
MULTIPLY both sides by time and healing,
New relationships ADDED,
FACTOR OUT trust,
The ADD the 1st relation ship back to the equation,
MULTIPLY in months of pain + months of joy,
= LOVE/TRUST
I'd rather do Chinese arithmetic.

Rising Up

A bubble of boundless buoyancy
Gravity cancelled, the earth slips away
As the bordered basket swayingly
Takes us up, up out of the fray

And slowly sound recedes below
Not to background, but downground hum
As weighted bags of sand we throw
And gravity slips from zero to negative sum

The treetops point up at us above
Astonished, as we clips their heads
Rising high as heated love
We glide over their grassy beds

And as the dusk paints a deeper shade
A Chinese lantern we became
When brief blast of furnace flame then made
Our bubbletop glow with flame

Funny how from up high it seems
Everything small below
Funny how from earth it seems
A singularly splendid show

Japanese Butterfly

My
Japanese Butterfly
Sole proprietor of my eye
Sole proprietor of my sky
Canary, strawberry
Colors extraordinary
She lives in an orangery
In a hole under an orange tree
Her kisses are of lemon-lime
Citrus, overwhelmingly delicious
Captivating submissive I’ve made
A solicitous conscious decision
To explore, desire, love-n-adore
Till I die
My Japanese Butterfly
Sincerely,
Your Puffy-eyed Chinese Dragonfly

Burned Better Half

Whenever
I inhale aroma of fresh caffeine
                                   briskly
I go breathless ,an act ,expecting
you to walk out from the chinese coffin!

CHINESE SECRET LOVERS

                                      Bold frogs croak
                                 Garden pond danger watch
                                      Carp smile deep

                                         Lovers halt
                          Frog-beckoned silkworms weave
                                        Worlds vanish

A Chinese Vase

she is like a chinese vase
(i do not know which dynasty from)
most probably of Min one
with the course of time
the smithereens
have broken
(almost invisibly)
you can understand
only
if you pass a finger
on the mouth
on the neck
on
but only if it is bare
without a glove
(velvet or of tulle)
i do not know if i am doing it
but sometimes
in the morns
a light fog
is spreading
then i change my slip cover

it is light
and usually white

Be Assertive Before You Indulge

Be assertive before you indulge
Tangy,
sugary,
sweating,
like Chinese Sweet and Sour.
'Tis a fling?
Or a zesty,
savory,
full blown love affair?
Remember!
It has an after taste that never goes away.

Behold Her Grace

Her love, her modesty, behold her grace
That shine let shine be on her face.

A friend, a enemy let ever be too,
May her company to let me flew.

Her desires, her sacrifices are neglected, i think,
That she was hiding her tears to blink.

Her beauty her modesty behold her grace,
That shine let shine be on her face.

Her mummering, her talkings, her chinese gossips,
Forced me to think about her twisted thinkings.

She was, she is, she will be unique,
Smart one, dreamed one, thats on the peak.

Her beauty, her modesty behold her grace,
That shine let shine be on her face,
That shine let shine be on her face.

Chop Suey

I once had a friend named Louie
who never gave a hooey
about when he ate
as long as his mate
fixed his favorite chop suey.

Louie was married to Betty
who much preferred spaghetti
but when Louie said, "Please,
fix my favorite Chinese"
Betty said, "I won't be so petty

since pasta is in the suey
and I really love you, Louie."
So she took all day
chop, chopping away
till onions made her eyes dewy.

Help!! I don't have an end
to this saga of my friend ...
no way to finish
this tasty suey dish
perhaps you have one to lend?

Soon

She has become
Like a thin Chinese tea cup
Placed upon a large rock
She has become… fragile
Afraid to go anywhere
Least she break

She sits outside
When the weather is clear
Reading the same book
She has read for many years
Painfully turning the pages
With crooked fingers

Occasionally
I see her smile
As the lines on her face
Seem to multiply ten fold
While she tries to remember
Why she is smiling

When the cooler weather
Dances around her
She wears a long soft scarf
Wrapped many times
Around her neck
To keep the cold away

Sometimes
She will ask me
"When will my friends
Be coming by?"
And I sit next to her
Hold her hand
And say to her
Soon Grandma… soon

Falling In Love the Chinese Way

dress-suit occasioned, to the eye perception
toasts and canned laughter,in the name of making out
can i buy you a drink, the prologue of octopused slumber
seated on a cold stool, the troubles of joyful singles
till a shadow pinched me to the site of, a spring lit cheongsam dress
our eyes acquainted by virtue of fate, shaking our balls in a bouncy whirl
drifting to a locality fit for two
wishful inspired ross-colored magic, by dint of a love spell
muffling tunes, a language treasured by hearts unified
like poles oozing, drops of distinct formation
falling in love the chines way

Andrea Knows the Answers

Tail moves the dog or dog moves the tail ?
Who moves faster than Carol's e mail?
Who knows the recipe of relativity soup?
What is the blood group of Becky's latest scoop?
Who wins the battle of Xomba in Galaxy 3?
Who catches a butterfly in the woods of Innisfree ?
Who goes to west when east sleeps on feast?
Who cries like a cucumber when she is kissed?
Who builds a yellow villa on the cloud nine?
Who writes" I Love You" on Cindy's credit line?
Who milks a honeybee to make the Pandora cheese?
Who chases a Spanish lion in the Chinese seas?
Andrea knows the answers she is the poet of all
She burns the oil of moon after a sundae nightfall.

Knowledge My Habibi and I Lazy Write

ERICK VERSION

Well,I'll paint my face red
sharpen my spear
i am on the pad of war.
I will put foot to work here.
knowledge is my weapon.
A Chinese in Hong Kong make me mad
i will kick his ***.

MY VERSION

I'll put on my hoodie
spears on my back
gladiators on my feet
head to the jungle.
Knowledge will be my shield.
This war i must win.
Any soldier that stand between
victory and i
their *** i will kick.

A Nation Divided

We no longer need
The Russians and the Chinese
To be our enemies
When there's you and me

Like water and oil
This mixture will take its toll
On both the young and old
Poured out on our American soil

This spewing of hate
We've had as of late
No progress is made
Nor strong foundation laid

If no purpose other
Than the need to come together
And love one another
Brother to Brother

We know this because
A divided nation will fall
With nothing left after all
Will you heed the call

Come

Come

Come
For
The lights have all disappeared
And the torch lamp’s weary
To block darkness
For
Darkness is eternity!
Light your red candle
O chase lonesomeness
The deep lonesomeness
By the soft sound of your voice
Your nightingale voice
And
Speak that Chinese
When you come
Come when the winds blow
Come when trees crawl
Come when birds sing
Of turtledove birds come
And
Come when I come
Let’s come together, all our life!

Oh, the night and the torch lamp
O at a dark night of a rainy season
And
At Elobi for a forlorn student
It’s strident.

Chinese Characters

I had you even though your instructions were written in Chinese characters.
I tried to understand every stroke and every line.
I had you even though it's hard for me.
I loved and understood you all through out.

Chinese New Year

Beauty now flings
Blessings of spring.

Beauty makes room
For spring time blooms.

Beauty now sings
As joy greets spring.

Beauty and peace
Happy times please.

Beauty knows best
How to live fest

Beauty knows soul
As joy sculpts whole.

Beauty lives well
Just where love dwells.

Beauty in time
Words sacred rhymes.

Beauty and wit
Allow fond fit.

Beauty styles smiles
In touch worthwhile.

Dog Munchers

Dog Munchers
In China they have a Summer Solstice festival where they eat dogs. There's not a peace loving animal stroking pagan in sight. Instead its dog munchers. Lots of them. They're very busy, killing and eating.

Over 10,000 dogs are killed and eaten on ONE DAY.

Kept in cages. Condemned to die. No love here except for hungry Chinese. They adore their exotic delicacy. Some people even say the festival is for foreign tourists. Money is made on them.

We cry out in horror!

200,000 people signed a petition to stop it. Will it do any good? ENOUGH! Stop this awful act. It's not acceptable in a 21st Century world. Your Yulin festival is from the Dark Ages.

               MY CHINESE DAUGHTER

                       There is no face
            Reflection of a thousand years
                That can take her place
A face that cried a thousand tears
                      There is no heart
Reflection of the West Lake dew
                      That can so impart
                   Devotion rediscovered
                             and

Sister Aloysius rings the bell

her triple-bolted thin-lipped smile
pursed against assault, or love,
while children shuffle past
their tulip heads averted
from her scything gaze

Jimmy from the Chinese
chip shop, smiling, filing past
What is so amusing?
children freeze, ice-blooded
in breath-held silence.
"Lovely morning."

hisses a crack-small stream of air
allows a Yes to escape.

When I Died On East Broadway

The heavens above me was the colors of hell, and the old Chinese man welcomed me to my afterlife, an angel beside me from heaven

it won't break again.
