Your Absence Tears At Me

Your Absence Tears At Me
My heart wanted to run free with you by the sea without a care,
to feel the fresh salty wind brush over my body and through my hair.
Running my fingers through your wavy hair as we kissed would have been my lung’s air.
I keep yearning to hear your feet climbing my stairs, but they are never there.

I’m tired of waiting I want to run free with someone who is never there,
Your hands are there to touch another, they can’t touch my hair.
Your eyes can’t see all the varied pigments in mine when I stare.
I love you and my heart skips when I think of you, but your absence tears.
