Falling In Love - Lay

Let eyes meet, let them spark a fire
Let rhythms sing to music of lyre

Let heartbeats of joy write our song
In moods of kisses yearned for long

Let blushing cheeks welcome romance
Enchanting heart's seductive dance

Let winds of love ignite our flame
As night, ecstatic, croons your name

Walk With the Lord Ink

When we walk with the Lord, mercifulness and kindness live within all of us; lead by the Light to see others in their dread. Let us not become latent with blindness. 3/4/2020 Poetry Contest: Kind Ink Sponsored by: Charles Messina

Words From the Wiser Me

What would the future, wiser me
The lonely widow I'm sure to be
Say to me, today

How precious, his baritone groan
To muted ears left all alone
Once he's flown away

Life's rivers drain abruptly swift
So recognize this timeless gift
Let this moment - stay

It Happened On a Misty Morning

Written: September 17, 2023 It Happened On A Misty Morning Sponsored by: Charles Messina _______________________________________________________________ Wettened by the mornings dew Closely spaced where rows of roses grew Footprints stained the cobblestone Where my love and I had walked, alone A garden bloomed in vibrant hues In their fragrant splendor, love imbued Each petal held a whispered word Of promises made and love assured

The Equalizer, Love

The sun will shine brighter tomorrow

When we learn to transform our sorrow,

For the terrors we witness today,

Hold the keys to build castles from clay ...

Thus, as hard as they are to impart,

Tragedies plant a seed in our heart,

To grow blooms from the horrors of men ...

And insure they don't happen ... again.

Poem of Poems

The sun will shine brighter tomorrow when...
Mankind lives in peace, but up until then
We turn on the TV and see war and hate
Mankind needs to change before it's too late
You may be Muslim, Christian, Hindu or Jew
Be honest and tell me, does it matter to you ?
Respect, love and trust, so lets get it right
Then maybe our sun will shine really bright.

Afterglow Ii

Day fades quickly into night.
I try, but cannot fight.
Life wanes with no respite,
I pass into the light.

Far below, I hear the roar
of waves that brace the shore.
I pass the lofty eagle’s soar.
God calls, I am no more.

Instead, I pass with awe and grace,
through time and finite space.
I am a form, no shape, no face.
Yet, not alone in this strange place.

Within myself, I feel god hover.
I am my wife, my child, my brother.
I am the love of father and mother.
I am myself alone, yet altogether, one another

We all wonder about God, death and an after life. These are some of the answers I have
reconciled in my musing.

There's Always Hope

Hope
is your
last resort
when love has left
your heart broken; and your dreams disappear.

But, you’re not a slave shackled to lost dreams,
for you believe
that there is
always
hope.

Propped With Grace

Bracing me up with grace* and might God hoists my faith for service right He assures me His presence-bliss Of compassion’s peace I can’t miss. Thus, I face each day so grateful Midst triumphant heart, worshipful. Vanquishing fear, despair and doubt Love-propped, I’m ready to reach out.

Undying Love-Tet

Oh,
My love…
Where hath thy,
Gone? In deeper,
Sorrows where slings, arrows, and swords are drawn…

For I will love thy ways forever still,
In foolish dreams…
Love doth spill,
Beyond…
Streams.

The Thorn's Song Ct

I smiled when lilac tulip bloomed, I prayed for amber wings in rain. On fiery leaves with love perfumed, blue angels kissed her blushing chain. How oft fir-kissed drops fall as gems absorbing pangs of thirst from stems. My bare soul drenched in velvet chrome longs to rest in her musk-soaked home. When lilac tulip bloomed, I prayed, I smiled for amber wings in rain. With love, perfumed blue angels kissed her blushing chain on fiery leaves. Afar, yet my love sings along if only she'd hear a thorn's song. September 2, 2020 Charonnet Poetry Contest Sponsor: charles messina
