What Is Love

I still recall our first poetic glance, dormant pen roused my fingers to dance. Her love was like a cherry blossom tree, which at first blossomed so beautifully. When a tender breeze took each fragile bud, we stood naked, vulnerable to the flood. Broken branches fell, as love became silent, our poems burned in fires, ever so violent. Her absence formed a lawless state of mind, vacant heart bled for memories left behind. Some say sorrow washes away with rain, but in heartbreak, torpid wounds leave a stain. Love is a balance of peace and distress, yet it's something two souls cannot suppress.

The Heart's Journey

Should there be such pain in
passion of the heart?
Or does the heart,
simply by beating,
know the boundaries of pain
when it can no longer absorb any more joy?
The two seem intertwined at times,
each exalted unto itself.
From euphoria to melancholia,
the heart is on an endless journey
seeking harmony and balance,
yet finding anything but.
We torture our souls
for the sake of love,
enduring countless curves,
on the road to the steep summit
where a plateau cannot survive
the weathered storms for long,
but for the season’s summers
we exist.

Sweet and Salty -Libra Tale

LIBRA TALE

Sweet and Sour hectic sign
Love me, trust me, the stars align
   Balance of truth and dare
Good and Evil, full of care
Blind when it comes to blood line

Mother Earth's Plea

Mother Earth's Plea

Once upon a time I was so beautiful

Now my body is cluttered with pestilence,
I’m slowly dying inside.
Hear my suffering,
feel my rain of tears,
my seasons of grief and anguish

Please restore my magical beauty and charm,
the rhythm of harmony and balance
so I can survive

If you love me, keep me clean and recycle.
Everyone needs to pitch in!

Equilibrium

Equilibrium
Sometimes . . . when dark clouds fill the skies, the world seems out of balance and cries. But then . . . as two hearts touch in the darkness, suddenly . . . the equilibrium of life is restored, clouds disappear, and the sun begins to shine once more.

The Ballad of Connie Marcum Wong

An idiom by which she's always stuck
is 'having one's head buried in a book'
The truth behind it, she was unprepared
that morning as she went to climb the stairs.
Stopping to lift a bottle, bad mistake
especially when one isn't quite awake
her balance gone, could not control herself
now plunging headlong into the book shelf.
Bruised head, bruised knees, bruised pride was quite enough,
thankfully, make-up would disguise the scuffs.
But then she only went and made it worse
by saying that it would make a good verse.

Hopefully next time she will be wiser
and not tell me, but tell 'Trip Advisor'

Soul Mate

A soul mate is not perfection of shallow attractions
But a love that many read about so unique and rare
Realness that is deep and sincere - a lasting bond
One not sugar coated or glowing with bright light
What a priviledge to know - it would be so profound
To share harmony, such balance - ying and yang
Fitting like a glove with fingers out stretched
Neither held back together encouraged to grow
It's like pen and paper and mind connecting words
Creating a union of mind, body and soul

Lance the Dancer

There once was a guy whose name was Lance
And all this man loved to do was dance,
If you beat on a drum
Or just twiddle your thumb,
Lance would jump up and he'd start to prance.

He danced from morning into the night
He'd leap in air like a bird in flight,
He never got tired
And always was fired,,
Until one day when he lost his sight.

Have you ever seen a blind man dance?
Well it was a sight, that cane and Lance,
He didn't want pity
Though it wasn't pretty,
When he toppled loosing his balance.

He'd jump right up and continue on
And nothing could stop this dancing prawn,
He taught us a lesson
That there is no reason,
To end what you love before you're gone.

Please, transcend.

Begin to bend…

soul’s ache for Love to spend.

Middle

In youth, vacations lent my Summers wings
and Christmas gilded wintertime in gold.
I've aged (a bit) and love my Falls and Springs
for landing in between too hot or cold.
In time, I've learned it doesn't pay to be
too up or down, too rich or poor, too round
or thin. Avoiding each extremity,
I balance life by seeking middle ground.
I used to have my weight control down pat,
then physical exertion simply froze.
I'm somewhere south of fit and north of fat;
my muscles shrink yet still my middle grows.
As seasons come and go, I grow more sage;
I know the meaning now of "middle" age.

You Are Day and Night To Me

You are day and night to me—
Much more,
My before
And yet to manifest
Within You I circulate
While beyond You
Still more of You
I seek to elevate—
The vine of my spirit
Reaching up, and then
Further,
Each leaf of me suspended
The craving
Is light—
I am in balance…
Elevating for illumination
All of me
Grasping and lifting,
Following transparency
Of new veins
And meridians,
Seeking mastery
While saturated
With love....

Life In a Nutshell

Life in a nutshell where simplist of wires are strung tiptoeing in the delicate balance what can be done is done wrongs from rights days falling over nights not doing too much of one leaving it up to another a brother, a sister, a care pretenses can't pretend to disappear but if you listen, you can hear and you can see as waves wash upon love and tranquility life in a nutshell broken down for you, for me together we can all, just be

Storyline

no storyline can thrive to throw off loves balance,
to purposely paint a picture to detour its countenance,
the stroke of the pen changing in every moments release,
unconditional love neverending in beauty with each piece,
to place the heart back in its proper alignment,
in the changing of each moment with loves new assignment,
in the blink of an eye the storyline can change,
the plot, the characters, don't always end up the same way,
what you expected at the end of the story to be,
what you thought you rationalized becomes the opposite of what is seen,
love can thrive in ways past our own understanding,
the pace of his heart, God's happy ending...

A Thousand Sonnets

I write to vent.... my reason, the pain of an unrequited heart. I must be cautious that my lamenting doesn't askew the literary balance. The jilted black sister theme is tired but I could write it in a thousand sonnets. I loved you so much once I WISHED I was your cat now what is your name? 6/22/2020

Drift

Morning fog scrolls amid lonely hills
scarlet rays of wonder sultry bead
dissipating breaths mist in prelude
offering up a delicate canvas of need

drenched at attention mid stare
reflections begging to be revealed
all of life's secrets soon to bare

painted corners of blushed lips
curl, in the drawing of your way
hushed the half-beats of my drum
crave, welcoming in a new day

and when the moments lay dry
drift into the balance of my eye

Control

So this is all there will be from now on,
since you've made up your mind to depart;
no more TV, no talking, no people, no fun,
no more girlfriends who play with your heart.

You're a timid and tremulous creature,
always wearing your soul on your sleeve;
you can't for the life of you step on a bug
but you simply don't know how to leave.

How to leave things behind when they're done,
how to let go a friendship that's dead,
not to disinter love when it's all in your mind,
and take charge of your own life instead.

It's all just a question of balance,
why must you suffer such pain?
just see living as merely good judgment, good sense,
and you'll get your control back again.

Feeling Peaceful

Feeling peaceful, in thought rested silence
Head-heart melded, with love in alliance
Ushers miracles, felt as bliss tingles
Force toroidal, caress amiable
Nestled in divine entwined dalliance

Breathing softly, aligned with our conscience
Spirit soars high, dance of exuberance
Love alone remains, life becomes simple
Feeling peaceful

Earth life dalliance, blissful divine dance
Erect is our stance, heart-mind in balance
Dweller of void, cognition spherical
God enables, all becomes doable
Open arm embrace, in joyous parlance
Feeling peaceful

Our Countenance

Our countenance, mirroring heart vibrant
Elixirous in the bliss joy current
Outer form, reflecting our radiance
In sync with subtle voice of our conscience
Mindful eye, to each nuance sentient

Nestled thus, in our native element
Love alone according our acts consent
Mind body reveals, inner innocence
Our countenance

Devoid of narrow ego sediment
Breezing through life, in quiet contentment
Divine entwined, in playful joy parlance
Centred presence, in dynamic balance
Rainbow in full view, makes a bold statement
Our countenance

Germination

When hurt descends from the tree of life and

The stepladder breaks straight onto your pain

A trampoline turned jo-jo strangles creeping ivy

Entangles in trapezes and dreams of surrender

Pick me up where I have buried my wounded soul

Uncover my darkness and cradle my weeping heart

Mind gaps’s emotions and feelings of rational thought

Transcend into vibrating light of balance and harmony

At the bottom of searching for circles’ impermanence

Rests a rusty wheel barrow that nestles a garden of love

Sheds a load from my shoulders and unburdens torment

Fallow fields harbour seeds of regrowth and compassion

Gnarled

Oh, worn and twisted, gnarled old tree- such lovely art in you, I see. Your huge limbs curve and intertwine in rhythmic motion by design. Your crooked, tortured, ragged stance presents a vision to enhance this sculptured beauty you amassed by feat of nature, unsurpassed. Rough-hewn, contorted, ragged, bent- you stir an art of motion sent to eyes that can appreciate such balance from a tangled state. You pull me in with outstretched arms to love the beauty of your charms. Though rocky, gnarled, and rugged be- you are so beautiful to me.

Love Need Never Hurry

You hold my hand
aware of capacity
for bonding

hands can do that
fingers fond conduits
palms firm suctions
of secure presence

hands yielding
while they also solidify
the mystery of divine
grasp – adhesive nature
of caring touch, giving
while receiving
taking possession with
tender balance of freedom

Love need never hurry

ageless and timeless
