What Makes It Rain

I love those days, certain special days
when I can tie up my troubles
                         and send them away
to set them adrift, a balloon in the sky
getting smaller and smaller
                              no wondering why

I love those days, certain special days
when I feel in control,
                        when darkness abates
when direction is certain
                          and doubt is a fool
happy and positive thoughts to rule

There are many balloons,
                                  I see in the sky
many troubles adrift, all set free by
those who are worried and in pain
I wonder, perhaps
if that’s what makes it rain

Love, Known and Unknown

As the trees shiver with delight at the fresh autumn breeze, The cycle of life has met his match with her. Her cloak now adorned with all the fallen acorns, while gently the sun abates for less to see. Its sensual warmth no longer felt by lovers in fields. Unaware of the web of love, I allowed my heart to falter. Now struggling in a world so cold, I fall. I fall grasping for breath that perhaps may fill me with the joy I once knew.

La Paloma

The splayed light of an obliging red sunset
lays upon the darkening meadow
of windswept grass
Slow-moving fingers in a visible dance
wrap in quiet space
when moonlight silhouettes our hands as they bond

A falling star etches the night sky
burning its canvas like a struck match
vanishing as quickly as it came

The rush of life abates to a small distance
so we can free ourselves from outgrown nests
to float like doves on tender breezes
until we can fly when love is found
to lift the subtle wings of our souls

Love Abates

Hanging on hope, acknowledging I wade along through empty promises Away, farther and farther, I drift Outside realms of delusions I’ve seen And like a child hold to Words ever spoken in faith, august By a Father who loves unconditionally Each person regardless of hue, Origin, creed, ethnicity, religion… All, differences imposed, willfully Inciting division, one generation to next And like dominoes, each falls … Fear, animosity thrive as love abates ~*~

Why Does the Shore Love the Sea

Why does the shore love the sea?
Giving, always giving...
He lets himself be struck
By the sea in her rage
And will still hold her
As the storm abates-
Why?

My lover says it's because
When they are together,
The world is complete

Now--Smile and Wave

With precious children you’ve been blessed.
You’ve guided them with loving care.
While helping them become their best,
your standards have been high, but fair.
You’ve breathed their names in every prayer.

Your eighteen-year-old, college-bound,
is packed; a distant dorm room waits.
She says she’s ready, but you’ve found
you’re NOT. Emotion permeates
your being; your resolve, abates.

Now like a fledgling on the wing,
she’ll take her flight and find her way.
Embrace once more. Release; don’t cling!
Your love and pride in her convey.
Then—you must let her walk away!

Love's Finest Backdrop

Shimmering stars through barren trees – I see far as the eye can see! For clouds are in and snuggled tight, reveling in this midnight sky. Others join, as one by one, each darkened house awaits the sun; they slumber as the night doth play and prosper ‘til the light of day. The cool, crisp air abates my woes; and for a moment (though my nose is froze!), my heavy heart is warm and certain Love’s finest backdrop is a dark blue curtain. *~*~*~*~*~*

10 Minutes To Decide

With his back turned he looks away from her He depends on his trusty watch and waits Her response will be today, he knows it He hears them talk behind him, which abates What did she say, what was her sure answer His friend said that you may now turn around He begins to turn then she says no wait And back to their discussion they went down Minutes went by then it came upon ten He said he’ll turn around now and visit The women stopped their chatter together And he turned, what’s her answer, what is it?

When Nobody Helps

When the brain inside debates

When the storm inside abates

When sleepless nights assassinates

When the past creeps in and investigates

When ego surrenders and guilt arrests

When memories walk past but time awaits

When every thought inside procrastinates

When fear dies and tear evaporates

When utopia hides behind society's gates

When fate says you are not mates

When dilemma stays like a mistress

When the heart plays in distress

When her absence still affects

When your dream disconnects

When your own love suspects

When you lose nerve and frown on your defects

When you break down and hurt yourselves

When you succumb but nobody helps.

Sometime In the Future

The essence of u stirs my senses
your masculine smell leaves me defenseless
anticipating the moment until I see you again
reveling you and I together
there's no beginning and no end

were not perfect of that we know
but perfect we are together as our
emotions grow

inhaling you with every breath that I take
slowing down my breathing
until the feel of you abates

I'll just be patient until you come to me
so until the time comes forth I'll wait patiently

Life's Seesaw

Dreams,desires,bitter so sweet
An adolescent trail trodden,
Engulfed by moods,melancholy and sudden;
Aches from a first love leaving,
Painful ye poignant;
Novel experience sadden,then abates
Then will gladden
As mellowed..anticipation awaits.

Ambling Along

Ambling along here at an easy gait
Smile on our lips, accepting any fate
Amidst turbid life storms, we yet stand strong
Conscience pulse prevents us from doing wrong
Vivified by bliss, that never abates

Agendaless presence, life choices chaste
To the rhythm divine, gently gyrates
Nonjudgmental eye, with love our swan-song
Ambling along

In sync with the divine, we co-create
Healing touch, transmitting joy that elates
Knowing heart our true home, where we belong
We plunge into the joy current headlong
Thus prioritised; outer world can wait
Ambling along

Goodbye

GOODBYE
Goodbye to all the sins I saved
and enter anew but more depraved
Transgress against love for it will not cure
My enmity of the pure of heart

My slumber will consist of themes
of wanton desire beyond the elms
with no regard of the aftermath
And generate fault until it abates

to greet the world with a heavenly glow
A fresh new feeling as new laid snow
Then it will be time to say Hello

Captivating Druid

All the colors of the spectrum
palette mixed with sweet abandon
dancing to the music of the spheres
space and time entwined enthralled
spin pirouettes in love with life
enchanted frequencies uncalled
flashing in and out
like candles on a West bound freight train of thought
lumbering through forgetful crossings
blindly stumbling in light of sudden day
A blink and then 'tis gone
From Knotty Ash to Winnetuxet Junction
Here do I yet listen, watch, enraptured
While the druid rider laughs and waits
inside my head to function
And I so captured
In winds of time as tide abates

Tender Are the Memories of Summer

Tender are the memories of summer
Wilting in the sun
Nothing abates my inward hunger
For battles never won
Tender are the dreams of summer
Tender as our tears
That stain the heart and still linger
Like love through the years
When you were Dothnie, and we
Were innocent and young
We walked away so hurriedly
To yearn the unclimbed rung
O tender is the memory of your silence
And tender my pretense
And all their seeds are agonies
And all our dreams are old ironies

Internal

My blood is like cottage cheese.

Blocking the flow of ease.

I feel heat in my bones.

But I cannot move- my body is filled with stones.

My eyes are feeling unwise.

With the pain of surprise.

I hope that this sensation abates.

My vision cracks more as I wait.

She watches my lips turn gray.

She sits vigil and listens to me say-

Everything that I can hear.

It is like I am no longer near.

A hug will only make me shiver.

She must watch my breath wither.

What Is Real

What may we call definitive
save the bliss throb deep in our bones
immersed in flow meditative
heightened rapture we feel alone

Ego pursues relentlessly
following us like a shadow
preserving its identity
luring us in dreams of morrow

Encased in body separate
yet recognising all is void
fears and desires precipitate
by currents turbid we are toyed

Even in brilliance of stillness
ego baiting with imagery
blocking merger with That oneness
by grandeur imaginary

The bliss that abates not with time
joyful vibration permanent
true love of the divine sublime
our innate native element

Magic of Love

”Love weaves a mysterious magic spell”
Silencing lower mind, igniting heart
Toroidal pull magnetic captivates
Time holds its breath as polarities dance
Birthing boundless bliss that never abates

When ego bends down, with love in embrace
Presence is entwined with all existence
In childlike delight, we imbibe God’s grace
Between Him and us, remains no distance

Love is the force that binds the universe
‘Tis wherefrom springs each melodious verse
Without any need for us to rehearse

Empty

Emptiness engulfs my vacant adornment
Full of cob webs and dust, decaying like rotten flesh
Decadance has faded
All that remains is a hollow, benign shell
Dreams have faded
Only nightmares left
Or worse dreamless nights
Absent of thought and memories
Drowning in a slumber chamber
Full of nothing
Comprehension abates
Poetic utterances do not clarify
What can only be a mystery
Shadows keep hidden what must not be revealed
The unveiling is yet to come
Lack of sincerity amongst onlookers
Keeps the waters stagnant
The occasion somber
Complacency stirs up rage
Bitterness accumulates into a fiery inferno
Injustice leads to victory
Her wrath keeps her afloat

One Lasting Wish

Kiss me once more lovingly,
than you have kissed before

Tell me that our love is shared,
and one plus one is four

Kiss me once more lovingly,
with time our hearts denied

As death abates, new dreams await
—forever’s wish to hide

Agape love

The spiritual heart pulsates,
radiating potent power;
throb of rapture never abates,
drenching us in a bliss shower.

Having discarded thought flow crutch,
we now imbibe God’s love by touch,
who calls to us and we respond,
forging with Him a childlike bond.
